There is a moment in every life when you decide to rise, to stand taller than your fear, to speak louder than your doubt, to chase the vision that sets your soul on fire. This is that moment and here. We walk it together with stories that awaken voices that inspire and truce that set you free. This is positive talk with Kevin MacDonald where hope has a voice, and that voice is yours. And welcome to the show, everybody. You know, I got to tell you. There are guests that we have, before first of all, let me say this, I love all the guests that are on the show. And regardless of where they come from or what they're doing, they're all trying to live life a little bit better, but there are some, there are guests, and then there are guests. And Connie is one of those. And I don't know if you know what that means, but for Shell does, what does that mean for Shell? It's how we had talked about beforehand. We vibrate

just maybe a little bit differently on a different level with different things. And that is amazing. So I'd like to welcome our guest today. Connie Salgado is here with us. She has a website based on her wellness, which is Connie Salgado wellness calm. And thank you for being here. I hope you're doing amazing today. I already have so many questions for you. So I'm going to try to stay in the mode that we go with. Sounds great. Because we never know where we're going to go with this. It's kind of like a box of chocolates. We don't know what's inside, but we're going to have a great deal of fun. And I just, I just love it. Now, first of all, I have to explain everybody. Connie is a health coach and an energy healer. Now, I want to explain to everybody that energy is a real thing. It's not an imaginary thing. It's a real thing. Scientists proved it. Einstein said it. Tesla said it. And so therefore, it is a real thing that we're going to talk about today.

And also her wellness journey and where she was and where she is and the remarkable transformation that she's made. Have I mistated any of that, Ms. Connie? That was all perfect and accurate. Perfect. And so, Michelle, because I know you've been waiting for this for a while, I'll let you lead off. How about that? Perfect. Well, thank you. Connie, my main question, which has a main focus, depending on the person, is what exactly started this? Okay, I love that question. I suffered from neck and shoulder pain for years, right? And here, it showed up originally in high school. I was playing tennis and my back just froze up on me. And I could barely drive myself to the chiropractor. He managed to get me in and get things loosened up and moving again. But from that time forward, I had varying amounts of back and neck pain and constriction in my shoulders and neck. And that continued on for about 20 years. And then

in my mid-30s, my health took a turn for the worse. Otherwise, I had been fairly helpful, besides things like susceptibility to UTIs and some acne, which I had treated with acutane, and then it started coming back in my mid-30s. But around that time, my energy tanked and I was so so depleted and so fatigued, I started having a noticeable brain flock. Like, it changed so abruptly that I really noticed that I wasn't tracking and recalling things like I used to. I started having racing heart. My joints started kind of like locking up, especially first thing in the morning. And yeah, I'm thyroid issues as well. Now, by that time I was done, I was already done with Western medicine. So I never went in to get a diagnosis. But I just had a lot of symptoms that were concerning me. It's amazing how we all go through life and our bodies do so much. And sometimes, it just doesn't work for us because there are underlying things that I'm sad to say this.

Western medicine doesn't consider. And there's a lot of things that they could be doing differently to help people because you went the alternative route, didn't you? And found some people that could help you. You found a, I'm not sure what you call a foot doctor or a foot. A foot zoner or a foot zone therapist. You're going to have to explain what that is. I haven't heard that term before. Yeah, it's relatively new in the United States. I say, I would say that modality has only been here for about 30 or 40 years, but it comes from northern Europe. And it's based on this idea that every cell in the body is connected energetically to the feet. So you can access the body's energy, all of the body's systems through the feet. Do you not only get information about what's going on in the body, but then you can, what's going on in the body? You can raise and unblock the body's energy through the feet. Now, that's not like a podiatrist or something it's different

than that, right? It's probably, it's closest relative is reflexology, but reflexology really is very basic. And it will only treat the bottom of the feet, whereas foot zone therapy treats the sides, the top and the bottom of the feet. And you are addressing all the systems and organs in the body. It's really quite thorough and quite effective. Now, is that where you found out that your liver was loaded with toxins because they did that through your feet. And she was able to diagnose it from there? Yes, that's exactly what happened. I was miserable enough. So I have a degree in molecular biologist, my molecular biology. I'm a trained scientist. And so I wasn't really open it to energy, woo, woo, it felt weird to me. But at the time, I was so miserable that I was open to all kinds of things. And I just happened to meet this woman who was certified foot zonologist. And she impressed me with her knowledge of the inner workings of the body and natural medicine. So I decided to get a treatment from her. And I just felt so much better afterwards.

It was, yeah, it's hard to believe. I have to remind myself sometimes like, yeah, this, I felt so much better. So I went for a few more treatments. And each time I would notice feeling significantly better afterwards, not only that she was able to tell me like, hey, your lymph is just clogged up with fat and protein. Your liver is full of toxins. She gave me some suggestions of how to eat and supplement so that I could support my body's natural healing systems. And her advice was really helpful. Now I have to ask you because you are a scientist. And so you have the scientific brain and you have scientific friends. What was their response? When you said, I'm going to this foot guy person. I have no idea what they do, but they're going to find out what it is. You know what? I'm not sure I told anyone. I think I just kept it to myself for a little while. I don't blame you at all because they would have said, oh, no, you're right. That's quackery. I was skeptical myself. And I thought I just, and I loved your run experiments on myself. And so I'm like, I'm just going to see what happens.

And I need lots of evidence. I need lots of data points. So I not only did a few treatments, but I tried on her advice for a while before I really felt like, okay, this, this is definitely helping me. And I feel safe to share this with people. And your health now is good. I would say better than ever. Like, I really have no chronic symptoms. I have energy and despair. I feel like I have mental clarity, mood stability. Yeah. I just feel well and my body functions well. And yeah, I could do all the things I love. Yeah, I'm looking like my shoulder is totally yeah, because at one point you said that you had a case of frozen shoulder. And I've heard the term I've had a rotator cuff surgery. And they said, oh, you need to be careful. You might get frozen shoulder. They never explain to me what that was. And then you did before the show, would you tell our audience what shoulder or what frozen shoulder

is? So I don't think they told you what it is because I don't think they know what causes it. They did say that. It's just they're just saying, oh, you can't move your shoulder. Thus it's frozen. Let's call it frozen shoulder. We don't really know what causes it. This is how all diseases are named. But essentially, I could not move my left arm. It just was like a heavy weight. The nerves were not conducting the signals to my arm. And I was in constant throbbing pain. Now, I have come to learn that I had a virus in my shoulders, specifically a shingles virus. Not the virus that causes the chickenpox. That's the very cell virus that they call shingles because it manifests in a rash. There are over 30 varieties of the shingles virus, which can infect our bodies and live in us like parasites. They lie dormant for a long time. And then they'll flare up like the herpes. Simplex virus will lives in us and then flares up when we're under stress. Other viruses do that. And they're basically causing all of our health problems. So in my case, I had a shingles virus that loved to hang out around my shoulder blade. And when it would get really bad,

it's toxins would spread and inflame my nerves and cause constant throbbing pain and like lack of they just wouldn't function right. Well, like I said before the show, I am sure glad that I didn't have that because it sounds awful. Well, rotator cuff doesn't sound great either. So, you know, we all pick our trials, right? Yeah. Well, and you'll understand this because the guy took pictures of when he opened me up, he took pictures. And it looked like, have you ever had a bone in roast where the bone is sticking out and you've got the meat all around it, but the that's what my shoulder looked like because all for the tendons were ripped off and stuff. So, so he thought that I would be a great, you know, like dinner for somebody, but but it was it was pretty it was it was and but now I can move it and I'm all good. So, so I was very lucky, but you because of going to see the foot doctor and then she recommended you

do some things, one of which was a cleanse. And I would like to talk a little bit about that because a cleanse is something that that is newer. It's it's not something that a lot of people have good, it doesn't even go back. It's I think it's around 20 years old a bit am I wrong in that? I'm not really sure where cleanse has started. I think they've been around for a long time and they just they're very they've been modified and new ideas come in. But even the idea of fasting to give your liver a rest, I think that's been around for a long time. Yeah. Except in western except in the United States, I think we've lost some of these long held traditions and ancient practices. Well, that's because did you are you football fan? Do you ever watch a football game and the commercials are either fast food, beer, booze, more fast food. And so there and in your mind, they are excited about you going and getting beer and fast food and that's that's and that's

kind of the western, the United States style of eating and stuff. We currently in that. Yes, the standard American diet. And with you saying that Kevin, I have to ask you in this. Another thing you talk about on your website, I want to cover is lymphatic drainage. So what exactly is that for somebody who doesn't have heard that term? I'm not sure you want to know. Well, there's many forms of it. Yeah, there are many forms. So I practice a deep lymphatic massage, which is a little different than the traditional lymphatic massage that's here in the United States. It's a combination of acupressure which helps to open up the lines of energy in the body, which influence the function of the organs. So it opens up energy in the body. It deeply relaxes the body. And then I use slow, deep strokes along the major lymphatic vessels to help move lymph all towards the abdomen. And it includes abdominal massage. It helps the body just do what it naturally does. But when our lymph gets thick

and sticky, if we're holding tension in our body, if we're not breathing deeply, then outward are not we're not able to move the lymph through our body and get the garbage out. The lymphatic vessels are like muscle contraction and relaxation are like the pump for our lymph vessels. And if we're constantly holding tension in our body, then lymph gets stuck. The diaphragm is the main pump for the lymphatic system. If we're not taking deep belly breaths, then we're not moving our lymph fluid. We're not taking out the trash the way we should. So it really just helps the body get in a relaxed state and does some manual movements to help the lymph move the way it should. If it's not moving and kind of get things like clearing the drain, grinding the pump, just getting things going. Yeah. So basically what you're saying is that's you're like the plunger on the drain. That's a great analogy. Thank you. I am like a

I've got a plunger over here and it helps you. My drains can stay clear. Just think of me like a human plunger for your body. I know you have another question. So go ahead. Well, let's take this break first. But one thing that I want to talk about is that lymphatic drainage is so important because of how much your body holds on to. So we're doing all this work up in your brain, but your body's not actually letting go of it. And there was something else following that I wanted to say. So Kevin, take us to the regular number. Okay. We'll be back. It's just 30 seconds. Please enjoy this because this is very special. Here's another point to ponder by positive talk radio. A woman spent years hating the reflection in her mirror. One day, she whispered, I am enough. Day by day, her reflection became her friend. Self-love begins with the words you tell yourself. Speak gently because you are listening. This is brought to you by positive talk

radio where stories of hope come alive. And welcome back. And I just wanted to say be kind to yourself because in order for you to be kind to other people, you have to love yourself before you love before you're really capable of loving anybody else to the fullest extent possible. And Michelle, do you agree with that? 100% 100% and speaking of that, you help me remember what I was going to say. Because if there are practices that someone can start doing at home with themselves, like on their face or pressure points or things like that, some tips you can give us for somebody who maybe can't leave their house or whatever the situation. Yeah. Actually, one of the best things you can do to help your limb to drain is rebounding. And you can just get a little trampoline and bounce on it for 10 to 15 minutes a day. If you don't have a little trampoline and your joints are strong enough, you can just kind of bounce on the floor. They've done some research and discovered

that there are these one way valves in the lymphatic system. And when we do this motion, the valves open and close. And then when they open, it's like it sucks the lymphatic fluid into the vessels and moves them along the vessel. The rebounding is an excellent exercise for lymphatic drainage. Starting your day with two cups of lemon water. So the juice of half a lemon or lime and two cups of water flushes the kidneys out every morning, hydrates you on a cellular level and actually helps the body start taking out more garbage than is coming in. And yes, you can do manual lymphatic drainage. In fact, I bet you could just Google that and get some great instruction, a domino massage. Anywhere where you have soreness, you can just massage towards the abdomen. And that is something I teach people to is how to treat themselves. Honey, I gotta you, you're pretty smart because there's something in Western medicine. My sister's got it. I have it. And they say, you know what? We think you have inflammation. Oh, really? How can I help my inflammation?

I don't know. It's just like, well, what kind of inflammation do I have? I don't know. Can you do anything about it? No, you're just going to have to live with it. And it's like, okay, thank you. And now you want me to give you $150 to tell me I have to live with it, and you can't do anything about it. Thank you very much. Why is that? And is there something that you're aware of that my doc, my rheumatologist isn't absolutely. I love this question. If you get online right now in Google, like Epstein bar virus and ask what percentage of the world's population has Epstein bar virus, you will find out that over 90% of the world's population has Epstein bar virus. It's probably closer to 95%. Now, this is the World Health Organization and the National Institute of Health published these documents. And it lives in our liver. Stage three Epstein bar finds a home in our liver. And it will lie there low grade,

kind of semi-dormant, not enough to trigger a huge immune response, but it's eating our, it's like feeding off our resources and producing toxins. And when the liver gets full of these toxins, it becomes sluggish and fatty. And then the liver can't clean the blood the way that it's supposed to. And so our blood starts to get dirty and the garbage that's floating around in the bloodstream deposits in the body. And then we basically become like petri dishes for other pathogens, other viruses and bacteria. And Epstein bar can move to other places in the body. So anywhere that you have inflammation in your body, you have a virus. That is the bottom line. And this is another thing too. They will tell you that your body's attacking yourself. That never happens. Your body is not broken. Your body is an intelligent organism. It's attacking a virus or a bacteria that they haven't detected yet. And it is totally treatable. It's all treatable. I'm living proof

of that. Well, and I have to tell you, and you would say talking about that, Michelle had the most sickening look on her face. Why was that, my dear? Will you not? It's not because of the blood or any of that. I've dissected many things. But to think that they are training us to actually use something that may be going against our body or you know, a lot of times like this is happening with my dog right now. They do only have one medication and then she needs another one. Well, that medication caused something else and then she needs something for that. And now she's having a problem with her gobladder so they want to put her on another medication. And it's like, okay, but why are we treating all these things that there's just one root cause of it? And it's sad because like you saying that they're training us to think that our bodies are attacking ourselves. But if we're not a group problem, then we're that our blood gets dirty. And it's just sparked so many things in me because are there really any

symptoms? Or is it just like the average person that maybe struggles with basic things as we all do like fatigue and all the other things? Here's a perfect example. We, PMS has become so common place to have cramps and other issues right before a period that we think it's normal. I eliminated my PMS symptoms. I got to where I would have a period and not even know it was coming because I didn't get moody. I didn't have cramps. None of the typical symptoms. Now I'm going through menopause. No symptoms. They want to blame everything on menopause. I'm not having menopause symptoms except occasional hot flashes which I can mitigate by lowering the fat in my diet. But an acne. I mean, how many poor teenagers have acne these days? It's become so common place that we just think, well, it's puberty hormones. No, that is strep living in the lymphatic system underneath the skin and it comes out the skin. But we just we just think these things are normal

and they're not getting to the root cause of it. And it's not their fault. I don't want to bash on Western medicine. I would really rather spend the time like uncovering the solutions that are out there because there are solutions. And Connie Heather asked a question, hello, is it true that a cold plunge will clear it too? Okay, so cold plunges produce an adrenaline response. Adrenaline and cortisol response. They stress out the body. Anytime that you produce adrenaline, we feel really good. Adrenaline is an amazing drug. So it'll help temporarily. A lot of things like it will calm inflammation temporarily. But if your inflammation is caused from like because you just ran a marathon and now you have all the cellular waste filled up in your body, then yeah, a cold plunge can help that acute situation. But if you're having chronic inflammation, it's going to help it for a minute and then it's going to come back and it might even get worse over time because you will start to you will start to deplete your body of its resources. And Connie,

I have to ask you, I have a friend and this friend, it's not me, by the way, normally you would say that I have a friend and it's me. It's not me. But this friend of mine, who is a coworker of mine, has what we call the week from hell because once a month she has the week from hell and it makes it very difficult for her and I won't go into it. She gets headaches and backaches and not at all. Just a tons of stuff. Oh, I'm sorry. Was that you, Priscilla? I was talking about. Yes, it happened to be and I have to shout out Heather. That's my mom. I told her to listen to the show with you, Connie, because she's been getting nerve and stem cell treatments and all these things trying to figure out what's going on. And we are digging deep to find the root cause for that and same with me and the whole anything hormones, right? Because I have been told so many

times, even at 26, I still have acne. I have all these things that are just, they've always been with me if that makes sense. And it's like, oh, yeah, well, that's normal. Or I had ovarian cysts caused from birth control and they were like, oh, well, it may be it's because of the reaction in your body. So let's try a different one. And I was like, no, I'm not doing that. But there's been all these things down the line. Like Kevin said, like, I've reached out to girls and they're like, oh, yeah, I throw up or I've had to quit jobs or, you know, like we, things that are affecting our day to day life so quickly, just from pain and brain fog and emotions. How did you learn that wasn't normal? Would you do that? Okay, so I'm so glad you're asking this question. I want to make sure that everyone who's listening knows the information I'm sharing with you today comes from a gentleman who calls himself medical medium. His name is Anthony William, the medical medium. All my dietary advice comes from him. So yes, the foot zoning helped and the advice my foot

sooner gave me helped a few years later, I found his first book. That was nine years ago. And his information is what took me all the way to well and helped me understand what was going on in my body. So he's the one who taught me that the reason we have so many PMS symptoms is because every time a woman menstruates her liver or her immune system is compromised by 60% and it's because the liver is working so hard. And so any pathogen you have in the body is going to flare up. So really all of our PMS symptoms are viruses and bacteria having a little party. And also when we ovulate that our symptoms go to our immune system is compromised by 40%. So women, and we just twice a month, like our immune system is very busy. And so we will have more chronic illness because of these times in our menstruation cycle when our immune system is compromised. So PMS symptoms are essentially Epstein bar systems symptoms. The cysts on your ovaries,

that is so common. Epstein bar will feed off of toxic chemicals, medications and all of the fillers and stabilizers that come with them. So medications can actually flare up your Epstein bar. So it's likely they were feeding off your medications and that's why you got the cysts after you took your medication. But that is a classic Epstein bar symptom. All the fertility issues that are going around Epstein bar or other viruses. I just named that one specifically. And Michelle, I just feel called to say this, if you're a man, you have got no earthly idea of what's going on with the people that that you love because I was telling my sister that about Michelle's week from hell. And she said, Oh, yeah, my daughter used to pass my niece used to pass out. Listen, what? She passed out. You're losing so much blood. And I always wonder about why don't we have like an IV or something through the like we need some sort of a reboot. But

if your body's naturally doing that on its own, like this brings me down so many rabbit holes because ever since I had that birth control that caused this that caused that. And then from there on, I've had nine miscarriages and I don't have my own child. And they tell me every single time this is normal. Your body is treating it as a virus. You know, all the things that every woman gets told, and we still don't have answers. And we still don't know how to help ourselves. No matter the kind of information we get, that's why having you on the show is so so so so so important. So thank you, Connie, for being here. Let's take our halftime break. And then just die even deeper. And before we go there, Michelle, I would love for you to give everyone her website. So they can write it down, say it real slowly, because they're going to need at least 50% of the population anyway, is going to need to to talk with her. So what's your website? Yeah,

so if you're listening to this and cannot see it on the screen, it is Connie Salgado that is C-O-N-N-I-E-S-A-L-G-A-D-O. And that is her website is her name Connie Salgado Wellness.com. She's got everything right up in front of you. You can click on what you need and how she can help you so you can contact her and get information. We may not share on the show. So take a look at that while we're on this break and don't go anywhere. Well, and I can tell you before we go to break to the Connie, you're going to have to come back again because we're not going to be able to get everything out that we would like to. And there's so many conditions that people have that the doctors say, hmm, I don't know. Let's do some blood tests. Well, your blood came back normal. And so I get just the way it is. And it's like that's not acceptable. I'm glad you're feeling a lot better and you are going to be able to help other people get into that place as well. Connie Salgado is our

guest. And you need to go to our website, Connie Salgado wellness.com. We need to take a quick break. We'll be right back. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much. This show is everything I needed and more and I didn't even know. Isn't it amazing how quickly you find out what you don't know when you don't know it and then you find out that you don't now know it. And then you realize that you all don't know anything else either. So that's it. Now Connie you were talking about and I'm really curious about this because of the autoimmune diseases and that kind of stuff. You said that there is this virus and it affects 95% of us as human beings as part of our natural condition apparently that they didn't know was part of our natural condition apparently. So how do we fix it? And I know there's got to be more to it than just here take this and it'll all be better. That's right. That's a great question and you're right. It's not a simple answer but I can tell you some basics. So decades ago

scientists started using eggs in laboratory to culture viruses to study them. Epstein Bar was among them. Those viruses adapted to feed off of eggs. When we have a virus eggs will feed that virus. They also adapted to feed off of dairy and wheat, the gluten and wheat. These foods, eggs, wheat and dairy have proteins that these viruses will feed off of. So one of the first things we can do is to start eliminating eggs wheat and dairy from our diet and start eating more fruits and vegetables. We have a no idea how healing fruits and vegetables are. There's a whole book written by this gentleman Anthony William called Life Changing Foods. That's all about the healing properties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. So right there that shift will change the environment in your body. And then there are a couple supplements which are necessary zinc. Epstein Bar gobbles up your zinc and zinc is needed in the livers over 2000 function. So a liquid

zinc sulfate supplement is absolutely necessary if you have any chronic symptoms. The other one is B12 and there are a lot of forms of B12 which are not effective. You need a liquid B12 because it needs to enter through your mouth. It needs to be a dental silk abalamin and methyl cobalamin. That is the forms the body can use and our livers have to methylate it. So you can't get it from an animal. It can't be from a laboratory that's already methylated. Our livers have to methylate it to make it useful. Those everything else basically you can get from fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. But those two we just can't get enough of. This earth soils are depleted in zinc so no matter how many fruits and vegetables you eat you won't get enough to overcome the deficiency. And B12 is made by the good bacteria in our gut. And if we have chronic illness then our gut health is not good enough to make enough B12. So those with those two supplements really the body can start to function properly. Now there are other supplements and herbs which can be helpful and which can help it happen faster. But those are the basic ones and then there's another thing which

is really useful which you may have heard of and that's juicing celery. Do Cubs of freshly pressed, slain, celery juice, first thing in the morning. It has this delicate sodium cluster salt which kills viruses and bacteria and other pathogens on contact. So in order for those salts to stay intact it has to be plain, it has to be fresh and then you get you start to kill your viruses and bacteria. It floods the nervous system with minerals and trace minerals that it needs to repair and function properly. It has so many health benefits that Anthony William wrote a whole book on it. You can look up celery juice and find a book written about it. It will absolutely rejuvenate your entire digestive system. It will lower your inflammation. One of the best anti-inflammatories. I got a question. I got a question. Yes. One of the things about celery is it's very, very has a lot of water content. And one of the things that we are all concerned about is

jet fuel and other things that get into the soil and they can get then into the I'm scaring people right now I know. But if anybody ever asked how E. coli got into celery or got into spinach it's because it came from the soil and so forth. So do we need to be careful about the type of celery that we buy or where we buy it from? It's always best to get organic produce when it's available and locally grown if possible. But I have never been able to get my hands on locally grown celery and I have been able to heal. And someone who's close to me does not afford organic celery and he has been able to heal the majority of his symptoms. So it can only afford or get conventional produce that's better than nothing. It will still do very much good. And also, yes, it does contain those toxins but they are going to pass right through your body. They're not going to stick

in your body because the celery juice is just going to flush them right out. That's good information to know right there because there is this fear of eating something and it's like salmon has got a flame retardant in it because they eat, you know, so our planet is so polluted in every place. There is a jet fuel in the Colorado River. There is jet fuel and fire retardant and that goes into the into Southern California, by the way, and all of that. So we need to be careful of those. But what you're saying is that in the right amount, the right things can overcome some of the issues that we have. Absolutely. I mean, I'm living proof. It's not just possibly yes, yes it can. And that has been so comforting to me because I am aware of all the pollution

that's on the planet and it can feel terrifying. Like, is there any hope for me to be healthy when I am surrounded by toxins? And yes, if you follow, you know, if you read in a comedian's book and follow his advice, you will find that you can heal in spite of all the toxins that surround you. One of the big factors is this, he talks about this smoothie. He calls the heavy metal detox smoothie, but it actually binds on to all kinds of toxins like jet fuel and flame retardant and escorts them safely out of the body. There's five foods, wild blueberries, cilantro, barleygrass juice powder, spirulina, and Atlantic Dulse, which bind onto toxins, they pass them off to each other. So there's not like one food that'll just bind onto a toxin and escort it all the way out of the body. They help each other out. It's best to take them all within a 24 hour period and the smoothie is just the easiest way to do it. That smoothie will start to escort toxins safely out of your body, help your liver to function better, and it's incredibly nourishing at the same time. So you're detoxifying the tissues and repairing them at the same time, and that does get garbage

out of your body faster than it's coming in. And then I have to ask her. Go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. Yes, it's because I was telling Kevin this morning, one thing I started doing that I was seeing everywhere and originally heard from a guest was a pinch of Celtic salt in your water every morning. Oh, I'm so glad you brought this up because really the salts we need are the cell salts that are in greens and vegetables like celery and cucumber. Sea salt is not ideal, and it overwhelmed our system and it actually prevents water from getting into the cell. So that is going to work against you. You're better off squeezing half a lemon or lime into two cups of water in the morning. That's a fantastic way to hydrate your body. And the trees of lemon and lime trees, their roots go deeper into the ground than any other fruit tree. And so they pull up trace minerals and nutrients fuel our nervous system. So you're getting excellent, excellent medicine when you do this lemon lime water first thing in the morning, you will get all the salts you need

from that. And especially if you follow it up with celery juice, that would be an ideal morning routine. But yeah, the salt will interfere not to say that you shouldn't eat any salt, but I wouldn't hydrate. I wouldn't add extra salt to the diet to not be supplemented with salt. We get already way more salt than we need. So I have to ask you speaking as an employer, how do I get rid of hell week? Yes. So lowering your fat intake is a great way to start. And that might seem counterintuitive, but the liver has to process our fat. And so when you take a burden off the liver, then it allows it to function better. So lower your fat, I would say get on zinc and be 12. I would save lemon water and celery juice in the morning. And then reduce, yeah, start moving away from eggs, wheat, and dairy. If you're brave enough to just go cold turkey, do it. If not, you know, just start tapering off. And then specifically for this issue, raspberry leaf tea and Natalie, I do them together, like a cup of raspberry leaf and Natalie tea, especially in the afternoon

or evening, is awesome for helping to restore the health of the reproductive. Yeah, and I tell you that makes me sad in Kevin's laughing, which is just great. Because if I could eat steak and eggs and cheese and butter and all the things every single day, that is exactly what I would do. And that's kind of what I've been doing, if I'm being honest. But and, you know, I want to ask you this before we go to the break, was it just this immediate thing that you did where, because somebody hearing this is going to be like, oh my gosh, they're telling me that I can't eat a hamburger and I can't do this and I can't do that. And I don't hear you necessarily saying not to do it, but what's your experience? Just this giant flip over where you just transitioned your whole body because I've heard that can put your body in shock. Or did you give yourself space and time to kind of ease into all these things? That's such a great question. At first, I tried eliminating all animal products just to lower my protein intake. And I found that helpful, but I was still having a lot of inflammation. And I read this book called Wheat Belly that talked about how wheat

can influence the body and cause chronic inflammation. So I then went off wheat for a little while, but then I started eating more animal products because I didn't know what else to eat, but my inflammation just went right away when I went off of wheat. So for me, that was a huge factor. And then after that, it took a few years for me to completely eliminate eggs being dairy from my diet. It's a journey. That's why I say, just start minimizing it. So you get some relief. So you're not feeding your pathogens as much. Some people are so miserable though that they're highly motivated and willing to just completely shift their diet all at once. And that can be hard. It can be hard to maintain. And it can cause a little shock to the system. But when you're so miserable and you're desperate for relief, it's like, who cares? I already feel so miserable. I'm not going to feel worse. So I see it just depends on your level of misery, honestly. And deprivation never feels good. If we just feel like we're not enjoying life because we can't have that hamburger,

then have that hamburger. But in the meantime, start exploring other options. Just maybe a healthier hamburger. Right. Right. Or just foods that are naturally gluten free and dairy free that are really delicious. So yeah, it's a journey. It is a journey. Now in the beginning, there were times when I had to go completely egg wheat and dairy free. And then now that I'm well, I can have some here and there and I feel fine. So it just depends how quickly you want to heal and how miserable you are. That's right. Well, I know Michelle had a sad look on her face when you said, said about beef. Tell me chicken is better. Oh, so I don't want to give any people the wrong idea. So meat does not feed pathogens directly, but it is high and fat. Even lean meats have quite a bit of fat. So I am not suggesting you have to cut out meat. That was something I tried for a little while. And now I eat a little meat here and there. But honestly, I just feel better when I don't. But sometimes I would rather eat the meat than feel my best.

Yes, but we need there. We don't need nearly as much as we're told that we do. And actually, there are fruits and vegetables that have healthy fat. So when I, yes, avocado is a perfect example of a healthy fat. It's probably one of the best. However, when I want to really level up my help, let's say like after I got COVID, I had some really gnarly symptoms for a while brain fog and fatigue that was kind of hanging on. I ate completely raw fruits and vegetables for a couple of weeks and about three weeks. And I felt so much better afterwards. It just leveled up my health in a way that like I never went back to feeling that bad again. So there are times when I do medical medium has a 369 liver cleanse. And it is completely raw fruits and vegetable specific ones. It's a very specific eating regime regime or whatever that word is. Regimen. Regimen. Thank you. That always levels up my health. And so I say, yes, you can eat some eggs vegan dairy. You don't have

to cut out meat completely, but when I want to really get well, then I will eat completely raw for a little while. So tell me, is chicken better? Oh, that's a good question. I would say, no, not necessarily. There's a big fuss about all the saturated fats in beef. They're not really worse than chicken. And beef actually has more nutrition than chicken. So if you're going to go ahead and eat meat, I actually think beef is the best choice. Also cows have good lymphatic systems. So their meat tends to be cleaner. Like pig meat pork, you don't want to touch that stuff because they don't have a lymphatic system. All their garbage goes into their muscles and their flesh, which is why it tastes so good. Not equals flavor. Don't you know, not every song change. And but before we go to break, and I hit the wrong button by accident, but before we go to break, I have to tell you a quick story. And maybe the universe is giving me a hint because I buy my

groceries from Amazon and have it delivered because it's just easier for me. And there's a story behind that, but I won't go into. And so I ordered ordered chicken wings and they didn't send me chicken wings. They sent me frozen blueberries. So I'm going to ask you when we come back. I've got four pounds of frozen blueberries sitting in my and my refrigerator. And I want to know, is that a good thing to have? And should I be using it instead of putting in the refrigerator? We'll be right back. Not every song changes you, but the right ones too. At greatest vibes unplugged. We share music that it's deeper. No filters. No noise. Just pure sound with soul. This is your reminder that light still exists. And sometimes it sings. And remember, you can look up in the sky and see the stars, but still not see the light. And welcome back to Positive Talk with Kevin and Michelle, which by the way,

Connie, we also do a music show, the two of us on the Brushwood Media Network at 9 a.m. in the east and 6 a.m. in the west. And we play music, great music. And well, music from like, you know, my era. So it's like 40 or 50 years old and some from Michelle's and, but we do that and we have a great time with it. So, so we would love for people to go there. But please tell me that the universe wasn't sending me a message when it said, no, no, no, you don't need chicken wings. Here's some blueberries. I'm curious. Did those happen to be wild blueberries? Do you remember? Are they just conventional blueberries or? I don't. I don't know. I'll have to I'll have to look at the package, but it's for if they're frozen. Is that does that matter? No, no. Frozen is great. Blueberries are fantastic nutrition. All fruits, especially berries are very nutritious. And you could probably make a really delicious smoothie out of that with a little bit of orange juice, banana and some spinach. If they're wild blueberries, even better. So one of the those

five ingredients I told you in that smoothie is wild blueberries. And is there a little different than the cultivated blueberry, which is white on the inside. Wild blueberries are going to be blue all the way through. They are loaded with incredible nutrition that will level up your health. Well, Michelle, take over. I'm going to go get my blueberries. Okay, yes, go check. No, I have to ask you this Connie because my mom had this book that we read and it helped us start learning a lot of things and they'll say, oh, well, that's against my blood type. I hear that come up all the time. And one thing that we did find that was for all blood types that this book said doesn't separate any humans was chlorophyll. And no, people I'm not talking about chloroforms. So just chlorophyll, which is like plant blood. Are you familiar with that? And have you used it? Yeah, I haven't found it necessary because I eat Carolina. That's going to have chlorophyll in it. I eat a lot of plants. If you're eating, you're going to get chlorophyll. I haven't found

it necessary to supplement chlorophyll. So they're not wrong. But do you need a chlorophyll supplement? No, I think you're far off or you're far better off doing spirulina and barley grease, grass juice powder in your smoothie every day and getting it directly from the source. Okay, from the natural, you know, from the whole food and not extracted. Yes. Okay, let's back with those blueberries. What did you find out? They're organic. They're organic blueberries, organic blueberries, but not wild, which is fine. They're still very nutritious. How would I know if it if it's wild? Would it say it on there? It would. It would say wild blueberry. And when you cut it open, it would be blue all the way through. If you take one of those out and cut it open, it'll be white on the inside. I'll be right back. Well, maybe he got a different bag and now we need to see what that one is. But I'm going to. No, this is really this is really good education for people if they want to know to look at packages and find out how to tell something that's good

from something that's great and all that kind of stuff and to be a little bit more discerning. So I'm going to go cut one open and I'll bring it back and tell me you can tell me what to think. All right, and I want to push forward the question I had originally for you, Connie, if I can, about blood type and if that matters as much as we're told. Well, my opinion is no. Um, I am familiar with that book. I had someone suggested to me years ago and I took a look at it and I just thought, well, I'm, I'm trying this other thing right now. So I can't really, I can't really try that on right now. But I have been able to heal following medical mediums advice. I also just can't trust any source that's going to say some fruits and vegetables are your blood type or anyone that's saying you need to eat a lot of meat or anything that the lot of fat like that just goes against what has worked for me. Yeah. Now there may be subtle differences between blood type, not enough that it would, it shouldn't stop anyone from following medical mediums advice, lowering their fat and eating mostly fruits and vegetables. That's where

the healing is regardless of your blood type. So what exactly is medical medium? Where did you find that? Uh, well, I found his first book nine years ago, but for decades, he'd been seeing clients. And since the time he was four years old, he's been hearing a voice that tells him what's wrong with people and how they can heal. Now my molecular biologist was like, this is where the doctor was just so uncomfortable at the time. But and also when I read his book, he helped me understand like how the liver and the adrenals play a role in what it was going on. It does kind of look blue all the way through. Nope, that's white. That's white. Well, I don't want a dog on a cultivated blueberry because they are at least as healthy as strawberries and raspberries and all the other berries. They're just not like the exceptional super food that wild blueberries are. Chicken, that would be a yes. But it was Sunday and the football game was on. I was so looking

forward to chicken wings. I'm like, so disappointing. I know. Yes, well, my team bought me an air fryer, which is is better to do chicken wings and stuff in an air fryer than it is a deep fat fryer. And so I was looking so forward to that. And then I got blueberries. But apparently, the universe said, you need to clean up your diet a little bit. That dude. You can pop the berries like popcorn. They're pretty good. I'm not well in there. Also, low in calories and high in antioxidants and stuff like that. Absolutely. But as is most food, we just have to learn about it. So thank you for spending this time with us, Connie. As we get down to our last minute and Kevin is going to love blueberries. I can't wait. For you to have started that game with them. That's an actual fruit. That's not bad. There are people that know me and that are in our audience going, I can't believe he just ate some fruit. That's amazing. I haven't had an effect on people. Connie, you are wonderful. Will you come back and talk

to us some more? I would love to. There's a whole other component besides just food, which is healing your inner child and learning to love yourself and meditating that we didn't even touch on. So that would be another great. I'll have a brand new conversation next time. As we go out, please share with us your website anyways other than that to contact you and find what you're doing. And then maybe just a little message you'd like to leave us for as a thought. Awesome. So my website again is connyselgatowellness.com. You can reach out to me there and see what offerings I have. I'm also on social media, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and my my account is empowering wellness now. So empowering wellness now on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. And those are probably the best ways to reach me and see what I'm all about. If there's one thing I could leave you with, it's that no matter what you are suffering with, no matter how sick you are or how long you've had your symptoms, your body can heal. It is not

that is a very empowering statement. And so thank you so much. And so again, your website again is connyselgatowellness.com. I have one quick question for you. This is the yes or no because they tell me that I have low vitamin D. And so I'm taking a supplement for vitamin D. I don't go in the sun because I've had skin cancer. So is that the right thing to do? It's a fine thing to do. It's a downstream effect of low zinc, but yes, it's useful. So I need to be taking zinc too. Yeah, zinc, zinc deficiency causes the D deficiency. And they don't even know that. That's just so frightening. So kindly thank you so much. Thank you so much. Thank you for being part of positive talk with Kevin McDonald, where stories inspire and voices remind us of what truly matters. May today's conversation give you hope, courage and a reason to keep moving forward and just remember. Till next time, be kind to one another because each other's all we've got.
