On April 28th, a city of London police firearms sergeant just got cleared of sexual assault charges after a night out at a cocktail bar. 55-year-old S.G. Constantino, Simeonitis, faced accusations from a female officer who said he grabbed her from behind and pulled down her tights. But after two trials, a jury at Interlending Crown Court found him not guilty of sexual assault and assault by penetration this past Monday. The first trial last year ended without a verdict, so they had to do it all over again. Simeonitis told the court they had been flirting all evening and any contact felt completely consensual to him. He even broke down in tears while giving evidence admitting he was in a long-term relationship of more than 20 years. The woman described feeling embarrassed and humiliated after the incident, saying she had switched to water by the time they hit the bar. Meanwhile, Simeonitis pushed back, insisting everything seemed friendly and she appeared happy at the time. This guy's got a solid background in policing.

He helped respond to the Westminster and Burrow Market terror attacks earning commendations for exceptional service. He trained as a firearms officer back in 2003 with Tems Valley Police. Did six years at the Met from 2015 to 2021 and was up for promotion with City of London when the claims surfaced in 2022. He's been suspended since his arrest, but now with the not guilty verdict, that chapter closes, letting him move forward after the long legal fight.
