Police Bust Cannabis Operation in Nottinghamshire

0:00On March 21st, police and Nottinghamshire's city-west area discovered a major cannabis operation inside a bungalow on Wales Becresson in Beechdale. Neighborhood officers were checking out reports of drug activity when the resident, 29-year-old Mon Hoi Tai, let them inside. Right away they spotted more than 200 plants set up across four different growing areas in the house. Officers found plants crammed into a bedroom and even climbed a ladder to uncover three more cultivation spots in the loft. The setup included all kinds of equipment, but the biggest concern was the risky changes made to the wiring to power the lights and fans, creating a serious fire hazard. These home-based grows often tie into wider crime, exploit vulnerable people, and endanger whole neighborhoods with those electrical bypasses. Sergeant Daniel Shesby, from Nottinghamshire Police, highlighted how they bring nothing good to communities and praise the quick takedown. Tai was arrested around 3.40pm on Monday, March 16th.

1:02Less than 24 hours later, the man with no fixed address pleaded guilty to producing cannabis at Nottinghamshire magistrates court and got six. Months in prison that same day, March 17th.
