He joined ahead of the 2023 Scouting Cycle under General Manager Omar Khan and covered the South region like a pro. Before landing in Pittsburgh, Watts spent 15 years with the nearer Giants helping them snag two Super Bowl wins as their Southwest Scout. He also ran things as General Manager for the UofL Mallors in Spring League and worked with the Senior Bowl. Since an insider see this as part of the usual post-strap shuffle, where contracts wrap up and staffs get refreshed, the Steelers already brought in Tim Gribble to handle Midwest spots like Kentucky and Iowa, possibly stepping into Watts' role.
