Pittsburgh Steelers Rookies Battle for Spots

0:00On April 28th, Pittsburgh Steelers gearing up for their annual rookie minicam at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for May 8th through 10th. They're rolling up the full 2026 NFL draft class, all the undrafted free agents they signed right after the draft, plus a bunch of, tryout players looking to earn a spot. These tryout spots are no joke. Most years, the Steelers snag at least one player from camp and add them to the 90-man roster. It's a legit pathway for hungry athletes to break in. Last year proved it, when they inked wide receiver and running back Max Hurlman, offensive lineman Gareth Warren, and veteran running back tray. Sermon, straight out of tryouts. That kind of success keeps the competition fierce. This time around, standout invites include, Penn State Punter, Gabe Nawasu, a towering 6 foot 6 frame packing over 300 pounds and a cannon.
