Housing affordability is another major focus of Silliman's campaign. He has highlighted that growth management act restrictions, impact fees, zoning limitations, permitting expenses, and increasingly stringent building codes collectively add an estimated 164,000 to $200,000 to the cost of a new home in Washington. As a county counselor, he would work to reduce unnecessary regulatory barriers that drive up housing costs for Clark County families. Livability, Silliman emphasized, extends beyond housing.
