Person detained in Nancy Guthrie search, then released

A man was released after being detained in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, even as the FBI released video of a masked person outside her door the night she vanished. In other headlines, seven people were found dead in a shooting at a high school in British Columbia, with additional victims discovered at a nearby residence. Such tragedies remind us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and that the “will to power” has marked human nature from Jefferson and Lincoln to today. Our only way forward is God’s promise: “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.”
