Penticton Teens' Art Blooms on Lakeshore

0:00Fourteen artists from Penn Tickton, British Columbia, just got their designs up on street banners along Lakeshore Drive by Okanagan Lake. The city picked Ehrlich Denison, 16, Elise Irwin, 13, Annabelle Ironside, 14, and Kai Halverson, 16, earlier this year to bring. Some fresh color to the town. These kids came out of a 10-week afterschool program at the Penn Tickton Art Gallery. The city reached out to the gallery to spotlight local talent and push young creators toward our careers. Annabelle loved using chalk pastels for her succulent design, calling you really cool. Kai went for bright, textured sun, clouds, and green horizons, saying she wanted folks to feel the details. Gallery director Jim Minchul called it heartwarming, proved that arts thriving with the youth. Their pieces draw from Penn Tickton's natural vibes, vineyards, lakes, birds, and greenery.
