Pearl, 6, Saves Mom with 999 Call

0:00On April 9th, last summer in Coiton, six-year-old Pearl grabbed the phone in doubt 999 when her mom Carol collapsed from a serious brain bleed. Carol, 36 at the time, had a seizure and blacked out, leaving Pearl alone with her four-year-old sister Amelia. Pearl kept her cool on the call, telling the operator her mom was on the sofa, not awake, with eyes opening and closing, foaming at the mouth, and shaking. She even gave the exact address and checked her mom's breathing like instructed. Paramedics rushed in within minutes, got Carol to the hospital for treatment, and she's made a full recovery since. The crew called the girls incredible for staying calm and helping out in that scary moment. To celebrate their quick thinking, operator Jen and paramedic Charlotte met Pearl and Amelia, handed over commendation certificates, and gave them a tour of the ambulance with all the life-saving gear. Things like this hit home teaching kids how to call for help can straight up save lives, and Pearl proved it under pressure.
