Peach State Power Hour: Georgia ROLLS over Tennessee State

0:00Yeah, but just a celebration when he does that little, you know, when he's, you know, up in the air, he's just great. He's so fun to watch. I'm just saying SEC go go go SEC. I'm just I'll just say this. The hawks are going to have a problem because the nicks will bang them hard inside because they're just they have huge guys and we don't have that. Welcome me, ladies and gentlemen to another edition of the P. State Power Hour. I wish y'all could see Eddie. I looked down to the bottom of my screen and do to cracking up at the end of that right before it switches on where everybody's on camera. Game week edition again to the PC power Georgia football is back folks. Finally week one has come and gone aside from Penn State SMU, which by the way, I have a steep.

1:03Largest state. Largest state. Largest state. My bad. Oh my god. I'm worse than Paul this week, but at least I knew who George played. So you didn't know who Georgia played. It's true. It's a good point. After watching the game. I have a sneak. Well, he didn't really watch the game for what I understood. It's not like watching the place, which is even worse. Can you believe this guy was the host of this show? I can't. Anyways, I have a sneaky suspicion that after an awesome weekend and awesome 48 hours hell maybe even 72 to like 90 some hours when you start on Thursday that we have an absolute stinker tonight starting at prime time. I just I don't think it's going to deliver. They're going to be watching too bad football teams just go at it. And I don't think it's going to be particularly good. So spoiler, if you have any intention of potentially turning this show off to go watch that. Whatever you want to call that. Don't do it. You're not miss much. Stay here at the end of this show and then go watch the rest of that game. Randy Payne is doing both. He's the man of many talents. Yeah, that can be done nowadays. Yeah.

2:11It can be done. Who knows Andy was talking about taking a nap, Mitch. So maybe he'll do that. He's tired. I've been driving a lot today. I'm tired. Up CT. Well, with that said, let's dive straight into what we saw on Saturday. Fellas, congratulations on the post game over reaction show. I got it correct today. Okay, kicked off a new season in style. I watched like the first hour of it. Basically the entire time Eddie was there. And then I turned it off because I was tired of listening to Stowe. So I was tired of listening to myself too. Shot to stow. I'm usually the one that takes the shot. Stowe's taking them. Wow. I'm tired today. You can say anything. I'm not saying anything out of mind. Alright, well, yeah. Terrific out. Well, I'll just say this Harrison. Thank you to the post game over reaction show is awesome. It was really fun. I will say this also Andy. The first time being the host and there's a lot going on as you well know Harrison got chats coming in. You got people wanting to get online. You got to listen to what's going on in the show.

3:17Andy for the first time did a phenomenal job in keeping the show together, putting up relevant comments and interjecting when he could and I was just very impressed because that is not easy to do. So kudos to you Andy. And of course we had the legend Rusty man's L on which made the show that made a lot easier. So yeah. And for those listening, I'll just go ahead and say it now Andy will say it again on Saturday after the game. We did have the right link up at the beginning of the show to come on. We had a couple of people come on after that. Somehow we put up a bad link and people couldn't get in. So we will fix that next week. People can come on live and talk about what they saw in the game. So we'll have that fix. But anyway, post game over reaction show next Sunday Saturday. Thank you for pointing that out. We're here at the Peach State Power Hour to talk about Georgia football. It's a beautiful day. It is. Your Georgia football game. And it's Labor Day. We didn't have to play. It is Labor Day. Yeah, I was going to. I worked with this. I don't know about y'all. Well, your your job sucks. But it was 70 degrees and Labor Day 70 degrees football. Come on. Can't get it doesn't get much better than that.

4:25And I was up in gunner Stockton's neck of the woods. I saw his high school stadium. It is a nice place. So I was. They have a statue for him up there or a banner or something. What is it? I didn't drive in. So they have one out of fire branch. Once he's done and they're going to put in a pause for on yard. They get a national championship. They're going to they're going to rename that Raymond County field. The gunner Stockton field calls that would be which I did see. I saw they had it some sort of like poster or something of crap tied in East Bay Georgia. I can't remember his name. He plays for the Falcons. Charlie Warner. Charlie Warner. They had a picture Charlie Warner up there. Yeah. It was pretty cool. I was going to say I was like, you play for the fact. There we go. Yeah. All right. Enough of the Yicke Yak will get straight into it and Saturday's game. I know you already talked about it at Nazium on post game of reaction. So just we'll start there in terms of just kind of what are your all's takeaways. What will you tell us later? Yeah. I want to hear yours. You were there on the field. So what was your tape and and one of the things from looking at it on the TV was the eyeball test. Our guys looking massive.

5:35Their guys look like they should be playing middle school football is that what you saw there. What was like how did it look different size wise. I mean, there's definitely a size differential for sure. I think you can essentially see that, especially along the lines, which not to be unexpected. I mean, you pretty much expect that when you're playing a team like that, especially in that type of situation. But I saw you called this out on the POS. You know, the first thing they did when they got that stadium, I captured on video, put it on Twitter was they had their phones out like taking videos, taking it. That's cool. Yeah, that was cool. You don't always see that with these. Tell my Tennessee state. Right. Yeah. Tennessee state. Yes. So what's the point of this was taking videos of stadium getting acclimated with the atmosphere, which is really cool to see. Because look, these are costable players today, whether that Tennessee state, East Tennessee state, shout out Paul, Georgia, Alabama. It's like taking the moment, taking the fact you're going to be there. And I thought coach, Barlow, Tennessee state set coach at the end of the game, post game, talked about that.

6:41This was something that his players said they dreamed about having the opportunity to go play in stadium, go play in front of 93,000 fans. Like this was a big stage for them, a big moment. It's something they're going to talk about for the rest of their lives. Because you may not ever play and say him like that again. But in terms of the actual game, I will say, don't know if I've ever sweat as much as I did that game. That's probably the hottest sport of it I've ever been to. Well, I think they said it was the hottest game ever is, and for stadium, right? Look, I sat on like the up in like the nosebleeds out of Texas, though, you game like three years ago, when the cop both of it first time, that was really hot. You're just getting into some beam on you came starts 11 a.m. You can't escape it. You're just in the sun all day. This was whole different. I mean, there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide from the heat in San for stadium. You're just getting beamed until that overcast front rolls in there and kind of helps you out. But other than that was really impressed with the atmosphere in terms of pregame thought fans showed up showed out.

7:48I don't blame them for leaving early. I mean, it was it's now it's 22 this afternoon and even yesterday. It's kind of funny when you roll in from the end of the first half, the beginning of the second half, Georgia's first touchdown of the half. The lower bowl is just a ghost town. Like everybody got out of there quickly. But you get it. You understand. Oh, 100% 100% I get it. In terms of the actual game itself. I mean, I know we were talking about this privately and Eddie was giving me crap, which look, that's the daily occurrence. I live to do that. He does. He does. I try not to like take a lot out of this and I'm glad that football is back and I love that we can actually break down a real Georgia game. I'm just anxious to get to an Arkansas or get to an Oklahoma. Sure, you can make more conclusions about it because look at the end of the day like Kirby smart said time and time again. It's Tennessee state. Yes, Paul Tennessee state. But Harrison, one of the things I pointed out on the post game over the action show was a lot of times Georgia will play with its food in these games.

8:51They they they will not dominate the offensive line. They will not go out there and score the 63. There's been there's been games where we play teams like this in 135 to 10. So that's like that's what was impressive to me. We actually did what we were supposed to do. So you saw all that you like that. Well, I was going to say LSU down. Kirby dropped 63 points on the team. I haven't done that since the last championship game. That's not having done that since Florida state. I'm sorry. Yeah, right. But yeah, but like that's yeah, we I think we took Florida stick soul that game too. And actually, and also TCU soul. But I think you broke Florida state that game. Yeah, yeah, they they killed them, but they made excuses anyway. But yeah, we did that. And that is something we have not been doing. So Harrison, I know it was Eastern Tennessee state Paul. But it was a it was impressive. And we played 105 guys or whatever. And we have we saw guys look like they're the part. And I saw people talking about PJ Dean. PJ Dean looks like he's the part. And I see Andrew butts talking about Chris Cole might might get a helmet sticker from me in a little bit. That dude is he's the guy.

9:59He's the guy that's everywhere. One of my one of the last things I saw from watching the defensive tape. I always watch offense first is, and I saw Justin Williams lineup off the edge, which is something we hadn't really seen much from him over the last few years, giving those guys reps. It's a situation where you typically won't see them. I didn't see much of really Wilson line off the edge and understand. So we've seen what that guy can do. You don't need to do that in this type of game. But heck, you'll get Justin Williams some reps over there. Go let Elijah little John run around and do what he does. I mean, I like see a turnt panic there in the second half of that game. That dude's a ball of energy. I'm back here. Former safety baseball is built like a high school safety in terms of that guy was really slim. And when you turn on his high school tape, that dude was just getting downhill and making tackles just laying a stick a dynamite on some people's nice to see him in there. That doesn't sound who I don't think showed up on the stat sheet. But there are two straight plays in there where he's in the backfield. One of them, he hits nasty swim move, just immediately beats the guy.

11:05The next one, he gets around kind of bends around on a little like slant gets inside of a guard and gets a pressure on the quarterback. I think both plays he was credited with the pressure. Maybe not the first one. The first one with the swim move quarterback at the ball out. And then KJ or KJ Bolden laid a nasty hit on him, keeping short of the first downs. But it was nice to see those guys get some reps, some spots that look, we talked about it on Sunday, out in soon. I see someone talking about Josh Horton in here. Those guys are going to be pressed in the action. This is your Johnson. We saw quite a bit of. So not yet. Boko like those are the guys that when you get to Vanderbilt. Jordan Hall, right? Healthy, healthy Jordan Hall. That was nice. Like, yeah, those are the guys that the that the onus is now on without Xavier McLeod in that room to step up and play some big roles. Hey, do you guys know who the leading tackler tied, by the way, for the game was, I'll give you the one Tyron Jones, which is kind of obvious. You know, who was tied with three now three. It was three tackles. Yeah, let me let me hear if you guys get this right. You all know who it was.

12:14Yeah, you looked it up. Yeah, I knew from Saturday. Yeah, okay. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, yeah, it's just crazy. But Harrison, these games I always say are no wins situations, right? If we did what we did Saturday, everybody's going to say, what's the division to opponent? You're supposed to do that, right? Yeah, I mean, when 37, 14 like Andy's talking about a minute together, they're going to be like, what the hell's going on here? And all the fans will be doing that too. What do we really have here? But I look around the league a little bit the top 25 Alabama 48 to 10 Indiana 52 16 Ohio State 56 to 3 or well, I work in that done count. Texas 59 to 7. Isn't it nice to just look at a score? Regardless of who we played and it doesn't matter. We won 63 to 3 and saved the second quarter. We kind of floundered around a little bit. That was kind of a throwaway quarter. The first, the third and the fourth. He did the first, the third and the fourth. Where is good as you can ask for? I mean, no, almost no penalties.

13:22We look sharp as hell. The defense was unbelievable. The entire game again. I get it Tennessee State, but this is what you want to see on the first game out of the box. Give a little better next week. Go do this against Western Kentucky. And then we're off and running the SEC. Watch out Harrison. You know that microphone. Be careful there, buddy. Well, talking about Western Kentucky, Western Kentucky. I think it was rusty mentioned on the POS that he's like, yeah, Western Kentucky's going to be five times better than what we saw this week. Fine. What Western Kentucky got smoked by Nevada this weekend. They did. They did. I mean, I don't know. I've kind of thinking maybe we'll drop 50 on them as well. But my point, my overall point, Harrison, is that this as a fan base, which is what Andy and I are. You're covering the team. So it's a little different from your perspective. This is what you want to see. This is exactly what has been missing when we play opponents like this for a year after year after year. It's just been like Andy said, I think it's a perfect analogy playing with your food. That's what it looked like the past couple of years, you know, just kind of like almost going through the motions and maybe part of this plays in it's the first game. They were all focused on this right.

14:33And this was the one thing they've been talking about since the off season game one. Maybe it's a little different next week, but I don't care. I love the way the team came out today and injury free. That was the biggest thing. JC, we get excited about good scrimmage and I won't be able to tell about who can someone else or this who they are. There you go. Apparently, FSU hasn't doesn't have stadium lights tonight. Yeah, I just saw this. The power. Are they playing the gamers at delayed? It's delayed. It's delayed because the power outage. How do you do that in the first game in a year? So Kirby broke FSU. I mean, they're broke. They can even pay the power bill. I did see Chris Taylor wrote. Remember the CMR CMR days when the topic was are the players interested. And that was a thing. And but we've also seen that a little bit under Kirby, you know, like some of these little teams were like, what the heck are they doing? So that is a thing. Hey, man, these people are picking my helmet stickers. But you talked about he does he does James. Harrison, you were talking about the defense a little bit. Tell me about that offense. What did you see specifically on the offensive line because they were shifting some guys in.

15:48I think I think Gaston started out at right tackle. And then in the third series or something, he moved into right guard. Yeah, they did some shuffle, and which isn't surprising. You get those guys were actually especially a boat go and jot jacks. You want to see what you have on the secretary and office attack, especially with the injury history with Ernest Green. But I did like seeing that there really wasn't a real drop off there in terms of when you did move those guys around. You didn't have much drop off, which is good. Granted, we're going to say this a thousand times tonight. You're playing Tennessee State. So you should be able to dominate those guys with your second and third strings. I will say when you watch the third string, there are some funny bloopers on third Georgia's third string off the line. I won't put people on last night, but you can go find those plays. A little bit funny to watch. Anyways, first, second story, you didn't see really see a drop off. I really loved. I mean, man, Ernest Green. I love watching Georgia's offensive line get out space. It's fun. Year after year, these guys go out to kill when they get out in space for spring game for counter power, whatever gaff scheme when those guys are asked to park their happy dumper and go somewhere else.

17:04Those guys are out for violence and speak at a dumpers. We got a new addition to the peach state power hour. I know he's not the exact same position, but maybe that's a kid you rotate in. And one more thing, Xavier is kind of light in the dumper. Honestly, he's 65 to 84. Compare that to a bokeh who's 355. I mean, that's what you that you laugh, Harrison, but that's what you need right over center. Do you not you need that kind of big dumper and go ahead clip it. You can play that later because you will. You're right, Eddie. I did play it. I was waiting to put that in. I'm glad you played that about the big dumpers because I do have a question. I was listening to Jeff Danzer on the the what all brunch yesterday. And he mentioned one he good in the game, though, he's so good. He's just phenomenal. Yeah, he's great. But he was talking about the offensive line him and Kevin Butler. We're talking about the offensive line play. And they said they think that Phil Rousher has them spreading out more. He said like the last year or two, they thought the line went more closer and it looks like they got big gaps between.

18:05Did you see that was that something that you've sold tape. I was curious about that. That is an interesting point. I'm off the text brain about that. See if Brent noticed that. Yeah, it tells that that is something that like really I was. I was going to go on. Yeah, and that's what I thought. Maybe you and Brent had looked at some tape and I was wondering about that. So he said that obviously that speaks to the athleticism and the quickness on the offensive line as opposed to years pass is what you're saying. Andy, right? Yeah. I think it's probably I think there's multiple thought processes to that. You know, like maybe Stacy Cerels likes him a little bit tighter. I want him to get out, you know, apart from each other and maybe. Oh, so it's coaching maybe. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, he said that. Rousher brought it in from the maybe it's an NFL top thing. I don't know. But yeah, that is something. I think the split are a little bit wider in the NFL. Sure they are. Yeah. And so you obviously have sometimes some big humans in there. But my question is that maybe dictated by your athleticism on the offensive line. Could be. I mean, I don't know. I'm asking. Yeah, Alex is that dictated by the actual guys or is that just a coaching preference? And what would be the strengths and negatives of having the splits wider or closer?

19:14This is where we need co-chays. I guarantee he'd have an answer for that. These listen. It was a brand wrong. If we have Brent wrong. Yeah, Brent's not listening. He's busy. Yeah, him and Paul. But yeah, no, that was that was interesting. That is interesting. That is really interesting. Yeah. Point there by Jeff to even notice that that that now. Look, like it's it's different from you this year in terms of, you know, seeing the game on the field. It is nice to see that. But I was talking to to Roddie about this the other day. It's. You don't feel like you don't retain as much like I'm very much my takeaways now. Everything's so quick. I mean, see you watch. Yeah. And seeing it seeing it on rewatch as opposed to live in there on the field. That point when I'm on the field is it's mostly just hey, I'm looking for the ball and looking for it through my lens. Yeah, like that's pretty much seen the through a lens you're seeing it kind of through a mic, you know, not a mic. I guess kind of a microscope in terms of you're really up close on it.

20:15And that's really all you see you don't have time to see the wide spread out picture with free place, which man, you forget how nice is that replacement real time when watching the ball game. Until you don't have that. Let's go ahead and hit helmet stickers and then we will go to concerns if there are any for this George team. Andy before people rip off your helmet stickers, we'll go ahead and let you go first year. Yeah, so mine are scoby white and Chris Cole scoby white had four pun returns for 59 yards. He had a long of 35. I think he's going to take one to the house this year. He looks like he's a real weapon back there like he looks he looks faster to me looks like he's quicker. He just looks like he's ready to go this year. So I think he's going to be a weapon. And then Chris Cole, we talked about him earlier. He looks like he's the next necobie Dean, Rauquois myth, sac man Jones top that guy was all over the field. I know he only played a little bit of the game and he had, I don't know, a couple of titles, maybe at three and yeah, one solo and a half sack, but he looks like he's that guy. I think he's our next great linebacker and he anybody looks like he's the leader on the field. He looks like the coby Dean to me. So yeah Chris Cole for sure.

21:23Eddie. My goes to the entire offensive line and they they just road graded people again Tennessee state. I get it, but I want to point out 55 go back and watch the in zone view of Nate Frazier's 48 yards camper. Zacchae health and kind of chip blocks to the inside and then he gets up to the second level and abuses in linebacker. It was ridiculous and and of course Nate just read that and went right by his big dumper and went right to the end zone. Zacchae is ridiculous for being what, how does he hear us in 18. He's 18. Yeah. He's like 18. He is. He's a grown ass man. But overall out of the line was tremendous. My second one is number 19, quote unquote Jane Riddell. I mean, the best play of the day was called back because he mushed a guy in the face and took it to the house. And that is not a face mask, by the way. He's stiff arm. When you do that, guess what happens to your head? It goes down.

22:29Okay, he didn't grab his mask. He pushed him out of the way and he took it to the house. He broke about six tackles and he looked ridiculous doing it. He finally got a touchdown later, which was phenomenal. But Jane Riddell, we heard all that coming out of camp Harrison. How incredible this guy was. How fast he was. I mean, you can't say enough about him. I think he's going to dominate this here in college football. He looks, he looks tremendous. I can't wait to see what they do with him in conference play. I mean, you talk about, you know, Jake, Jake made a good point in Rusty talk with us on the Georgia show last night, which you haven't checked it out. Go check it out. I for this one. You don't have to leave this YouTube channel for all your George coverage. It's not fair to put on the Brock Bauer's comparisons. Now when you do it, Jane Riddell gave some moments out there that they certainly remind you 19 bouncing off people like a pinball machine on his way to the end zone. Looks like Brock Bauer's for two a B or whoever it was given the tie down the end around. We haven't seen that since the spring game, which before, you know, before then it was since the bar.

23:34It was in uniform. You'd see it tied and do that. Jane Riddell can move. Jane Riddell has been the talk of the op season since spring ball. And now you're starting to get the taste of what that looks like and how it translates into what he can do on the field in the actual game like scenario. I can't wait to see it play out in these bigger games where let's let's see if the the arpeo tie in in the flat comes back when you just have these guys that can get out in space and take a ball that's caught it minus one or zero or plus one and turn it into plus 15. That's what George's offense has got to be missing outside of Zach branch was a guy that can catch it, you know, and make it a much bigger game than just what people bitch about being, you know, a two year cream pass. And one more thing Harrison to jump in here real quick when we were doing our show and in I the post game over reaction show Rusty man's L brought up how hard they fought to keep this kid because Jane was offered left and right to leave the program.

24:35And what's awesome about that yeah they stepped it up they they helped the kid a good deal he wanted nothing to do with that I don't think he was even answering is he wanted to be a Georgia Bulldog again he got paid right that's how it works but I just think that whole story is tremendous that he wanted to be here and I mean why would you want to be here there's five tied ends on this roster that maybe I don't think I'm exaggerating there's five that could be NFL prospects are they're not and he wants to be here so I'm going to be here. Well getting to my home stickers I'll go ahead and put this one out there. I'll ask Williams I thought you look leaner. Meanor and moved much more fluid this this this year. I thought he was hitting getting up to a top speed much quicker than he did last year. I don't want to call him. Yeah, I don't want to say he was lumbering. I don't want to say it was slow last year. It just looked like it took a little bit to get up there in terms of speed. I thought he looked much leaner this year and I thought he moved a lot better as a result of it.

25:39I texted Jake about that I texted cheer me about that when you go watch him move on Saturday and I don't know I don't remember how many catches he had. It was mostly some of the some of the things I saw was him just trying to make a block down field getting out there in space and running. I thought he looked much better. It two catches. I thought he looked much much better. That's right because one of them was a touchdown. I'm sorry guys. In the flats too essentially. Yeah. I thought he looked much better and I thought he moved a lot better which can only mean good things for George's offense in terms of you have a guy that is six seven two hundred forty two hundred fifty pounds and can still move. Like that is. Damn it Andy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Get him out. Hey, by the way, when he made that little dive into the end zone my wife's like how did you not break his neck? He did great on his hack. Exactly. I mean, can you imagine the weight coming down? Just zero regard for his body. I'm getting the ends on here.

26:39I don't care. And he gets up and he's fine. But these guys are inhuman. They're aliens. It's unbelievable. I see a lot of people talking with transformers. Yeah. Second helmet sticker and I saw someone talk about him in the comments. Let me go scroll up and find it real quick because it's a good shout and somebody I think deserves all the praise in the world considering what he's been through over the last just the last. You're going to say Jeremy Bell. Yeah. That was awesome. The Luz A family member. Awesome. I think you have to go through that grief process. Step away for however long he was away and then come back and Kirby smart said he demanded he practiced and didn't take time off and to go out there on Saturday. To guys, he eliminated cushion on that on that touch on pass from Ryan Montgomery on that post that guy had like seven yards was off of him by like seven yards. He's got to say snap it. He's gaining more cushion and Jeremy Bell eliminates it in seconds and gets into his break balls right on him touchdown.

27:47And every time I ride my gummery on that through too. Oh, it was good. I mean, I was a dime in the bucket. That was perfect. And the other cool thing is the entire bench went bananas for Jeremy and rightly so right for everything the kids been through. But that's what this team does. They're cheering for these guys so much. And to me, Harrison Jeremy just looks taught. He looks stronger faster. I mean, he just looks like a different player than he did last year does he not. I'll put it this way. Is he the kind of kid. Is he the kind of kid that may make some impact that we didn't predict going into the season or is he still going to be kind of lost on the depth chart. That was a nice play against Tennessee state. And we don't see him again for a while. What do you think? It's hard because I think they have a lot of people in that room that are going to play meaningful snaps. You know, that that rotation is not set right now. Like I think I continue to see eight to nine guys.

28:49Maybe even through Arkansas play. But at some point, they're going to cut it down to like, hey, here's our six or normal six. Yeah. Okay. Will he make it into that six? If I had to guess right now, I think the six are going to be Canyon Humphries, Sikovie, talent Taylor. Don't forget that. And then you're holding. And Andrew. Andrew is a guy. He is like, I think those, I think those are the six that you see in there. Does George you go to seven or eight? If you go to seven or eight, then you're talking about Thomas Blacks here. Tyler Williams, which my god. I don't know how to call that. Yeah. I have no clue. I also, I saw when you go back and watch it, I can definitely see the tendency for my input. So see this and that's potenti-product. And I can see that a couple of Андels is excellent. And so that's how the 애 will like to see the effect and the sense of superhero image and the full moon the others with best of edges together.

29:50I'm so happy to see it. If I was someone who's caucuses to look, listen, in terms of. That dude has an absolute can but it can get himself into some trouble because he can do some like one percent things. because that arm plays that arm is a incredible yes it is I mean quickly see can throw a he's got the fastball so if he can figure it out that can play I mean because you got to have a guy that can sling it and he can definitely sling the ball oh yeah absolutely and I and that's what I kind of want to go into next quarterback two you know Ryan Pavicchi got the quarterback two for this week and really shouldn't be a surprise it's it's been the trend throughout Kirby smart time the veteran gets the first chance every time the guy who's been here the longest gets rewarded with a shot to go play the younger guy has to beat him out until he does so you
