Peace Officer Fellowship, Dealing with Substance Abuse
About this episode
One of the most stressful jobs in society today is that of a Police Officer. Whether you work for a City, County or State Law Enforcement agency, the pressures of the job can lead to an addition to alcohol or other substances. My guest, retired Lieutenant Eric Castano of the Los Angeles County Sheriff and I will discuss the issues of alcohol abuse in the ranks of Law Enforcement. We will also discuss the creation and growth of the Peace Officer Fellowship of which Lt. Castano is a member.
This organization includes men and women in Law Enforcement coming together to support each other in recovery. Recovery is a life-long commitment and many members of this Fellowship retired and moved to other states. They have helped to create chapters around the Country.
