InCharge Radio's Podcast — Paying For Job Listings. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
0:00paying for job listings. This is a money minute from in-charge education foundation and military money.com. Military spouses may be tempted by the many websites and companies out there that offer to find full-time work, work from home, or flexible part-time positions for a fee. But career experts agree that you should not need to pay for job listings or for a job. Most of the websites offering to find a job for a fee are simply charging for job listings that are available for free elsewhere. Job seekers might also be lured by personal marketers who offer to do the legwork for you. For hefty fee of $3,000 or more, they claim to be able to get you a dream job with a guaranteed salary increase. This is also a waste of money, and often a scam because real headhunters make their money by charging a hiring company, not the job seeker. The fact is, you're better off registering with a temporary work agency, employment agency, or executive search services, all of which will not charge you. And don't forget to register with the spouse employment assistance program on base. This money minute is made possible by in-charge debt solutions. Visit us online at www.incharge.org.
