Paxton's Filibuster Offer in Texas Senate Race

He says he would think about dropping out of the Republican primary, against Senator John Cornyn, if Senate leaders agreed to end the filibuster in pass. The Safeguard American Voter Elegibility Act, also known as the Save America Act. This comes as Paxton and Cornyn head to a runoff on May 26th, after neither won a majority in the first round. Paxton sees the bill as key to President Trump's goals, especially on voter rules. Paxton has slammed Cornyn for not backing the push to scrap the 60-vote filibuster threshold. He also points to his own strong support for Trump, from challenging the 2020 election to standing by him recently.
