Patriots Tender Jack Westover, Sign Reggie Gilliam

The New England Patriots have tendered full-back and tied in Jack Westover as an exclusive rights free agent. This locks him in with the team for now, since he cannot negotiate with anyone else and must sign the offer or sit out the entire season. Westover made the switch from tied in to full-back during the off season. He suited up for all 17 regular season games, playing 246 snaps total. He had just one reception that year, with no yards to show for it. In the playoffs, Westover saw action in all four games and even started in two. His highlight came with an eight yard catch against the Los Angeles Chargers in the wild car round. Meanwhile, the Patriots agreed to a three-year deal with full-back Regigilium from the Buffalo Bills. This adds fresh depth to the position. Now Westover faces real competition at full-back, with Gilliam on board and Brock Lampe expected to return. He should stick around as a reliable depth option.
