About this episode

The New England Patriots made their first free agent move of the off-season by signing outside linebacker Jesse Luccada to a one-year deal. The 27-year-old former Arizona Cardinal was a late-round pick, going 256 overall in the 2022 NFL. Draft. Luccada spent three seasons with Arizona, where he racked up 35 tackles in three sacks over 31 games, including three starts. He did not see any action last year. At six with three and 253 pounds, Luccita has the ideal size for the position. Still, his background shows some clear limitations. Scouts noted his underwhelming speed, clocking nearly a five-second 40-yard dash along with sub-par shuttle in three cone times. His bench press of just 17 reps ranked in the bottom 20th percentile for linebackers. Experts see him as a long-shot practice squad candidate at best, unlikely to crack the
final roster in September. The Patriots continue building depth as training camp nears. Thanks to our sponsor for helping bring you this episode. Some travel miles to find peace. I just climb into bed and listen, SOLI, solelypillow.com.
