《English Translation》
黄刚: Hua, did you see the “ice and snow vacation” in Xinjiang and Jilin? The kids are thrilled, but many parents are worried.
陈花: My colleagues are talking about it too. The kids are on break, but parents can’t easily take leave, so some children can only stay at home doing nothing.
黄刚: The policy’s original intention is actually good, like the old “wheat harvest vacation,” letting children leave the classroom and get close to nature. But the real caregiving pressure is indeed quite heavy.
陈花: If the vacation could be connected with weekends, it would be easier for parents to arrange time. And paid leave needs to be better implemented to truly be a supporting measure.
黄刚: Many colleagues at work say that there may be more holidays, but whether you can actually take them is another matter. It’s also not very realistic for grandparents to take kids out.
陈花: I think family mindset matters too. Some parents think about long trips as soon as there’s a break, and kids even compare with each other. Actually, nearby parks and small museums can be great fun as well.
黄刚: Right, education isn’t just about travel check-ins. As long as parents are willing to spend time陪伴, even a short holiday can be rich and enjoyable.
陈花: I hope policies and services will improve in the future, so children can enjoy their holidays and parents won’t feel so anxious.
