9: Papa Legba - Often depicted as an old man with a cane or crutches with a dog, the Lwa or entity known as Papa Legba is associated with the “Crossroads” and serves as an intermediary between man and the spirit world. Followers frequently invoke Papa Legba at the beginning of Voodoo ceremonies to facilitate communication with other Lwa to achieve their earthly and spiritual desires.
