The 53-year-old from North London had called on UK politicians to legalize assisted dying before she went. Today, a bill to allow terminally ill adults in England and Wales to seek help ending their lives is stalled in the House of Lords. She traveled alone to avoid legal risk for her family, documenting her trip in photos and a film. That solo journey cost her dearly, cutting short time with loved ones by a couple of months since she had to go while still able to travel. It also ran her about 15,000 pounds. Her brother Tony has flown in from Canada for the second anniversary of her death on March 20th, 2024. He's joining campaigners outside Parliament to protest what they called delays by a few peers holding up the bill. The measure passed the House of Commons last year by a majority of 55, but is now bogged down in detailed review.
