Pam Bondi Agrees to Testify in the Epstein Files Probe (4/29/26)
About this episode
The deposition centers on growing bipartisan concerns over how the DOJ managed the release of Epstein-related records under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, including missed deadlines, controversial redactions, and allegations that sensitive victim information was mishandled while powerful individuals may have been shielded. Bondi’s role in overseeing that process has drawn intense scrutiny, with lawmakers and survivors questioning whether the department fully complied with the law or obscured key details. Her testimony is expected to be a critical moment in the broader congressional probe into whether the government’s handling of the Epstein files reflects incompetence, political maneuvering, or something more deliberate.

What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles Just when Pam Bondi thought she was out they pull her back in and honestly, it's a shock I thought Pam Bondi was going to find a way to weasel out of ever appearing before Congress But now we're learning that the oversight committee and their threats of contempt worked and Pam Bondi is going to appear before the committee next month may And the date at least as of now is May 29th And I'll tell you what she better come prepared I don't want to hear anything about the Dow the Dow the Dow Nobody wants to hear it and Congress they need to come armed with the facts Don't show up and try and score political points Hammer home on the cover up and that's certainly Pam Bondi's part in all of this So that's what should be focused on
And they should come prepared Will they well that's a whole last other question they should But the fact that Pam Bondi is going to be up there and answering questions in the first place Is kind of a shock to me usually people find a way to weasel out But I'm guessing because Bill Clinton an ex-president and his wife who happened to be ex-secretary of state got deposed Then Pam Bondi is certainly somebody that shouldn't be able to avoid the subpoena Look her predecessor bill bar He wasn't able to avoid it And neither was Alex Acosta And neither should Pam Bondi And if we want to go even further Merrick Garland should be called up What role did he play in the cover up? Why didn't they push further? Why didn't they ever try and get rid of the non-prostitution agreement And look these are all questions I asked during the last administration These aren't new questions for me. I've been asking the same damn questions for years
And I've been met with the same silence So as far as I'm concerned everybody that's played a part should stand tall before the man And if they prove to lie Here's an idea Charge them with perjury you know like you're supposed to That would be nice. This procedure needs some teeth That's what it's missing Nobody fears the repercussions of bullshit around What's gonna happen? Jamie Raskin's gonna write you a harshly worded letter. I mean come on What kind of teeth does this even have it has no teeth and not only does Pam Bondi know it She's exploited it Now I wonder if they're gonna let her get away with it again This article is from CNN and the headline Pam Bondi will sit for a deposition and house oversight committees Jeffrey Epstein probe This article was authored by Annie Greyer Former attorney general Pam Bondi is set to appear next month for a deposition in the house oversight committees
Jeffrey Epstein probe Bondi's appearance now set for May 29th According to a committee spokeswoman comes as the panel has pushed in recent months to hear from the former top Trump administration official About how the Justice Department handled the Epstein case files under her leadership Is that too big of an ask And I mean that sincerely. I'm not trying to be a wise guy here You would think that if you're the attorney general or ex attorney general And you oversaw something like this that there'd probably be some questions come in your way at some point And I would think that it would be who view To do the right thing show up prepared Show the process to the respected deserves and answer the questions That are loved at you and look. I'm not saying that Pam Bondi has to be meek She can't defend herself But she has to answer the questions and she can't turn it into a side show That should be unacceptable for everybody
A bipartisan group of lawmakers initially subpoenaed the then attorney general amid outrage Over how the department's failure to release all of the files as compelled by law Well, I think it was both sides But I'm shocked that the Republicans are playing ball here And they're going to go along with the Democrats and get this across the finish line Because Pam Bondi is not coming down to Congress to give this deposition of her own free will They probably have the votes behind the scenes And I think that's pretty interesting When you think about how the Comer Committee has conducted themselves I think it's pretty interesting that they have the votes to get Bondi to come up here and give this deposition And I wonder if there's some cracks starting to form behind the scenes But But once Bondi was ousted the department argued she could no longer appear in her official capacity And would not sit for the previously scheduled deposition even though the subpoena named her directly
She tried to say or they tried to say That she's no longer attorney general. So why should she have to sit for that deposition? Of course, that's a cop-out The subpoena was for Pam Bondi who just happened to be in that position of attorney general It wasn't a subpoena for the position, right? It was for her and having some time to chew on that the DOJ recognizes or the administration recognizes That it's a losing battle that Pam Bondi is going to have to get up there and give her deposition at some point So you might as well get it over with as soon as possible A number of Republicans had waffled before Bondi's departure over whether she needed to testify under oath After she met voluntarily with the panel to answer questions That meeting on Capitol Hill also attended by then deputy attorney general Todd Blanche Who's now serving as the acting attorney general grew contentious with Democrats ultimately storming out of the room
And that's not cool either. I get it. You're frustrated Be the bigger person Stop with the theatrics Stop feeding into the craziest people in your base. I know the crazies are the loudest But they're not the majority The vast majority of people no matter what their political leanings are Are pretty decent people and they all want pretty much the same thing that you or I want the problem comes when people start sucking down propaganda And most of the people that do that never leave their house. They don't know their neighbors They're not going to the local you know bar or whatever hanging out with people They're sitting on reddit or they're sitting on x or whatever and their doom scrolling So yeah, they're gonna have a skewed view Especially because the vast majority of them are looking to feed their bias, right? They're not leaving their echo chamber. They're not trying to be uncomfortable. Not trying to grow And look that doesn't mean you have to suck down every stupid opinion
Of course not But sometimes it means being uncomfortable Challenging your world view and asking yourself if maybe you've missed something And I know that over the years I've challenged my own world view And I've had a lot of blind spots and as I've gotten older and I've learned more I filled some of those in and I'm still missing some You know you never stop learning right and you never stop growing But the only way you can do that is if you leave that echo chamber and get into the mosh pit And when I say get into the mosh pit I mean the mosh pit of ideas the date for a bondy's new appearance was revealed as Democrats on the oversight committee announced They had filed civil contempt charges against bondy for not appearing The top Democrat on the panel Robert Garcia said he had heard nothing from Bondy's personal attorney Committee Republicans nor the Trump administration ahead of the deposition announcement And my guess is like I was saying earlier That the Democrats knew that they had the votes
And Pam Bondy knew that they had the votes So instead of making this a protractive fight Might as well just acquiesce and come in Get it over with and keep it moving But there's no doubt that Pam Bondy is walking in to a very contentious hearing And they're going to be looking to trip her up And they're going to be looking to catch her in whatever kind of lie they might possibly find Whatever it might be So far as we're concerned we've now spent weeks with zero communication with somebody that was legally obligated to appear Garcia said ahead of the announcement And look he's not wrong about that She was obligated to appear it wasn't an invitation It wasn't a hey you want to come over for some wine, although I'm sure she would have loved that It was in order by Congress who's in charge of accountability and oversight And if you're the attorney general Those are your bosses, you know the American people well were the real boss allegedly
But when it comes to oversight you have to answer to Congress none of this is new This is how it works Unless of course you're dealing with the most transparent administration and the history of the world Upon learning of the new date Garcia praised the development as great news saying clearly we're being effective It's interesting how it's only when we take action and when we actually have to force Republicans to do anything To call subpoenas to get in front of our committee That they actually ever do anything he said Well look, I don't like Homer as you all know I think he's a gatekeeper And I think his whole job is to protect the administration But that doesn't mean I like Robert Garcia either He has his own motivations and they don't align with mine anyone who's making this purely political Is missing the bigger picture it's deeper than all of that But house oversight chair James Comer a Kentucky Republican swiftly pushed back saying the announcement was made As quick as we could get the day confirmed
I said we would get a date they have a history of being drama queens in the minority on that oversight committee Comer added Republicans on the panel separately criticized their colleagues civil contempt push as all theater and completely unnecessary They were happy given the Clintons a free pass for months the panel's Republicans posted on X Referring to the six months it took to secure appearances from former president Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton Always the what about is him, right? Okay, that was shitty too. That's why I called it out You know what else is shitty what's going on right now. So what are we going to do about it? Are we going to fix it? Are we going to make it better? Or are we going to point fingers and complain and here's an even better idea This is your chance to set the bar Look, we demand that Pam Bondi go before congress and answer questions Full stop if they would just do that
They would gain at least a little bit of respect But they can't even bring themselves to do that and why not because it was never their role never their goal The whole entire point has been to protect the administration And up until now it's been pretty effective The question is will it remain so All the information that goes with this episode can be found in the description box
