Ozzy Trapilo Could Return EARLY?! Caleb’s Growth & Bears Young Defenders Are BREAKING OUT

The Chicago Bears may finally be getting some encouraging injury news—and several young defenders are beginning to make serious noise at training camp.

On today’s episode of Chicago Bears Central, Haize reacts to an intriguing update surrounding offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo. After suffering a ruptured patellar tendon during Chicago’s Wild Card victory over Green Bay, Trapilo had been expected to miss most of the 2026 season. But Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer offered an encouraging update from Bears camp, saying Trapilo “might be back sooner than expected.”

That could become extremely important for a Bears left-tackle room currently dealing with uncertainty. Braxton Jones has missed multiple practices, while Jedrick Wills Jr. and Kiran Amegadjie have rotated with the first-team offense.

Then we get to Caleb Williams.

Veteran defensive tackle Grady Jarrett says Caleb’s biggest improvement has been his command of the offense, command of the huddle and growing confidence. After taking a significant step last season and leading the league with six fourth-quarter comebacks, Williams appears to be entering camp with an entirely different level of control.
