Otter's Garden Center Adventure in Scotland

0:00On April 18th, an otter pulled off a sneaky daytime entry into a garden center in Closeburn, South Scotland, at Matt Williamson and Sun. Caught on CCTV during Monday lunchtime, the animal slipped in unnoticed, hit under a shelf, and ended up locked inside overnight. By six in the morning Tuesday, it emerged for breakfast, munching on dog food and bird seed while knocking over stock around the store. Staff arrived at nine o'clock and spotted the mess, first thinking a local cat was trapped. As they restocked shelves, the otters head popped out, right when customers showed up. They had to turn folks away and explain the wild visitor. Inside, they called Knitstale Vets, who sent three team members. After 20 minutes of the otter dodging them, they netted it with a fishing net and released it into a nearby burn. Scotland boasts the big share of the UK's otters, especially along the West Coast and Islands, and they're fully protected, no harassing or harming, allowed keeping these clever critters safe in their habitats.
