For the NHL, it's March 12th. Here's what's happening. Make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an update. The Ottawa Senators have a revised penalty from the NHL for their part in a messed up trade involving Evgenii Dottanov back in 2022. Instead of forfeiting their first round pick in the 2026 draft, though now pick 32nd overall, no matter where they finish in the bingle. This all stems from a trade in July 2021 when Ottawa sent Dottanov to the Vegas Golden Knights without telling them about his no trade, Claus, that led to the NHL voiding a later deal between Vegas and the Anaheim Ducks. The team has new ownership under Michael Ann Lauer, who took over after the issue came to light. They asked the lead to lighten the original punishment, which had threatened a first rounder in 2024, or 2025, or 2026. Now, that 32nd pick in 2026 can be traded or moved. On top of that, Ottawa has to pay a fine of $1 million Canadian dollars.

League officials say this wraps up the adjustment for now, but will keep an eye on any further updates from the Senators. This episode is proudly sponsored by our partner. Tom Chase Peace, I put my head in it, S-O-L-L-I, solely pillow.com.
