Ottawa Charge Lose to Minnesota Frost, 5-0

The Ottawa charge hit a rough patch on their road trip, dropping a five-nothing decision to the Minnesota Frost on March 18th in St. Paul. It was the fourth match of this season, where Ottawa held a two-to-one series lead coming in. The charge sit fifth in the professional women's hockey league, with 28 points, just three back and fourth place, while Minnesota holds second, with 36 points. The Frost jumped all over Ottawa early, lighting the lamp four times in the first period alone. Charge goal-tender struggled, with one pulled after three goals and rookie Kendra Woodland giving up one right away in her league debut. Ottawa managed their first shot past the 10-minute mark, and could in-generate much offense until late. Penalties piled up for the charge, with four called, including two quick ones in the second period, that killed any chance at momentum, even though Minnesota didn't score on the power plays. The team knows they need to start stronger and stay out of the box to climb the standings.
