I'm so excited about seeing so many different things kind of play out tomorrow And looks like the weather seems to be cooperating From a standpoint that there seems to be like a little break in the rain and it looks like it's pretty much when the game's long and it and it definitely looks like the The temperature has mediated a little bit too. So maybe we're talking about a high of 83 which is you know hot But not oppressive by any stretch of the imagination and so yeah beautiful day for football tomorrow one more day and We get to finally see this beautiful 2026 Ohio State football team Play for us. So I can't wait Yeah, every year is different man. You get different fillings and vibes and this one just fills a little more

Maybe we're just prisoners of the moment, but it feels like man Wow, we get the CDs guys tomorrow walk out in the shoe But yes here in Columbus It's been raining on and off our day, but it's supposed to stop For most of the game if not all the game tomorrow. I've got a question for you beat going into a season if you had the choice and we don't always have the truth But if you have the choice of saying okay, Ohio State's gonna be prolific on offense but You know, you have some challenges on defense or be you know Unbelievable on defense, but have some challenges and offense. Which would you prefer? It's tough because we've had some rough years on defense Well, I was like good Lord, but I'm gonna go with offense

4:22Because if we can just score points and then get the defense to come along and just Be good enough to keep the other team from scoring more than us I'll go with that But that's tough because we've had some some defenses that was like man. This is killing us. I'm going with offense though. What you got I think that's where I'm at too. I think I think I just Notionally, it just feels like if you can outscore teams And again, and I'm not saying by any strategy that nation. I think our defense is gonna be bad this year I just I just don't know how good You know ranging on from superior to very good. We're gonna be but you know If you can outscore teams, I don't care whether you win 35 34 a wins a wins a win So you know last year I thought we had a generational defense and an offense that you know couldn't quite get there and as a result we you know We went on a little earlier than all of us would have wanted so

7:26All right Nevada So we had a flurry of nuggets today and as we should with it being game day eve We heard from the wise men we've heard we heard from from helping tech And uh, but one of the things that Really jumped out out of all the nugget post Is that the offense because you just mentioned the offense On what the secret weapon will be For tomorrow you want to get into that Well, I think the what's interesting Uh, and you know Ryan you know might have broken state security and talked a little bit about this and And when his pressman has talked about it But apparently Ohio State has spent at least two practice periods this week Practicing tempo and you know that's you know that's music do a lot of people's ears that's music to my ears um Being able to play fast when you need to I think you know puts Ohio said it's such an advantage because one

8:30If you think about it when you go fast offensively it forces the defense to be vanilla defense can't be exotic when you're going fast They're gonna play something that's relatively vanilla and you know There's just some opportunity for mismatches for ball assignments for whatever it isn't with the types of athletes and Plain-makers that we have on the offensive side of the ball I just think that you really really strain a defense by doing that they they've spent the entire offseason working on this Arthur Smith mirroring technique of you know same Formation same personnel about 12 different plays and variations off of it, but adding tempo to the mix I just think it's unbelievable now whether they roll it out tomorrow or whether they hold it for Texas or what they're To do with it. I don't they're definitely not gonna run tempo every play That's not that's not what they're talking about but when they want to do it They want to be able to unveil it because you got to practice it. It's not it's just it's one thing be to go Hey, we're gonna go fast. It's like you know, it's you want to think for your basketball team to go. Hey, you know

9:34We're gonna run the fast break, you know, and if anybody's watched like the showtime lakers. What was the uh Winning time that HBO thing that that that promise her like Like if not just like just saying it you got to practice it and On offense when you're trying to go fast and you're trying to communicate to 11 guys what the play is What the cadence is and getting them all in the same day to get them on quickly and get the play called You got to practice it Because you know if one guy's moving and one if one guy's late out of the thing you can pick that hard to play One guy's early out of the thing that can be a procedure penalty You've got to practice it but apparently all house they just really Investing the the practice time in it and I think I really think this was one of those things where you know Ryan Days first inclination is to go slow and I think Arthur Smith Really kind of won this this discussion battle whatever you want to call it Between him and and right there where he's like look we need to be able to go fat

10:37It's worth that you've only got 20 hours a week of practice time to work on the stuff But it's worth investing this in tempo because when we need it we need to be able to pull it out when you need to be able to run it and I I cannot wait to see all house they go fast this year because I think they if they do it right I think it can be devastatingly effective Yeah, especially what guys like number two Run around on the field that you see on the screen here in legend bay Yeah, Nevada you said I mean to me I would practice it it this goes back to the debate of You know, do you put stuff on film for the previous or I'm sorry for the next opponent Like Texas or do you hold off and spring it on them? I say get out there and practice the tempo man do it put tempo out there Score make Texas prepare. I mean, it's not like they haven't seen tempo before You might as well practice it and and perfect it on your end so you can execute it in Austin

11:42That's just how I feel about it and as long as the weather holds up I think that's what we're going to see I think we're going to see them break it out and go fast on some series not the entire time I think they're going to try a few different things um, I mean Listen ball state. I don't think this game is going to be close at all or competitive It's all on us can we come out clean executing you know, get the jitters out of the way and just knock them out and get the guys in Get the uh, you know the third second third string guys in that's it and stay healthy Come out and play clean, baby, and if we do that, I think um, you know, we can I now here's the thing do we come out in the first drive with tempo or do we come out execute? And then maybe the second drive to me let me ask you this no matter I noticed the opener it's ball state we respect the opponents But to me, I feel like Ryan Day and his staff is treating this like a scrimmage I mean their treatness like let's run some stuff. Let's try some stuff

12:44But play clean and get ready for Texas. I mean To me, I just think that's what it is. What you think Yeah, I don't think there's any question about it and the interesting thing about the way that I'll have state training Tempo is they're not winning tempo by series They're running that after they get pick up first down So what they're saying is if they pick up that first first down They're gonna go fast, you know, I'm saying and it's like you know, so if you don't get it You know, you go three and out or you know, haven't forbidden whatever happens It doesn't go according to that then obviously, you know, that you're not going with that But once you pick up that first first down you're running to the line Line it up and going and boy, I mean can you imagine because you know, you talked about practicing Um tempo at offense if you're not practicing defending tempo on defense Then because it's different man. It is it is but the different when you don't have time to set up Have the green dot put his hands over his ears here the thing call communicate get guys just running line

13:47I mean It's pay us out there and you better be ready for it And I think that's why it's important for a house state to do it and put it on film against um Against ball state because it makes Texas spend time preparing for it And even if you don't want to run it it makes them spend some of their time preparing for it And so I think you know, I think there's multiple benefits of doing it I love the way Ohio State does it when they do it. I even last year you only did it you know, spiringly But when we did can you ever I mean, I know it didn't happen often I don't remember us ever getting stopped when we were going fast last year like like I don't think we got stopped And the only thing to stop this was we stopped doing it. Yeah, which I never really understood Yeah, I don't recall that either One of my favorite game plan games was at Wisconsin uh shot at the dev uh who will be back from vacation tomorrow Um, we were at that game and to me that was the pace

14:47I thought we were going to move with in the playoffs Nevada Is at Wisconsin if you don't remember that game we moved the ball up down the field pretty quickly 12 straight passes or whatever that you want. Yep. Yep exactly We were just airing it out zippin' it around throwing it to the running backs out the back field I mean we were Cooking cooking cooking and so yeah, I do not recall a drive stalling when we went tempo Now obviously Ryan Day last year you know, he saw the efficiency and the the snaps that were being taken off And you know, he was looking long-term. I get it is it's logical theoretically But I still think they can be efficient And you know and do that but still You know do more attacking and more tempo and they will that's been all the intel we've been getting right So I think tomorrow they absolutely should do that and get Texas Have haven't to prepare for that because to me Nevada go ahead and prepare with our weapons listen Texas got weapons

15:48But put our weapons up against anybody's weapons in the country. I'm taking our weapons every time Nevada Yeah, no there's no there's no question about it and certainly with our trigger man Julian saying is better than theirs and yeah, and I think that you know That's that's a big advantage and J.J.'s clothing better than anybody and our offense lines better than theirs So no, I like I like the way that this team shaping up Um, it's it's gonna be fun to see us. Yeah, I just hope the game doesn't get out of hand So we don't get enough to see you know because I want to see the the ones I want to see what the ones can do How they're operating you know, it's it's a little bit of a bummer when the game gets way ahead and you've got the second or team in And the play calls just Dave every single time because you don't remember see other team you know I'm saying which which I get But it's just kind of like really that's that's what we're gonna go to now you know I'm saying like every single play is gonna be run up the middle and you know

16:48I don't let Luke say he let Tavine do something run the offense. Let's do it and and You if that hurts ball state feelings well, you know What can I say it's football man? I got a feeling Nevada if did again if weather permits and it's not this dumb Rainy I think they're gonna let them I think Ryan Day is gonna let the second and third team Uh play a little bit because think of this Fahey and um Tavine are in a battle all right What better way for more data points than to let them air it out a little bit And put it on tape and grade it with live bullets flying um You know, so I think we're going to see a little more than Dave tomorrow Uh with this offense and that's just my opinion That's just what I think uh Because I think Ryan Day wants to wants to get them some work man because think about it We don't have too many more opportunities. We got Ken state and that's pretty much it

17:52Right, I mean we might have a few more blowouts later in the season You know who do we got Rutgers? We got Rutgers on the schedule. I don't know if we do or not But that's a 77 and nothing game Right there, but right so You know not many opportunities in about us. So I think they're gonna let them play a little bit tomorrow Yeah, well, um it'll be interesting because you know I I my one of my props is is bow jacks and over a hundred yard rushing And the only thing I'm concerned about is just how many carries is it gonna get? Yeah, like how quickly will they how quickly will they go to Isaiah West? You know how quickly will they go to Jacobi how quickly with a good legend, but you know I'm saying I think they want to get them a hundred though. I you just have a feel I just have to They want to get hungry. I agree with that But no that's that's a great point in about it because How many opportunities man because you know you have Ryan Day wants to get Isaiah Weston because he deserves carries he wants to get uh Jacobi Jackson in you know he's been tough

18:53He wants to get Favourocky. I mean they want to empty the clip tomorrow But man that does that mean bow jacks only get six carries for 72 yards Right, I mean that would that would be disappointing right you know I'm saying but I can see that happening I know I know there's a lot of out of the fee so there's a lot of there's a lot of out of the fee for sure I'm not that I'm thinking about like oh that's tough Unless he just cracks a big one, but I do think he's going to crack a big one though But will it be enough? So Interesting interesting thought um, but also interesting thought as we kind of jump to this here Have y'all seen the field? This is the preparation for the field man. I absolutely love What they're doing with this field I kind of forgotten about it that they have the ability to Change the field per the matchup kind of like the basketball court a house they buck high basketball

19:53You know how they flip the floor Except this is grass they can spray it remove it whatever And so this is just absolutely beautiful in Nevada I know we've talked about this before But I adore the uh the gray stripes and everything they're doing bringing this back man and this new turf Is just to meet all of that is just a part of the The beauty and the butterflies in the stomach as we Um, anticipate tomorrow's matchup Nevada One of the stripes and the ends on a gorgeous on it. I I you know I know that there's maybe some people that don't like it, but I can't imagine I don't I don't really understand that I mean I look I mean I know everybody's in touch with their opinion But I like this one. I'm like really you don't you know how can how can you not like those they look so good Yeah But to me what I appreciate more than anything Bees that they're just trying you know what I'm saying they're trying They're trying to make the experience better. They're trying to make the plane service better They're trying stuff now not everything they do is gonna work and people can criticize or whatever it is

20:56But for 20 years We kind of sat there and didn't really try you know, I'm saying just the same old thing And now at least we've got guys that are trying stuff. They're doing it I know the the turf change over I know the players really appreciate the the players love the turf So the fact that it can be changed out that they can change the color they can change the name I mean I Look visually. I think it's stunning Um It'd be interesting to hear in the chat. How do people are are there really people that don't like the stripes of me and so They kind of really want it. But first of all You know 80s you had the super not not just 80s but 90s as well You had the super big numbers and then you know like the big old pads and I mean this is a cleaner more modern version of that And I'm like how can you not like these uniforms bro like I just don't I don't get it. So that's one person that I know Everybody else is just in love with it now. I'm assuming you see Is anybody on the scoop board that don't like this Nevada? I think I've seen a couple of posts From people but I didn't really because I just I wasn't sure if it was just like instinctively They just don't like anything different or whatever it is. Yeah, but I mean I looked at it the more I look I mean, I think it's dope dude. I think I think it's like Like I think it's a 10 out of 10 Perfect. Yes. Yes, I agree and then wait until I don't know what game is gonna be made I think is it either north western or Illinois Will we have the blackout game?

Like it's just I don't know I appreciate it I've been kind of silently complaining about the field conditions Well, I've said stuff out loud, but not as much as I say in my head The field conditions you're you're a church guy you're like you know you you have a riding lawn mower Your eyes dedicated to the field and stuff like that. So yes, you know I understand I understand you have a strong opinion about this and so your opinion matters is very very valid on this Yeah, I mean that you know the over the years of the slipping and and on the other crab and then of course the other thing I really irritated me Nevada is how quickly the field that we had last time started to fade The dag on scarlet in the in zone just fade it seemed like after two games But this is supposed to be higher quality where it doesn't fade and I'm saying that because I've seen other teams across the country Nevada

24:01That had they their fields for for for years never faded and so we deserve the highest quality everything Well, you're two you're too young to remember the field during like the seven when you go back and watch the game through the 70s The National turf yeah I was like all faded out and it was rock hard I saw pictures. I mean I saw video and because they had like the big didn't have the big 10 in the middle Yeah, yeah Yeah, and they had the uh what that might have been before the poop of the red Puma Was it red was it Puma shoes that they wore remember the all red shoes they wore I can't remember the brand of course you do but yes, I remember seeing that rock hard astro turf Back in the day, so we've come a long way from that But yeah, this is just this beautiful the uniforms the field everything around this the the the energy Uh for this team Being doubted still which is amazing to me. This is a mixed bag. There's some people who are you know Brian Kelly randomly

25:04Oh, he picked this but boy. There's a lot of people not picking us. I mean which is cool That kind of balances out the number one doesn't it Nevada? You know, it's one thing if you're number one preseason it then like the bambas of of the recent history Not only are you number one, but 90% of the panels are picking you So I think it's a little balanced out now with you know as far as people kind of rat poisoning us Well, but in fairness to them When I've ever heard anybody talk about it they immediately pivot to the schedule They immediately pivot to the fact that I mean it's it's becoming kind of a national narrative now That Ohio State's just got an impossibly difficult schedule Which is good. That's good. I think that gives us a little more wiggle room on this stuff You know if the unthinkable happens Um because I think people are recognizing that this schedule You know you look at the the two favorites to win the national championship and it's Ohio State and Notre Dame Yeah, to very disparate teams to very very very different paths to the comfortable boy. Yeah, I'm scared

26:11I mean Notre Dame plays no one and we play and we play everybody So um, you know, it's um, it's funny how that can you know some teams have got the Golden Ticket already You know that literally punched all the way to the coach will applaud We're we're gonna have to we're gonna have to fight for it, but it's uh, it's gonna be a very interesting season for sure That's so true man. They you you tell them all punched like literally Notre Dame is in the playoffs today right now like It that that's that's just crazy to me and and uh, Geo did what's up, bro Feel like I can see you in a minute, but look at his herb street. Just picked Notre Dame to win a nattie shocker shaking my head Yeah, and I like it to me. Yes, pick everybody else. I've seen uh, you know, Josh pay he picked Miami Um, you know, others are picking to I see some Texas picks. I saw a few organs Um, like I said Brian Kelly came out said Ohio State, but I've seen

27:11Uh, a lot more uh, you know other picks than Ohio State, which I'm cool with that's cool Doubt us because one last thing I'll say about this Nevada is that The great thing about all these pundits going on record about how they can't pick us because of our schedule When we actually overcome our schedule then there can't be any excuses there can't be any lame SCCO what they didn't play anybody in the big team look at Rutgers as if Rutgers represents the big team You can't say nothing we've went through the gauntlet just like in the playoffs of 2024 remember Nevada Like we had team up north fans Already celebrating pre-celebrating when they saw the bracket. Do you remember that Nevada how the people reacted to our path and was like They're done and Ryan Day is fired. They're done Well, how about now so yeah, and it was anything better. I mean it was almost made it better Losing to those guys and then having the missing people at the height of like at that point

28:14That's like the pinnacle of all their happiness like we we went in with this bad team and we beat Ohio State And Ohio State's done and look at their path in the champion They're just they're done. It's all over. It's all over and then we go run the table Oh, yeah, and they tried to act like they wasn't salty. They was so You know y'all receive that that little meme where it has like the do with the mask woman behind the mask He's crying and angry. It's like you know, it's like a smiling mask. That was a team up north fans On on social media that they were trying to cope um, you know and all the other stuff but absolutely man, so Yeah, definitely uh the the roller coaster ride of emotions and everything else starts tomorrow y'all We you know listen this is this is what we're here for book high fans Buckle up man. 29:20I acknowledge because this is one thing that you know I was debating if I was going to go to this game or not Nevada And the one of the reasons that I was thinking like man I should go to this game again We've mentioned this before but I really wanted to give this man his due is Jim Tressel be an honor tomorrow In the ring of honor Jim Tressel man again, let me quickly say this. Let me give a little brief speech Okay Buck high fans for those who are who have been fans before 2014 and if you aren't that's fine We we got some late late comers and younger generations But my point is this look at this you see this right here him the mic I'll never forget this stuff. What's up Jonathan Wells? We got to have Jonathan Wells back on the show my guy But Nevada All of Buck high fans Were in just utter despair. I know I'm I'm maybe I'll speak for myself myself But I can speak for Buck high nation. I think coming out of the 90s

30:23Going into the team up north game really kind of knowing that we were going to lose Like I went into that game in the 90s like Well here we go again Because we just couldn't win that game Incoms Jim Tressel from Youngstown state Who some mocked the hire of I was I didn't know who he was I was just hoping that hey this guy can Okay, let's see what he can do And he comes in he makes that famous half-time speech You know and 300 whatever days and then Auburn are you never gonna make you proud And he turned this rivalry around The 90s were miserable for me when it came to that game And I love the 90s everything else literally Nevada about the 90s. I adore from my music To movies and TV But the one downside was losing to that team up north and this man right here came in and completely changed the culture

31:25and brought joy Back to come lamb is so high. Oh with not only beating the team up north Nine nine and one but also winning bowl games and Bringing us a national championship and in a dramatic Heart-stopping fashion that my colleague here in Nevada was there in person to see um He was unfairly railrode it by one of the goofiest most silliest things with tack gate And treat it like he was Hitler because he didn't sign a paper saying his kids You know Exchange their trinkets for tattoos You would have thought he was Jeffrey Dahmer And he you know kind of fell on the sword and did some things he has always showed love for you for the university He still refers to a house that is we I got love for this dude man. I got a lot of respect for Tressel I want to meet this cat. I will one day just to shake his hand to say thank you for what you've done for Buckeye Nation

32:30I know everybody may not agree with that you know Because they some people still hold on to you know what he didn't do or what he should have done But man Tressel like you said in Nevada history will be kind to Jim Tressel You said that years ago And so here we are Nevada. There's my speech. 34:36Vulcan to me or something like I'm not sure they were saying because I'm like you want them to be good What what are you talking about I don't ever want them to be good I want them to be oh and a love and coming in and then I wanted to be oh and 12 after we play him like what do you talk? You want them to be good that that just doesn't make any sense to me Yeah, me and my guy uh Mike Patterson we were just talking about this the other day actually the whole crew we were talking about this in the chat and It's just like what were y'all thinking? You know, it's just like no keep your foot on their neck forever the 90s Listen, we need to beat them 100 to nothing just for what happened in the 90s alone and so I'm telling you man goofy's going goofy. I've never understand the logic of some fans man It's like they want they either want to be miserable or they just want to be a contrarian just just because You know I want to go against the grain okay idiot.
