Again, we're gonna be talking about the Spring Football practice, the first one and who's turning heads and all the happenings, man.

3:01We're gonna dig into it. I'm also remember when you send those wonderful super chats helps to go towards the pay it forward, which is our military and our first responders. We're gonna look out for them because they always look out for us Nevada Buck. What's up, happy Spring Football day, brother? Yeah, wow, what a day. You know, usually these these Spring Football things are common the first day, there's not much, but you know, this one seemed like there's a lot of stuff going on and they were jumping right in there, wasn't just like going out there and stretching and handing out, you know, forms and walking around and picking your name for the team. We're gonna be the Flaming Hot Cheetos this year or something like that, like they were into it and doing some stuff. And yeah, with exciting day, I was excited for Spring Football last night, but now that it's here, I'm even more excited. So lots of great stuff going on. Absolutely. I say, let's jump into these new numbers. New numbers, I know it's trivial,

4:04but it's fun to me, Nevada. And like you said earlier, ballers get single digits and we're gonna talk about that. So let's go over some notable number changes or updates. Nevada, what do you think about Legend Bay getting the number two out the gate? What's your thoughts on that? Well, I mean, I think the hype's real. I think, you know, you can say what you want about the single digit numbers, but the single digits are the most coveted numbers. Obviously, the most coveted number of all is one, but two is the next most coveted and to have a guy come in, and he's not even like he's a trans-reportal kid. So it's not like it was like promised him through them. This is a kid that was in high school last year come here at the given number two right out of the gate. And I mean, you can't help but think with like courtesy amulal or some of the other, you know, single digit number of guys or kind of gadgety guys that, you know, played wide receiver,

5:05played running back, were used in a number of different spots. And I think that's exactly what they're gonna do with Legend Bay. And I can tell you that everybody's excited about Legend Bay. Everybody's excited. And, you know, I think the work that he put in during the winter is noticeable because, you know, he's noticeably thicker, he's noticeably stronger and there's really, they've got high expectations for him and that's why you come to a house there's for high expectations but that's also why they're giving number two. So definitely there's something there for sure. Yeah, Ryan Day was talking about the criteria for getting numbers that you want. He mentioned, you know, like champions and how did you do with making the workouts, leadership, you know, being on time, you know, all the little stuff. And so, yeah, I mean, he was already turning heads today, you know, looking fast and explosive and all that, man.

6:06So very excited. Now on the flip side, I was a little surprised, not in a bad way, but I kind of like the 97 on Kenyatta. Man, that's Bosa, like a Bosa number. It's a great defensive in number. What's your thoughts on him flipping the number two? Now, I like it, but I was still like, eh, I don't know what you think. Well, I mean, you know, it's, it's one of those things where I, I mean, I like the traditional numbers but then sometimes you want to stand out, you want to be, you know, let me look, James Smith has got a single digit number. You don't see that much from defense, from defense of tackles, you know what I'm saying? There's last time you saw a defensive tackle at Ohio State, a true defensive tackle in a single digit number. I mean, I can't remember to ever. I'm not saying that I'm, I'm saying it hasn't happened, but I can't remember it. Yeah. Now you got me thinking and every, and every guy I think of is a single digit and I know they're not a detackle.

Because he was all over the line. He was a god of amongst her. But he might have been a second of the bed. Let's put this way. It doesn't happen often. 99. Okay, he was 99. I guess I got the opposite. I got the opposite of the single digit. But the only number would have been Ireland would have been if it was 100. You're like, right? You're number 100. Oh, I mean, James Smith, number four, like holy guacamole. That's pretty crazy. Actually, he's number, I think he's three. He's three. Three is a three. A quaver law is four. Quaver law is four. Yeah, but he's like, yeah. I mean, that's wild, man. That's just wild. No, I agree. I agree. So that's different. So the Bama boys trying to come in and you know, switch things up a little bit. Petty John, number five.

10:10I was like, okay. Okay, Petty John, that's pretty cool. Let me see what else other notable. No, Riley Petty John, who's out for the spring with a minor injury being worked on a little surgical procedure. Nothing that's going to hold him out, but out for the spring, we'd kind of alluded to it last night about some availability of reps at the lineback reposition. So that's what we were talking about. But yeah, like Christian Allegro on those guys are going to probably get some younger. Petty John now is for number five, but we won't see it until the fall. Right. So hill up, get better. Get back as soon as you can. You know, Petty John family is a friend of the show. Dev has interviewed them a good million times. Great people. I think he's a young stud and a waiting. So get healthy, get those mental reps. And also number three, McEwen, I've heard several, several people talk about how fast and good McEwen look today, including Ryan Day, Nevada.

11:12McEwen, for those who don't know, he's the kid and shoot. It's such a small school. I always forget the name of it. But he was a standout. Go ahead, you know the school? You T San Antonio. You T San Antonio. He was a standout for them. And I know some people poo-pooed it because it's a small school. But I'm telling you, there's been good kids who have come from small schools. And now in this portal world, these late blooming kids have an opportunity to step up on the big stage. And this kid is good. And Ryan Day called him a pro, called him and Kyle Parker from LSU Pros, is what he called them. That's a great sign. We knew they were experienced. But now they're at Ohio State. LSU's no joke. LSU is LSU. But it's still good to see them come in the first day off the gate in Nevada with some praise from the head man. Yeah, I mean, I think those guys can play. And Ohio State thinks those guys can play.

12:14And they certainly looked apart. And I would be surprised. I mean, I think Ohio State's doing really good about their portal evaluations. Obviously you never really know until you get deeper into spring ball. And obviously into the fall. But early returns are very happy. And that's not always the way it is. Sometimes they're like, uh oh, we made, I made a boo-boo. You know, on this one, they said, I can tell you on Victor Cutler, they were feeling questionable, like right off the from jump street, they were like, oh man, I'm not sure what we just did here. And even kind of was going through it kind of a similar thing as well. But I can tell you that I haven't heard any of that this spring over the winter into this spring. They're feeling really good about all the guys that they got. And specifically those two wider savers. They're looking for those guys to make an intermediate impact. And boy, that would be a nice surprise for those who wider saver room. Absolutely. So real quick before we get into any more players,

13:17I want to talk about, now we knew Nevada, you told everybody a few weeks ago about map attrition and how much he was getting paid. But now it's all out in the public. So map attrition, $3.75 million in 2026. And then he bumps up to $3.85 and $27.28. Three-year deal, he is now the highest paid coordinator slash assistant in the country. Nevada, what's your thoughts on Matty P getting paid and being the highest paid man out there? I'd heard $3.10 million. So this is even a little marginally higher than that. But hey, you got to pay the man. I mean, the job that he did last year was nothing short of miraculous in terms of the way that he coordinated the defense, lost eight starters and then took the defense to even greater heights. Also, Matty P, not that this is a big deal,

14:18but Matt P is going to be one of the 10 cannibal coaches. So he's going to be on the road recruiting. Arthur Smith is not. We've talked about that before, Arthur Smith, which is kind of the new meta, I think, to get these guys to come in and take these jobs. He'll have to slump it for a million and a half. And he doesn't have any recruiting responsibilities. And so Patricia's got a little bit more of a expanded job. But look, Ryan Day is going to war with two X NFL head coaches as his coordinators. And he feels really good about the guys that he has and the way that they just conduct themselves, the way they're maturity, their experience. And the fact that Ryan can now go back to full time to being a CEO and let these guys run the room. What a great blessing for him. But yeah, Matt P, 3.75 million, well worth it. And I'm sure that the bucket's probably even going higher, but you're well worth every penny.

15:19Absolutely. I love it. It's great. Two head coaches as your coordinators. I don't see how people can keep playing that down. I know we got to see what happens on the field. But boy, I'm excited about that, man. So Kudos to a house, they for working it out. He absolutely had options like Ryan Day was saying earlier, but they made this happen. They made it happen. And I'm very happy about it. So transitioning back, I see y'all in the chat talking about Chris Henry Jr. And it was dope to see Chris Henry Jr. get his dad's number 15, right? That was good to see. And he also caught a nice, excuse me, 70 yard bomb today according to Ryan Day and practiced. And then I saw something in the chat. I think it was Matt Randalls talking about can you imagine covering Chris Henry Jr. and JJ Smith? Good luck. Oh, wait, so I yo, so yeah, I mean, we've been saying that all season.

16:21We agree. And he looked physically the part. I know he's a, he's always been a wiry tall, wiry type of kid. But his height kind of helps balance that out. And he's gotten bigger. He's gotten bigger. So he's going to be a problem early, early, even if it's just, I mean, 50, 50 ball wise, he's excellent. Even put like this and about it. I said like this, even if he wasn't 65, he still has great 50, 50 ball skills. So if he was 62 and a half, I still think he would be really good. Like a Devon Smith, Devon Smith was not 65, but he was excellent at 50, 50 balls. So he's excellent with his height. So I see y'all talking about Chris Henry Jr. Super excited about him. Ryan Day seemed to really love what the receivers look like today. So Nevada, we should thought so on Chris Henry Jr.

17:23I mean, we're going for a treat. We're going for a treat to, you know, Chris Henry Jr. with Gillian's ball into him. And, and JJ Smith on the other side. And Arthur Smith, you know, Cool fence. I mean, you're in for, we're in for a show. And, you know, everybody that's been around Chris Henry, I've seen Chris Henry play many times. He just doesn't look like anything that I've ever seen before at White Receiver, you know, because he's so big, but he moves so well. And he's a glider. He glides around out there. So, you know, I know he's not a 4-3 guy, but I mean, he runs well. He doesn't get caught much from behind. And to be that big and to have that type of a catcher, it is, and you'd be able to go up and get the ball. I mean, like I said, it's going to be something, we're going to see something very, very special this year. So, you know, buckle up, get your chips and your drink and be ready to watch it. Because I'm not sure we've ever seen anything

18:24quite like it before. And I'm not sure we'll ever see anything quite like it again, because I'm not sure when we'll have another Gillian saying, JJ Smith to kind of pair along with him. But it's, I'm going to be here for every minute of watching Chris Henry Jr. play that for sure. Definitely, and look at him. Here's a picture of him towering over everyone, not looking small. I mean, he's still finished, but he doesn't look small. And so, yeah, he's going to be a terror out there lining up against DBs. You know, I don't know, is the second corner going to try to line up with him? You know, is he going to draw matchups from the third? You know, corner and stuff like that. If you got JJ out there, Brandon and this in the slot, it's like, that's going to be very difficult to go up against your weakest corner with this dude as a true freshman. So I'm excited about Chris Henry Jr.

19:25I definitely agree. But yes, Ryan Day seemed to be very happy with his first impressions, with this Y receiver on. Now, one thing I want to kind of pivot back to, and I know we're just going to be all over the place, but it was a lot going on today. So I want to pivot back to Legend Bay, but more specifically, the running back room, Nevada, because I know some people are kind of, I don't want to say freaking out, but they're concerned about his comments. Ryan Day mentioned that he was concerned with the running back room. We all know that Isaiah West and Bo Jackson are out for the spring. Those are the two leaders in the clubhouse with reps and experience and all of that. And so now you have turbo Rogers who did not play last year as your most experienced guy. 22:28and dad going to Legend Bay, who is coming off a plan quarterback for his high school. And I was watching drills with a man, I'll tell you man, Coach Locke is crazy. Coach Locke is a mad man out there. I've seen him coaching person and obviously we've seen clips, but he got after Legend Bay a few times. And favor because they didn't have the ball up high and tight. And so anyway, the point is Nevada. I know how I feel about this, but I want to hear your thoughts. Do you, how much do you read into Ryan Day's comments about his concern with the running back room? Or did you just like, eh, how do you feel about it? I mean, I think that it would probably be the same for most rain back rooms, where you're missing the one and two backs, your 1,000-yard rusher from last year.

23:30I mean, how many teams wouldn't have concerns about that? You know, then you're down to running backs, three, four, and five through the spring. I'm not concerned about it. You know, for me, I look at it. I always think in this particular situation with these particular resources that we have, we should be a past first team. We should pass the set up the run. And if concerns in the running back room or lack of depth during the spring or whatever causes us to lean more into our passing game, you know what? I'm all about that because I've always felt that the idea that we're not playing football in the 70s anymore. This is 2025. You can win past first. And, you know, I hope that they activate the quarterback run in a limited fashion, you know, because everybody else in the world does it. We're literally the only team in the world that doesn't run it. And our fan base is the most scared fan base.

24:32And then we'll, you know, what if somebody gets hurt? It's football. You know, somebody can get hurt. You know, this is, but you gotta activate the quarterback running into it, lean into your passing game, lean into your short pass game, lean into your screen game, lean into, you know, throw it to your flankers, use Legend Bay in the interesting ways. So I'm not really, you know, concerned about it. I think it's just the, it's a, you know, you have to, you're not gonna get out there and say everything is great right now, especially when your two returning running backs posture are both sitting, you know, on the sideline. So I think it's much to do about nothing. Yeah, I agree. Exactly. It's like, okay, it's like, what do you expect? To me, I think from Coach Day's standpoint, I don't think he's hitting the panic button. I think he's trying to motivate them through the media and get after them. Because you can imagine Ryan Day is on their butts, like, and on Coach, like, hey, these boys gotta step up.

25:34We need them to grow up fast because we got our two veterans out and we need them to step up. And so I think it's a motivating factor. You got two freshmen and a red shirt freshman who did not play leading that room right now. And it's the first day of practice. So again, you got kids coming in who have not had an actual house to a college football practice yet. So they're gonna be sloppy. They're trying to learn, okay, where'd our goal? What's the pace of practice? How does, you know, lack want me to do this? It's an adjustment. And so, you know, most kids are following the leader in line. You know, the DBs, the young DBs were looking at Caleb Bounds last year. They were looking at, you know, Matthews. They don't got that right now. So they gotta jump in and do it quick. And so I agree, Nevada. I don't think it's a big deal. I think this running back room is gonna be just fine.

26:34I think the talent is there. They just need to get acclimated to what they're being asked to do, especially with no veteran leadership in front of them in that room. So I agree. Well, how many returning yards do we have? Do you know what I'm saying? Zero? I mean, yeah, I mean, they're just right. Ryan couldn't answer the question any other way. It was like, oh, I feel great, you know, I mean, I feel peachy. I mean, it's a very unusual situation where you, I mean, I, I, I, I, our leading Russia from Osher has got to be Julian Sain. And yeah, you know, you know, I mean, like, so we just don't have any yards coming back on that. Now he did go out of his way though to talk about how deep and good the offense line was. And I'm like, wow, I wonder, wonder where I heard that. Right. Well, what a shock. Well, everybody panning. Everybody panicking. Yeah, that's like, I mean, you know, he and more is a super talented kid.

27:35That kid could play guard. That kid could play tackle. He could play all over the line. We just got so many kids, you know, Josh, but he is out with a little, with a little procedure, but you've got so much depth on the offensive line. It's almost crazy how much depth they have in the offensive line. So of all the positions that people were, but don't worry about the offensive line. I mean, let's worry about other things, but we're not about the offensive line, man. I'm telling you, now the defensive line, I think it's legitimate to talk about, hey, we got some, some holes, I think we can fill them, but the offensive line, we've got dudes and proven dudes and proven dudes with starts under their belt on top of that. So I have zero concerns about the offensive line. Yeah, regarding the offensive line, Coach Day did say, Padea would be limited in the spring. So Josh Padea, who played well against Miami, he will be limited. So that's something, you know, to know, it's nothing major, but there's that.

28:36And then also one other thing on Legend Bay, Coach Day nailed exactly what we've been saying as far as a comp. We've been saying Curtis Samuel and Xavier Johnson, like literally, especially Curtis Samuel. So we were very spot on with that, and you can see it in his game. Like that's exactly how we need to use him. Running back, you know, we can motion him out to the slot to get favorable matchups against linebackers, or you know, if they're in the nickel, the nickel DB slot corner who can't guard him, you know, I'm hoping Nevada, at some point, it's a little early, but I'm hoping that we install some plays where he can pass. He'll get it in the round and throw the ball because no, he's not a college, D1 college quarterback at this level,

29:37but he's good enough to throw the ball and be a threat. Like he's not a bum throwing the ball now. So I want to see all types of gadgetry with Legend Bay eventually, but for now, I'm excited to see him back there and I want to see him get some reps at punt return. Well, yeah, I mean, he's a guy that you just want to see the ball in his hands and there's many different ways as possible. And I hope we're not putting too much on the kid, but I tell you how state's excited about him. He's going to get a lot of activity this spring with everybody down, you know, now they're running back from Florida. They're running back. Yes. Yeah, yeah. I mean, that guy, he's interesting. Interesting player and I think he's a guy that, while we're talking about returning yards at Ohio State, he's a guy that's rushed for yards in college at Florida. And he's going to be, he's worth keeping an eye on as well,

30:38because I've talked to a couple of people and they both mentioned him to me, not like over the moon, but like, hey, this guy looks like he's a football player. So I'm really interested to see what he can do as well, but he's going to get a lot of opportunity to do it because this spring, you know, we're thin at running back, but that just means, you know, opportunity knocks for somebody to come through and take the opportunity. So he's a spot making impression on Arthur Smith. Because Arthur Smith hadn't seen any of these guys. He hadn't seen Bo Jackson. He hadn't seen Isaiah West. So you make that person person in him that maybe an abiding one for sure. Very true. Clean slate. And I'm glad you brought him up because it came to me after we went on our little zero yards. I was like, oh, yeah, Jacobi Jackson. Now, technically, he has zero yards as a buck guy, but he does bring yards from Florida. And shout out to dad. By the way, dad will be going live after us tonight. Make sure you check out dad after the show. But dad kind of got me to get my eyes on Jackson a little more.

31:38And I see the chat. Yes, he is known as a really good blocker. He might end up being the best blocker on the team. We'll see, but I've also heard today that he looked really good physically. Like he looked like a rock out there. So yeah, don't want to sleep on Jackson. He has some experience, but he just doesn't have Ohio State practice experience. So that matters. So I'm glad you brought that up. And I wanted to bring up Julian Saiyan. So I'm going to put this on the screen. So I tweeted this out. This is a quote from Coach Day. He talked about him making an impact with his legs when appropriate. He said, we know that's the X factor that has to show up this year. He's aware of that. And we've been working hard in the all season. So Nevada, we've been saying we've been talking about this all off season about how him not running as much in certain spots needs to change.

32:42It was said after the Miami game by Julian. It was said by Ryan Day. We talked about how Ryan Day needs to make sure he's not sending mixed messages to his quarterbacks and his offense. Because in the past, he's been a little restrictive with his quarterbacks running the ball. Okay. So now it seems to me, Nevada, that over the years as a head coach and seeing the game and all that and still learning. In my opinion, and I know some people are still skeptical hippo, but I've been saying leading up to even now that I felt like things were going to change. I feel like over time, the worm is going to start turning towards him, putting more actual real emphasis on him running. And today's comment unprompted because they didn't ask about him running in this. They would just talk about Julian saying and he led into this comment, y'all talking about his throwing and commanded offense. And he ended his comment with this, Nevada, did you see this quote?

33:43And what's your thoughts on it? Well, look, I think this is about the the journey that Ryan Day is on and his kind of evolution as a head coach, because I've talked to players that played quarterback at Ohio State for under Ryan Day. And they've told me that, you know, whether it's implicit, it's certainly, um, it's certainly implied that he just hasn't been that isn't looking for them to run the ball. You know what I'm saying? 36:46And so it's, you know, I think when you hear it from multiple people and you see it with your own eyes over because this isn't just a Julian saying joint. This is this is a CJ Stroud. This is calm. A court. I mean, you know, you can go through the court back to you even, even Justin Fields to a certain degree, you know, it rolls into how to rush it runs in in the NFL. So I think that Ryan has got to quit giving mixed messages about running the football support back. And I think, you know, this, this seems to be, you know, his way of saying publicly, hey, okay, I've, I've kind of changed my word, but this is definitely a change because, you know, whether he's singing it explicitly, you know, I'm saying, I don't want you to run or he's just kind of going, you know, you're not really brought here to be a running back, you know, hey, we look for other guys to go get those yards and do that. Hey, you know, Sam, you know, hey, your health is paramount and we can't afford to have you get her, you know, there's so many different things that he's done that cause

37:46guys to go, they think twice before they run the football. And I think Ryan's got to change that and hopefully, hopefully this is the start of him doing it in 2026. Agreed. And I keep telling people, listen, I'm a press conference boy. I watch all the pressers. I've watched Ryan Day since he's been here faithfully. I've studied him. I've, you know, just taking notes and I'm telling y'all, now y'all can still say you're skeptical and this is not it, but well, he's just talking. I'm telling you, like Nevada just said, this is different. This is different. And so the question is, will he follow through with this difference of engaging the press about this particular thing, with the quarterback running again, the quote, he said, we know that's the X factor. He said, um, with his legs, when appropriate, which is important because nobody's asking him

38:46to run cue draws every two plays and be Braxton Miller. All we're saying is, just like in the Miami game, when sleepy eyes, Carson Beck took advantage when pressure was coming, he saw nothing downfield, he took off and picked up critical first downs to move the chains for his team. That's what Julian Sande's to do. There was one particular play where there was three yards to the first down and he could have got it with his feet easily. He didn't do it. Now, some people think he's scared to run. I disagree. Nevada, we have both let y'all know that he, well, he rushed for over 1,000 yards in high school if I'm correct over his four years. It might be more than that. He was deemed a dual threat quarterback in his recruiting profile. No, he's not Braxton Miller, but he can run. He's not slow. He can certainly pick up a first down, you know, on third and five if there's an opening. He can do it, but he's a quarterback

39:46and a elite quarterback who's looking downfield, but he has to understand situationally that, bro, you gotta just get, get, move the chains. You cannot wait, okay? Unless it's just right there wide open, okay, cool. If not, you got to take off. And that comes with time and a feel of the game and an emphasis from the coaching staff to do that. And I'm encouraged. I think it's actually going to happen. All people laugh at me. They've already laughed at me, Nevada. Oh, you know, he just talking. I disagree. I think this is going to be a change Nevada and I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, I think it's going to be a change. It would just because, you know, one Ryan Day is not a stupid person, okay? And it would take a stupid person at this point to ignore the impact of the quarterback running on cultural ball games, you know what I'm saying? I mean, like the evidence, it's not even about opinion anymore. It's just like everybody runs. Everybody athletic guys, non-athletic guys,

40:47big guys, small guys, you know, indoor, outdoor, good weather, bad weather. They all run. And so, you know, when you're literally the only team in cultural ball that doesn't run the quarterback, at some point you got to tune in. So I do believe it is just because I think Ryan has kind of seen, I don't know why it's taking him this long, frankly, but here we are and being a better late than never. Yep, better late than never for sure. A couple other notes, you know, I'm sure a lot of you have heard this, but the staff seems to like Lee Roy Roker. He was told to lead, you know, the huddle today. And so Roker, he seems to be a leader. He was over the depth chart on some of these guys that transferred that we thought were higher recruits. Now, I still, I guess, want to see more from Roker. I trust the staff, but Nevada, there was a play.

41:48I forget, again, who it was, but he got burnt badly and is still in my mind. So I need some other plays to erase that from my memory. But with that said, I defer to the staff. Obviously, clearly they like him on the field and as a leader. So anything on Roker being caught out today. Yeah, I mean, look, you've got to open safety spot. And he's a guy that, you know, I've seen it through my years of watching Ohio State. You always, there's always somebody every year that kind of, you know, maybe has come in and had limited action didn't do well or just been kind of buried a little bit. And you start to see it. It's stuff like this. I mean, the fact that they're having him, you know, lead the huddles, that's not a small thing. That's a something. And so, you know, when they're doing that, you know, they're, they're telling them, hey, this is your time. You've got an opportunity to do it. And would not surprise me at all to see him do it. Again, he's another guy who's named that I've heard from the strength and conditioning staff over the winter. So he'd really put in the work.

42:49So it's nice to see somebody put in the work and then, you know, how it kind of gets translated to the field here. Although, you know, first day in spring football, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him make a move here in the spring. So they definitely wouldn't form. Yeah, for sure. I mean, listen, again, as a fan, because I'm a fan, you know, I'm an analyst. I'm a podcaster. I'm a football junkie, a critical thinker, but I'm still a fan. And so, you know, you basically, at the end of the day, I'm smart enough to defer to the staff because they see these players more. Does that mean the staff is infallible and incapable of making mistakes? Absolutely not. We've seen some things over the years. I've like, that was a mistake. And clearly here's the evidence, but more often than not, if you got a good smart staff, they're going to make the right decision. And so they see these kids more than we do, and they like Roker a lot. And one other note,

43:50Allegrio from Wisconsin, was hearing that he looks bigger than people thought and faster. He won a rep against a passing rep against a believer running back. And so, you know, I think, I don't know. I'm very curious to see it because again, going back and watching him Nevada, he was good for Wisconsin. He was a good player. Like he's one of those guys where he's a football player. I know that's cliche and overused, but that's what he is. He can make tackles. He's not slow. He can get out to the quarterback. He's physical. And so, I'm very curious to see what he comes in and does in this linebacker room, especially with only the two linebackers we primarily use in our 425 look, anything on Allegrio and him coming in, you know, looking good so far. Well, not surprising. Again, he was a guy that, you know, I think he was the defensive player of the game for Wisconsin twice against Ohio State. I mean, he's always been a pain in our side.

44:52I mean, he's a guy that you notice. He's a guy that, you know, I'm not surprised at all to see him kind of. It'd be more surprising to me if he wasn't impact a little Ohio State. So, yeah, I mean, he's one of the guys that I'm the most excited about. Probably the one that I'm most sure about because coming from another big 10 school, so, you know, he's familiar with the league. Notice how to play veteran guy, leadership guy. You know, he got the equivalent of the blocko there at Wisconsin. And I'm not surprised at all to hear that he's playing well, doing well. I think he's going to be a terrific player for Ohio State. Yep, yep. And good leadership, good veteran experience and leadership coming into that room. So, you know, I mean, that's kind of what it comes down to. But yeah, I see y'all in the chat talking about saying, and before we get the super chats again, because to me, based on the comments, I just don't know for on the same page. And like, again, and you tell me if you agree, Nevada,

45:55we're not saying we need Julian saying to be Will Howard. That's not what I'm saying. I don't think Nevada's saying that. We don't need him to be a dual threat quarterback. We just need him to understand situational football when it makes sense to take off and run to move the chains for your team. That's it. That's it. And I brought up the comparison to Carson Beck in that game. Carson Beck was never known as a running quarterback. Matter of fact, he was clowned for not being, he for being a statue. And listen, I'll be honest, he burned me because remember, Nevada, me, you and Dev, we're talking about who will we rather see. Texas A&M or Miami. As a ninth year senior however long he's been in college football. He was savvy and experienced in season enough

50:00to know the situation and take off and make huge plays with his feet to move the chains. That's what we're saying. He needs to go, he needs to drop back and look down field primarily. But as he continues to grow as a quarterback he'll have a feel for the game to no win to take off and scramble. That's what we're saying. Nevada, do you agree with that? I mean, look, in four of the last five years we've had zero rushing TDs out of our QB1, zero. Over that same four seasons, the next lowest combined out of 133 schools was seven. We were zero. I mean, that's how far we are behind everybody else and sort of running the quarterback. So like opportunistic running for sure. I mean, heck, I don't even mind if it's thirred and whatever long and you call a design quarterback draw like they did with Fernando Mendoza and you know what I'm saying?

51:00Like if they give it to you, you know, Julien saying it is not a porcelain doll. You can't believe me. He rushed for more yard tonight's school than archmaning. He can do this, you know what I'm saying? Like, I just, I don't get this thing where it's like, we just can't, we got to wrap him and bubble wrap him, you know, and Julien, the boy and the bubble saying, I mean, I just don't get it. So, yeah. I don't know why they crack me up so much. Of course they don't. No, but I mean, it's true. I mean, I, the way people talk about it, it's like, like, you know, I mean, nobody wants to get their quarterback, you know, hurt and put out for the year. But I think that the risk of that is really overdone. That doesn't really happen that often, you know what I'm saying? Especially if you're not just hammering your quarterback in. I mean, freaking Patrick Mahomes was the leading rusher for the chiefs through eight games last year. Through eight games. He was the leading rusher, Patrick Mahomes, the franchise, the face of the NFL,

52:00and not exactly a fleet guy. You know, you're not talking about Lamar Jackson or, you know, you're not talking about Josh Allen, you know, you're freaking Patrick Mahomes was the leading rusher. So Patrick Mahomes can run, you know, he makes, what does he make? 60 million a year or something like that? You're talking, you're talking, you're talking, we can't run Julian saying, come on. Yeah. Come on. No, I agree, I agree. And also the word is he looks bigger. As he should, being in a weight program and, you know, a young man is still growing. And so that's going to help it. Like you said, like, yes, sometimes it's okay to dial up. I want to make it even more clear, because I agree Nevada. It's okay to dial up a, a Q draw on third and long when the defense thinks that it's never going to happen. Like, they're not going to run Julian saying. And then he has a wide open lane up the middle to get the first down. And they're, and they're in man defense.

53:01And all the, all the defenders are run off on deep routes. And he's back there and it takes off. Like he can do that and he can learn how to slide or he can learn how to get down. So again, we're not saying we need to run him and pound him like JT Barrett. No way. He's not that dude. But he can certainly be savvy enough to pick up five yards here, seven yards there and use him situationally to confound the defense. Like, period. So I'm excited about this quote. And I think we're going to see growth with this Nevada that you have it. Well, Arthur Smith ran Aaron Rodgers last year. They ran some option with Aaron Rodgers. And Aaron Rodgers is a hundred years old and two bad knees that can't, you know, I mean, I can outrun Aaron Rodgers and they ran him. So if they could run Aaron Rodgers, you can sure as heck run JT. It's four time NFL MVP of Aaron Rodgers. You can sure as heck run Julian saying.

54:02Come on. Yep. And my last thing I'll say because again, this has been a contentious back and forth in general with fans is that I do agree with something you're on the chat. Now, okay, I have some, some understanding for coach day and any coach when you have chugging off behind your quarterback or a, you know, somebody you notice not that can't play that well. I understand the angst of not running your quarterback too much because you are done so if they get hurt. Now, in this case, last year Lincoln King holds, I don't think he was, he wasn't great, but he wasn't bad. I think he could have been fine. Maybe he's no chugging off this year. I have confidence in Tavion saying clear in his third year. I think there may be more confidence to, hey, we don't want saying to get hurt,

55:03but if he did, Tavion, this is his third year and he's pretty darn good. I think we'll be okay. So I'll end it with that. I don't know if you wanted to respond to that before we get the super chats, but... No, I just don't, I just don't think you can ever live your life just more than about the, you know, I mean, if Julian saying, if Julian saying could get hurt in practice, Julian saying could get hurt, carrying a TV up and down the stairs, like Seth and Bob, you know what I'm saying? Like, you know, I mean, there's a million ways that people can get hurt. So, you know, I, our offense will never reach its full potential until you activate the quarterback run. It just won't, it's impossible to do it in modern football. You have to present that as a threat to the opposition until you do that. You're just making it so hard. Yeah, I agree. This is funny from Bootsilla. Chugs was a Buckeye legend for that couple of minutes. Yeah, when Justin Fields went out and Chugs came in, they've him throw.

56:03Remember to have him throw and he has a guy open. If he'd have thrown the touchdown pass, Chugs, I mean, Chugs, they'd have named like some cauliflower pizza after Chugs up there at the little brown drug but Michigan or something like that. It had been the paid shivers and chugging off from the cauliflower pizza. Oh goodness. I remember when Chugs went that game. I was just like, Jesus Christ, Lord help us. But that is funny.
