I'm one of your hosts. It's Rural Pal, Mike Spears. Join alongside your other host, Kase Low, in case I feel like that we have had a lot of wrestling to watch since last time we've talked. You know, the nice thing is it's been a lot in terms of quantity, but I also think it's been a lot

in terms of quality, which is a very nice situation to be in. Yeah. Did you watch the all-in buy-in because I would argue sometimes about the quality aspect? I can assure you that I did not watch the all-in buy-in. I have some recommendations to throw your way right off the bat, though. I got my pad and paper out. You know, I produced this as we go along. So I always have my pen and paper here. So instead of like us, like sometimes doing edits, I want to take down your recommendations right now. Well, I have two Japanese promotions that aren't Dragon Gate that I would like to briefly discuss before we get into the finals of Block Plan Rade Pre-Hos, the Kotoko situation, the Shima situation, the Magna Tokyo situation, all of which are brand new, all of these are new stories that have happened in the last week or so. It's a situation in the shift episode. I feel like situation. The shift episode will preview the cork at Hall Show that I am excited about in the sense that I get to watch it live this week, this Thursday. I'm also confused

as to why the matches that are on that show are on that show. I'm a little stunned by what they put on paper after I thought was a pretty good August, but we'll get to all of that. But I have two promotions here. You can start with promotion A or you can start with promotion B. I will not tell you the promotion, but I'll leave it up to you at the jump. Which one would you like to hear about first, Mike? I want to promotion B. Promotion B, I had a feeling you would do that. So if you recall, I believe it was our Kobe World Review episode. We not only spent, obviously an extensive amount of time talking about Kobe World, Kakuza versus Kaze, the state of Daringate. We spent a lot of time talking about the red headed stepchild of the Dragon System, which is Glate. Because we were just coming off of the show that always happens on your birthday, the Glate anniversary show. This was the fifth anniversary this year. And I was talking about how I really enjoyed Lindemann versus Teahawk and how there were some things happening in that promotion where at least on paper, I was morbidly intrigued by it. I promised to watch a bunch

of footage and report back on my findings. Oh, are it. Did you like hide a case, Glate homework report in this opening segment? Well, I, what I did was I caught up on a very selective viewing, but I looked at everything. Which is what you probably should be doing with Glate. Yeah. I can't, I'm not, I'm not the type of guy outside of Dragon Gate and AW. I'm not the type of guy that sits down and goes, I'm putting on this show opening bell to closing bell. That's just not, I don't have the time to do that. That's never been what I've done. Now promotion. Hey, though, we'll talk about here just a second. I'm getting pretty damn close to doing that for some of their shows. But I looked at the Glate cards from July 2nd to now. And I said, all right, let me, let me take a look at what they've got going on. Let me see if this promotion is still intriguing me on paper. And let me go ahead and watch the matches that I think look entertaining.

I watched, I would say, I don't know between the one, two, three, four, I've been like five, five shows that have made tapes and said, I probably watched five matches or a match or two per show that I thought looked interesting. Unfortunately, Mike, I have come away with only one singular recommendation from Glate in July and August of 2026. Yeah, yeah, sadly, it has not been a super interesting post sonic wrestling run for them. Like they've just announced that they're now doing like this weekly kind of show and basement monster of all places, which should not really give you like a whole lot of confidence. And they've been running the team Noah and Vader Aigengl, which is when I be headlined with a fun quarkin. Let's guess the attendance when it happens when a sushi katouge is going to be challenging a lineman for the g-wreck's title. So that's the problem is that I was thinking about my relationship with a sushi katouge and how historically I would say I am a fan of this wrestler. I think katouge has been involved in a number of legitimately great

matches matches that I love. I think there was a point in time slightly predating and during the Suzuki gun Noah era where the Noah juniors division was Liger and Tiger Mask for and it was Zach Saber Jr. and Ogawa and it was briefly TMDK before they went heavyweights and it was briefly towards the tail end of that ACH and Taiji Ishumori as a tag team and it was desping kind of more as a tag team. And in the thick of that were Harada and katouge as a team that was never going to have a match the year contender, but their matches were always going to exist somewhere between three and a quarter and four and a quarter stars. They were really fun undercard wrestlers. I love that era of their career big fan of it. Katouge has gone on to do some stuff that I really enjoy. There is something and I don't know if it's unfair to say. There is something repulsive about the idea of watching as you said katouge have a singles run in glee in 2026. I will watch

him. Is it him and Linda Minnick-Korkin? Yep, that's it's that and then Eto versus Simon Gatch for the little day UWF which bumps me out because did you end up watching any of the second moto UWF stuff? No, but I know you liked it. It's really worth your time and it's only like a half hour. Okay, that's good because I got to do some more second moto for SFM 50 this year because I think he's going to be on my list but I got to figure out where exactly. So I will watch katouge versus Linda Minn more so because it's a big lendemann singles match and I'm still a lot of point where that excites me. But of all the things Glee could have done, I'm not sure that a Noah Jr.'s invasion is the thing that is going to get me to carry about this promotion. There is just something something about katouge wrestling a bunch of singles matches. Even him versus Yalimora which just happened in Yokohama. Like I don't know man, I don't I don't really want to see that. I don't really want to see high 69 in Muhammad Yone versus El Linden in the Hayato Tumora which is the semi-main event on that show. I just I think I'm good on that. I don't think

I need that in my diet right now, especially when I'm enjoying contemporary Japanese wrestling over the last two months more so than I have in a few years now. No and I would also say like the the wild thing about like Glee and how they're releasing stuff like that. Yokohama show is not up and instead all these basement wants are like little filler shows are up instead. Well not not all of them because my big complaint is that we have the 821 basement monster show which for those that don't know basement monster is a venue that I feel like I there was a point in time where I was watching J stage shows. Yeah J stage would run there for sure which was before Joji Otani was canceled a very entertaining Japanese indie promotion. Then there was a point where and I think this is rightfully so where basement monster started running some some shows during COVID like actual COVID times and that is a venue that Glee is doing 89 fans and basement monster and 89

fans are on top of each other so even the concept of social distancing in this venue felt like a far so just felt completely ridiculous it's just it's too small a place to actually have any sort of COVID protocol in there but Glee does now running this venue they're announcing 89 fans. The 821 show may take the promise that I don't care about anything on the 821 show. I would I watched it last week when we were doing those days and nothing was kind of peaking to me. No but I would like to watch this 828 show that is uploaded because the top three matches it's up now. The 828 show is 828 went up today. Oh well that changed just things okay I got to give this a look then that's good to know because this is T Hawk versus man first. Hey it's there's one person that's going to make sure that everyone's going to stay abreast of Glee it's going to be me. I appreciate that I did not see that get uploaded I would like to watch T Hawk versus man Vert Jack I have a perverse interest in Fumonari Abe Gamma and the sick versus Junji Michiko Takenari

Eto and Takahiro Yamamura and a five on four handicap match and I am genuinely interested in L Lindemann and Hayato tomorrow versus Kazuma Sakamoto and so the watch and Abe that is a fun top three match that's a great potential tag match. It's a great potential tag match it's in basement monstar which is interesting because obviously it's not good that Glee does running shows there again you you physically cannot fit 100 fans in this building but the one recommendation I have for you Mike from the July second show to now because I watched a lot of stuff that I thought even looked decent on paper that did not connect with me whatsoever Tokyo bad boys not doing it for me the Kazuma Sakamoto stuff that I saw not doing it for me my one recommendation is the opening match from the July second the beginning of the 60 year show from basement monstar oh yeah yeah T Hawk versus Joe Yamamoto who was Glee's young boy that was a fine professional wrestling contest let me

tell you T Hawk's actually a great pro wrestler right now and he's been better than I think people realize because people don't want to touch Glee like he is I think the best worker in the promotion easily hands down like more so than Lindemann at this point based on what I've seen this year he's had a little bit better of a year than Lindemann I would agree with that yeah but no and now everything with Glee is no longer paywalled I think they still have house shows that they don't put up in any sort of fact yeah but yeah I know we're way down Yokohama from there even though I'm not really looking forward to seeing Yamamura job to Katoge who the whole team know a thing like they brought in and they ended up having to have Kiyomi bail out I forgot who it was team Noah that got injured but like they had to bring him in there on the same show they brought in Marifujin it did nothing and there's but they decided to basically run the exact same program that they did with Gogia Zaki

when they wanted him to go away but not quit the promotion yeah that that's what it feels like to me with Katoge right now yeah I think that's a fair read of that situation that does not speak to me in any way whatsoever I don't know who this G sharp wrestler is that they have coming in for the September 4th show yeah no that's a that's a new name for me too I didn't see that on the floor let me say because sometimes you know it's random friends that Shima would meet and to buy coming through you never knew who did all this with this scouting and where they came from this looks to be the cage match of this guy who is a San Fernando Valley based wrestler so out in California he works game changer he works a lot of future stars of wrestling which is the Vegas promotion that partner with OWE so that would make sense it looks like he did a little bit of New Japan strong a few years ago

looks like he did an AEW match at some point let me pull up this AEW match real quick he was on AEW dark 145 in a job or trio that lost to Brody King buddy Matthews and Malachi Black in a trio's match also on that on that dark as I pull up this card here Pock Pentagon and Ray Phoenix versus the factory of Aaron Solo QT Marshall and the Freak Beast Nick Kamarado who I can't believe is it one of the biggest stars in wrestling yeah but you but there's few names that make me happier and make me giggle than hearing Mr. Freak Beast Nick Kamarado you you know this it was an unironic take that I had that I thought QT Marshall's the factory you were it's factory I thought it was such a great act I thought they were all if not going to be big stars I thought they were all going like I thought they were going to be a regularly featured act on TV that would be over and

would generate heat and I thought it would lead to the Freak Beast Nick Kamarado becoming a big star and every time he pops up now I just look at that guy and I go there's no way that he's doing what he's doing now like he has to this is the worst version of his career yeah and then also like at the same time I think he's one that's also like a certified public accountant too so he's probably doing that double dip live oh maybe maybe you know you get a good degree and then you know you don't mind having to do 14 hour tapings and Jackson though yeah yeah I just I wanted him to be a big star I see that he wrestled Rhino in a dark match on AEW dynamite this year did you know about this where they in Detroit they were to try yeah yeah cuz they always bring out Rhino in Detroit I I missed this episode because there's a moxley versus commander match on here that I know I haven't seen oh yeah no you're at least in my books for 2026 wrestling you're John Moxley

interesting all right well that's my one great recommendation let me hit you with the other promotion I want to talk about here real quick which is all Japan pro wrestling Mike did you catch any of this all Japan juniors tournament buddy I have a pile of stuff that now that Ray Day Preah os is over that I'm going to get into the Osaka show Osaka pro uh Giora hour is on top of that list and then I'm going to get into this junior battle glory yeah for those that don't know the Giora episode the the TV of the Osaka pro show from July 20th which was the same day as Kobe World that was the show with Matsufasu versus Aron Sano was the main event for the Osaka pro title that has since aired on Giora that is out there online and that match is now in full we only got a clip version of it on YouTube that matches now in full I watched it I have a lot of thoughts on it that I will wait for you to watch that match before I share them but my yeah yes I'll have that watch for next week excellent this August all Japan juniors tournament I'm enjoying

all Japan more right now than I ever have before I love this promotion they're my favorite Japanese group of the year yeah I don't watch any Joshi I can't comment on the year Stardom's had but for men's companies it is all Japan by a mile and I am getting more and more into this roster I'm starting to get my own guys I'm starting to pick up on the booking patterns a little bit more this Dan Tomora it's so exciting to watch him now because I don't think he's a finished product at this moment in time I don't think he's all the way there but I was thinking after Osprey versus Omega about how Osprey had those matches in 2023 with Umano and with Suji and Osprey was still you obviously hanging around New Japan at that point and I think Osprey incidentally gave people a lot of false hope about some of the new Japan heavyweights because Osprey was having match of the year contenders with them and the match with Umano especially the match with Umano is is one of the

best New Japan matches of the 2020s I don't really think that Umano still is capable of doing anything near that when he's not in the ring with Osprey which is a massive issue but I was thinking about how there's there's just a generation of Japanese wrestlers that I think they they were young boys they graduated they reached a certain point 2022 2023 2024 this includes some guys in Dragon Gate they reached a certain point and logic told us well they're only going to get better from here we've seen them at this point imagine them two years from now three years from now four years from now and now we're at that time period and it is only in the last month or two months that I'm starting to see what I hoped some of those wrestlers would turn into I think we just had a year or two where the future of Japanese wrestling these guys had just completely plateaued and they weren't getting better and Dan Tamora is a very small part of that equation but it's exciting to watch him right

now because I thought for the longest time was like all right he's he's good like if I if I get recommended the Dan Tamora match I'll watch it it'll be fine I won't think much of it after the fact this guy in real time is getting so good and it is so entertaining to watch him he's at two matches with the Rookie Dory this year one in Kobe a Kobe Samba Hall July 25th that I gave four in a quarter two and then a rematch in this all Japan junior tag tournament on August 21st and I also gave four in a quarter two those matches are phenomenal Dan Tamora versus Julia Ioki from the ninth phenomenal Dan Tamora versus Musaki Mochizuki from the 15th phenomenal and Mike this Musaki Mochizuki versus Julia Aoki match from August 23rd is the match of the tournament Mochizuki was great in this junior tournament better output than Dory and I obviously think very highly of Dory and as singles output and I wish we had more of it in in in in Dragon Gate Mochizuki was just

electric and I started doing what I do cherry picking very selective at the matches that I watched and the more that I watched the more started going I kind of I kind of just want to watch this whole tournament like I at least want to watch most of this tournament because all of the Dory stuff and all of the Tamora stuff and all the Mochizuki stuff and some of the Aoki stuff it was all it was all really entertaining but this Mochizuki versus Aoki match Mike Mochizuki gets hit hit harder in this match then maybe all but a handful of Mochizuki matches I've ever seen before Ioki happers this guy with strikes that took me a back I was gasping at how hard Mochizuki was hit Mochizuki of course in return gave it right back a great young pug versus Mochizuki match added to the compilation disc just phenomenal stuff all around from all Japan but you will like this junior tournament watch the Mochizuki watch the Tamora stuff look at the Dory stuff that interest you

there's a Mochizuki versus Dory match that is not not a notebook style great match but it's it's kind of a territory Dory match which I know you really enjoy that's a ton of fun towards the end of the tournament as well really well booked really entertaining and you get Dragon Gate guys in there pulling their weight and by the way before I throw it back to you did you see that our boy Gucci was on a pair of all Japan shows this week yeah I was about to ask did you catch him on those shows since you've been up on that I watched him on his second appearance because the first night the first night he was there no I'm sorry I watched him on his first night not a second night no I watched him on a second night okay so I get confused because he team with Hadecki Suzuki both nights the first the first night was Gucci Hadecki Suzuki and Hakuuto Amori I did not watch that match the second night was Gucci Hadecki Suzuki and Musashi as a trio's team and Hadecki Suzuki who I have never said a nice word about I am not a Hadecki Suzuki guy I've never been I don't

enjoy the man the work they come out to the natural vibes theme and Suzuki doesn't do the dance but he takes a step to the side to let Gucci and Musashi do the dance and then Hadecki Suzuki starts doing clap pushups next to them kind of for the beat of the natural vibe song and it's the most fun I've ever seen Hadecki Suzuki have I mean I he's such a weird guy like it tracks that he would get a lot of amusement out of doing something like that he is the weirdest guy Gucci in that match he's wrestling Leon Deoro Yuma Ayoyagi and use Takayana who I believe is the ex Noelle wrestler who is a sex past and I will say that I thought Gucci held his own for a seven minute undercard trio's match he's the type of guy like I really hope that all Japan does some sort of either

junior tag tournament later this year or that they just bring him back looks like they're already their junior tag tournament this year damn that's right this was a good tournament what a great promotion because this was when Mochizuki junior and Rio in a way were teaming so they've missed their they missed their mark there so Mochizuki and Gucci can't team up in the Allspan Junior Tag like this year and Gucci obviously can't be in the Allspan Junior league this year because they just did it for 2027 but I would really like to see him in an Allspan tournament I think he would crush it actually yeah I mean he's already at this point that he feels that at least comparatively to Aki who I mean bless his heart now has that shoulder injury he's pretty far ahead of Aki and he's been pretty far out of Aki for a while and I think the promotion has acknowledged that too that him getting these outside opportunities and being able to do like I mean just counterwise that Allspan situation is not gonna work for him but just the idea of him going and doing doing this I think he's on the last next show that Hamare is on to the final I'm not not next show the

the final Shinjuku face show that DETs budding on I think oh that sounds right yeah but but I mean that's exactly the kind of things that this guy should be doing all the time now yeah I mean you're I don't think it's a conversation between he and Aki at this point and that's not to discredit Aki but no no I mean as we talked about two weeks ago and as we'll talk about more in this episode when we talk about the best match from Ridey Preyhoss this year Gucci is to me so comfortably so comfortably one of the 50 best wrestlers in the world this year and as I said two weeks ago he's sort of creeping into that you know it was like at the beginning of the year it's like okay he's like a 45 to 50 type guy and then he was hanging around the 40 to 50 range for a while and now he's in that 30 to 40 range and you're depending on what the booking holds for but if we get two more high caliber whether their tags or trios or you know God willing singles that he delivers like okay well now we're in the 25 to 30 range for him for this year and depending on how the good those matches are maybe that gets bumped up to 20 to 25 like I feel

that confident in his ability as a wrestler right now he's sort of taken on the mantle not to get too far ahead of ourselves you're at the Ridey Preyhoss talk but every once in a while this promotion just needs that spark plug guy and sometimes it comes in the way of a unit sometimes it comes in the way of a guy you know the work that Gucci's doing right now reminds me a lot of 2018 2019 Jason Lear reminds me a lot of 2019 shoe skywalker and that when these cards are announced my eyes are just sort of darting to whatever they're doing because it's rarely going to be a main event but if it's in a decent spot on the card and it's with the right opponent it is very likely going to be the match of the night at this point and that's not to discredit you motto and kasy in the main event that's not to discredit real yet tenaka who's obviously been amazing and you know it was probably a top 15 top 20 guy in the world this year but I'm as invested in Gucci as I in it as I am anybody on the roster right now and I have no doubt for its talented as this all

Japan juniors roster is right now which I don't think is the sense that I've really ever said before but Gucci could go in there tomorrow and I think he would be great with rising a hiato I think he would be great with the end tomorrow right obviously love to see him in a rookie joy mix it up with all it's pan like the future so bright for this guy and and the special thing with him is that with every opportunity he gets he passes with flying colors he's developing the same tendency that kame has and that tenaka has where you can just trust that the bigger the spot this guy is in the better he's going to deliver yeah and he is so much at a point where it's not like dissimilar to where shun was with mochizuki dojo and where he he was doing that stuff with mochizuki but it was clear that like he had in shoulders he was head shoulders at this point and for Gucci I mean the one thing that's going to be difficult for him is if they just figure that

out that he's just a good match guy and he ends up in a kame position because we've seen that it that in a lot of ways that kind of slots you and at this point which is going to hear it flaw of the promotion right now right yeah an easy flaw like the idea and in an example of major clothes mindedness to be fair that's the type of thing that like I don't know this is probably a separate conversation we should probably go throughout history and go through like the spark plugs of certain eras where they're not the most pushed guy but they are the guy that when the cards are announced or the name that you go to like I'm just trying to think throughout history like 20 like for a long time it's going to be tazawa that you're going to be saying and so that's the internal debate I'm having is like is 2011 tozawa or tozawa pushed too hard and is it more I'm trying to go through that 2011 aros from my head right now or it's like

is it it's probably a ricochet is probably pushed too hard it's probably like like tomahawk tia yeah okay you know you know you can tennazaki tennazaki probably had that role for a little bit it's the same role that if kagatora was getting pushed kagatora has been that guy for a lot of people maybe not for me personally but kagatora has held that role for a very long time with the number of people yeah no and and I think that sometimes with those kinds of roles you see with like your kagatora is that you eat that can breed for a lack of better words like like onway that that can just breed like okay I'm going through the motions at at a certain point and that's one of the reasons why I'm like I don't know how good it is if he gets slotted into that role this play play no I mean look I feel very strongly that if rio isanaka is going to lose the brave gate belt it should be to gootsian it should be in cork and haw and I don't I can't even entertain the idea of somebody else at this point in time beating him and that that includes kame

that includes rita that includes heo that includes rio fuda who they are angling to at least have a very hotly contested brave gate match and I I wholeheartedly disagree with the idea of food up beating tenaka I don't think that would do either of those guys any good but I think given the inring year that he's had and given the crowd connection that he has and the connection he has to cork and haw not to mention the Yamato brave gate match from last year which is such an integral part of his story if you're not going to have to not do the thing where he just wins out and then wins the dream gate belt and vacates the brave gate belt which I've been full supportive if that's what they want to do but if you're not going to do that there's one guy on the roster right now that is ready for that position and it's Gucci and it's I just I can't even entertain another idea no I think I'm pretty much sad on that he needs to dream gate and vacate at this point but we've talked about it and it feels like that that that that the dance card for tenaka is still has

a lot of opportunities to go places but none of them other than Gucci getting on a hot run feels like that they would be like the appropriate and not a major step back kind of situation but but there will need to be a reset after this run regardless and vacating and doing a brave gate tournament is the kind of reset that I feel like that is easy from the do and I feel like that they'd be more willing to kind of do that necessarily than maybe go like okay time we just had literally the greatest brave gate if not single title run in this company's history here you go Gucci go go at it I don't know necessarily it if that is a right way to kind of set him up or some side well the nice thing was Gucci if we were to live in this hypothetical scenario that probably won't happen is that that's a guy it's all in the chase with him more so than this title rain you you can have him beat tenaka have one successful defense and then lose it and everybody comes out better for it yeah I mean like that I think like thinking about wrestling that that's gone on over like a recent

over the recent week I mean like that's gonna be the real test of a lot of people's if you are a chasing baby face or if you're actually a baby face champion and I think that with Gucci there's a lot of exit points there I just there's going to be such a need of a reset and how they do it will be fascinating and maybe it is Gucci gets it and then drops it and then then then you're able to kind of pick up from there or it can be you know the brave gate tournament that they do a time and time again yeah it's all about just releasing that tension it's it's why I don't think tenaka to heo make sense but I think tenaka to Gucci to heo make sense it's why I like the booking of Madoka kukuta and Raidae pre-hastas year where you know he finished with zero points he lost every match but it just it just took the year for that it just he feels reset exactly it just took the air out of the balloon in a way that it was desperately needed I'm all of a sudden reengaged with the idea of Madoka kukuta I'm curious to see what he does next it looks like they're gonna have him and uha and some sort of match together at Tokyo infinity Pedro Pascal or whatever

the fuck the show's called so I'm I'm back in on kukuta I think what we've learned here is that he is not a one a he is he is the best two you could ask for he's the best second and command guy you could want he's not a leader and when you see him leading this heel unit but the heel unit not being dominant all of a sudden he becomes much more palatable than if they I mean you know I think it would have been a nightmare if he and Jason had finished with like eight points in this tournament I just I think that would have been terrible for everybody but finished with zero hard reset he's vulnerable again very nice booking very well done yeah and we'll get more into the full last weeks of a block play in a moment but case I don't know why it is that I have found myself in this position of Dragon System muck raker and especially as it relates to the things that have happened in 2026 but we have a lot of stuff kind of outside of Dragon Gate but inside the

Dragon System that we're gonna talk about for a little bit because there are things happening with a lot of our kind of favorite characters and someone that kind of reappeared out of nowhere with a bomb from outside over the last week around the Dragon System yeah we got what three topics here quick hit me on these let me let me know what's going on because I've only loosely followed all of these I don't have a ton of info on any of them yeah so I'm gonna I can really tie two of them together the other one is actually one that is going to take a little bit of time to get through so it finally became national wrestling news in Japan but Shima has been a victim of massive misoper misappropriation and like a level of fraud that someone impersonating a wrestler basically got away with his entire retirement savings slash family savings to an amount that as reported in Tokyo sports is the amount of a full luxury car which I think is a they have not useful figures

throughout this entire thing but a full luxury car I think we can safely say about $75,000 American that got frauded out of them from a guy who hacked a WhatsApp account of a American wrestler that Shima knew and asked him to do a be a middleman for a bulk luxury Japanese whiskey purchase and it was basically the wire fraud of saying like hey you're the middleman I'm gonna I'm going to wire you the money and then you need to pay it in yen he sent him a screenshot of his wire then Shima paid into this one account to buy the whiskey and it was just a fraudster so Shima has now made like it's kind of become a little bit of big news and Shima has used it to in a way ramp up his independent career and going like hey I'm starting now from zero and I'm just recommitting it to myself that I'm a I'm entering my 30 year pro wrestling but I'm going to go at it as hard as I can because now I have literally nothing as the way as ways that he is described to he's been

really kind of self-effacing of being himself off of yeah it's just such a sad story Shima or not all of these fraud stories are really sad to me and the Shima one you're right it the the face that Shima is putting on publicly is one of great Shima and one of great embarrassment and it's it's very odd it's very odd yeah and it's one of those things that I mean if he were to retire as I know you and Jay felt a lot more strongly about this than I did and I still do essentially whatever Ness that he had for what was probably going to be his retirement career whatever him and his wife we're playing to do is completely gone it was noted that he did say that a egotist friend of mine offered to pay for my my daughter schooling so I'm not completely out of the blue because you you knew one way or another Magnum was can get involved in this oh that's yeah exactly which I mean

I guess very nice of Magnum to do but yes speaking of speaking of Magnum and Shima so there was a really cool event happening in pre in the prefecture of Mia this last weekend that I want to get the town that is happening right Yokai Chi Mia did this a part of like broader revitalization in the variety deriving pride in Yokachi Mia they had a big wrestling show for free that happened they raised about 80,000 yen for this like as like a pride for their hometown I don't think that there's really any of wrestling link to it other than there was a show that was put on that had a really huge dragon system been and it's not just the show itself the entire day around Yokachi was based around Shima Magnum Tokyo and Masado Yoshino they did a big talk show there was a handshake thing and then there was a wrestling show that was held outside and a clip that went viral

for the first time in 17 years Magnum Tokyo wrestled in a wrestling ring win him and Masado Yoshino had a spontaneous exhibition and locked up and that went kind of viral throughout pro wrestling so Tokyo was looking at Magnum's looking a little better than we thought I thought at least in that one matchup that one lockup he had yeah I mean given the context of the clip he is moving around quite nicely I think I think if he had his way and he had control over his body in the way that he was hoping I think that next May we would get a Shima retiree match that was Shima and Magnum versus X and X and I just don't know if Magnum's body has that in him anymore but it certainly not gonna score to a tire now yeah yeah we'll see that'll be an interesting an interesting payoff yeah I don't I don't know if Shima can retire now which is crazy because he had the runway and it was looking but you know what I mean the thing is he can retire and I would be very curious to see

if he would get a job almost akin to what Altmo has right now yeah I mean we've seen some recalculation especially with Magnum and him trying to getting out there and being there for the recalculation at least for Magnum's side that it does definitely feel like and this is all us just talking this through I'm not coming with any sourcing or anything like this guys but it feels like that before this incident happened to Shima there was a runway but now the runway is still there but it seems like like he's picking up wrestling shows like crazy right now like his schedule has really grown he has a talk show coming up with Magnum this week too so batten the hatches for that one coming up yeah well we'll see what happens I guess I I done tell you said that I think about the idea of Shima not being able to retire now but Shima might not be able to retire now

yeah yeah and I think a statement that can be made is that that savings he was one of the few people that was making legitimate money and the dragon system from was 20 years and then almost a decade outside of it not getting those paychecks not being the person one the first hands into the pile has like warranted away to that too which is another thing that I was kind of thinking about with that too but we have another thing our last one is going to be a little bit more to unpack case I'm going to try to talk us through this uh a favorite figure historically have opened the voice gate katoka has kind of stepped his foot into the dragon system drama mask because he started YouTube channel buddy and his first YouTube video was titled was I banned from Dragon Gate talk and and that has led to a level of discussion and I'm just going to walk everyone through this first video he's put up two videos about Dragon Gate and he's done more afterwards they're actually really interesting videos he's

hey he provides like a very kind of measured perspective especially for someone who's now achieving a whole lot of success outside of pro wrestling in general with his kicky gym brand I think is now 40 gyms nationwide in Japan but which is an aspect of this that we'll get into but essentially katoka talks about first uh his son like us case has become a huge asaka pro head he is all about that and he's at nature he's really wanting to get into pro wrestling so he wanted to go vc dragon gate and katoca makes it clear throughout his videos that he does everything respectfully and by the book and professionally and that should go without saying throughout this thing but he goes and he gets some heads up he says hi I want to come to show on him make sure it's okay I'm bringing my son he's becoming to get into wrestling and I thought it'd be cool to see my son to see where I worked which I feel like is a very kind of natural thing and we've seen people through who are retirees and who people who remain in the family do this time and time again I mean

taku owasa is at every show in senpai you know I mean like it is a regular thing to happen but what was said from dragon gate was we don't think you should be coming around right now so it would not be a good idea and then katoka said went on to it and said why is this that this happened let's talk about my last few years and he he discusses that every time katoka who has done a little bit of wrestling and we'll get into that in a second every time katoka has done anything like entertainment wise he has reached out the dragon gate office because he's wanted to do this the right way and he's tried to stay on the right side of the office so we needed mma a couple years ago remember he did a a amateur mma fight he reached out got their blessing did the fight 2025 comes around in shiro takagi opens up super japan which is this alternate universe of what dbt could be but in modern day this is the promotion that shima had the match with yuji nagata with earlier this year but he wants to bring katoka because in super japan there is this guy

mac mattesheeda who has a dragon system connection that we'll get into for a little bit but he wants to bring in katoka to work that so katoka goes to dragon gate and says yeah uh so dbt wants to bring me in i wanted to get your blessing and he said that's okay please be safe and that was the last time they talked to him before he asked to do their show or ask the kabrankas kids to the show and the the way that he unpacks this is that it is dragon gates right to do this of course but also the way that dragon gate in its way that they conduct themselves he he puts it and let me get these actphrase he says with us former wrestlers have to be very careful with how their relationship is with the company and he discusses how people like magnum have and later in a second video talk to people of magnum have reconciled but there's other people who still haven't and there's other things that you know that it's a white spectrum of things and he brought up the fact

that he thought it was just it was there right but he thought that it was something that needed to be talked about is the way they conduct themselves he doesn't really give the reason about why dragon gate would not want him to show up right now because it was not saying no you're forbidden to coming it was no you should not you should maybe come back later case do you remember who mac mattesheeda is no well I don't think you would do you remember mac u donorato the uh indie pseudo comedy wrestler kind of creep wrestler still now okay kids indie comedy wrestler i'm out of so no like that this is gonna tie back in mac mattesheeda used to be a dragon gate wrestler mac mattesheeda was in katoka's dojo class or a little bit after that the same class that had people like yohei which gets into this this go which maybe now you are connecting the the links here uh mac mattesheeda is the training that

was most heavily involved in the core incident okay he has been wrestling essentially under a mask for 15 to 17 years they're about and like that basically he would show up and deed he and stuff like that but mac he as mac mattesheeda was the first time he was wrestling unmasked and it's a weird thing that they care about this but it's the only connection i can kind of make katoka doesn't bring up matt mattesheeda to be clear but it's the only reason i can make any sense whatsoever why dragon gate would have would be mad at katoka working in ddd t-show because yamato worked dan kashino dino at resumo hall like two weeks ago but kotoka worked with the other wrestler on the ddd t-show yeah okay all right well i mean i you know i think one of the things that we've learned especially post 2021 this regime that's in charge drankate right now is that there are grudges that are

held there are scores that are trying to be settled or not be settled and you never really know what is going to leave you on the outs the equation that you put together there i think is the most logical explanation i think that's outstanding detective work to be able to put all that together that could very easily be the reason it can also it can also be drankate just being weird and i think that would be just as big of a reason would you agree oh no entirely so i mean that they are completely inscrutable sometimes with their decisions i mean given especially and it's not even just a new regime thing i mean how long did shingo takagi want to start working his way out of the promotion it was year old regime was weird at its own way this regime weirded a new way katoka does have one fun thing that he ended at the at the end of his videos that got another bit of

of outcry so i i have talked about kicky a lot you know i whenever katoka kind pops up i go like oh yeah i know he's like at 20 but jim's 30 jim's 40 jim's he brings up at the end of his first video that he had a personal goal when he started kicky and that was to have more revenue than dragon gage last year he managed to accomplish that i did not know that in the second video he said just so y'all are clear i'm not saying 20 25 dragon gage i'm saying 2018 dragon gage it's another which is under which is he given that a another kind of dig in a way because 2018 dragon gage would have been the last year he would have been aware of but that would also have been the last year the okamura regime and also the last year of shima around and this one he's saying that kicky is generating more than dragon gage or he himself is making more money now than he was then or both uh he doesn't mention anything about him making money it's all like his company kicky versus dragon gage gotcha and that pissed a lot of social media which i

could understand if you're either within dragon gage or if you're going to be a dragon gage loyalist in twitter stand i can understand why that in a number of levels would really get to you yeah but uh as always good for katoca kicking it i mean i don't know if he is completely being forthright with everything he's saying about his ban here i try to piece together the ban with the much as much information is that i have and like history with the company and everything like but uh good for him at least you know you hear so many stories and like he and a scaredness about like what happens with retired wrestlers and such like that but i mean you see a guy you know end his career of a bad neck injury he kind of scruffs around for a year or so and then you know five years later and i mean he's employing pro wrestlers like that you mentioned him earlier dyske herada i think is a manadrab one of the kicky jems right last i heard he was yes yeah so i mean he's kind of inherited a role that wrestlers like

masato tenaka and kentokobashi have had that like their jim's give wrestlers jobs so at the end of the day it's an interesting perspective from someone who has a different kind of angle on things and someone that i mean he was completely everything throughout his videos and his discussions incredibly forthright and also at the same time trying to be very clear of going like i've done everything by the books i've done everything that you should have been but they're being weird to me i think what we're gathering here is that in 2026 shima and magnaam tokyo might be on better standing with the company than kotoka is which is not something that i would have predicted in january yeah no i wouldn't have predicted that up until kotoka's video and with that i think it's probably time for us to get to raid day brahoss and close out block play as yesterday or two days ago rather was the conclusion of block play with uh neruki dois homecoming

show in nara but we we lucked out we ended up getting all of block play this year on the network so we were able to watch all of it and spend a couple of weeks on the last time that we had a voice kt ran through stuff that you were watching through those hakata shows but i think we should just kind of pick it up here and just run through the remainder of league play and then we'll get everyone prepared for the korkenhall semi finals and fall and finals coming up on thursday so i don't believe that you and i discuss the two fuqa woka shows because the last time that we spoke of raid day prairie house was last week and you had not seen these shows yet correct yeah okay well then let's start there and then i could recommend a few other things before we preview this korken show which i think is where the real meat of this discussion is going to be but just big picture here raid day prairie house 2026 to me this has been the best tour of the year i i would have it slightly edging out january when shimazoo came back and was running through natural vibes because i think

there were a lot of cracks in the armor on that tour that were shielded a little bit by shimazoo coming back and being so exciting and being you know i remember saying at the end of january of this year that by two favorite wrestlers in the world of 2026 were somehow dice case that commode with big boss shimazoo which feels like something i would have said 10 years ago and then one shimazoo got hurt in february you know everybody knows now the wheels fell off i would say march through june was as rough of a stretch as we've ever covered during this podcast as rough of a stretch as i've ever had to review for voices wrestling dot com and while this promotion is still far from perfect and i think we see that with the semi final booking of raid a prairie house i do think this was the first tour this year that was able to accurately portray some of the depth that is still on this roster i think for most of this year this roster has been portrayed as being painfully thin because

so many guys have just had nothing to do it's a it's mirrored a little bit it's my same issue with cml this year and i always go back to that line that cubs had early this year where he said cml right now is not booking as much as they are programming they are putting together matches stop wasting your nights on a mattress that doesn't get you experience the most comfortable mattress in the world the sleep number smart bed at the touch of a button you can personalize your comfort choose firmer or softer adjust cooler to warmer and right now save up to $2,500 during our massive labor day event hurry into your local sleep number store today because we have your number for a limited time in McDonald's get a big Mac extra value meal for eight dollars that means to all be petty special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a says we see bun and medium fries and the drink we may need to change that jingle price of it to switch me very they oftentimes aren't linked

to what happened the week before and aren't going to be linked to what's going to happen the week after they're just matches that are on that card and then they move on and i think cml is at a real problem with their booking this year i am not invested in that promotion at all right now my goal this week is to catch up on a little bit of stuff but i i am really i am really divested from where cml is that right now dragon gate i think was in a situation where they were pushing some of the wrong guys they were over pushing a handful of guys and then the undercards were bleak i mean it felt like a tumbleweed could go through match is one through four nobody would notice because there was nothing happening on those shows and to me this has been a great tour for come and Rita this has been a great tour for hamare and comora it's been a good tour for c yellow and montane out of great tour i think it's been a great tour for cagatora and sasumu i think it was a great tour for medoka cacuta and jason lee i think flamita and sangrea saka junior had some highs and some lows i think ginky horgusha and yes she con to have some highs and

had some lows overall start of the month to end of the month my favorite thing drangit has done this year yeah and i think you really hit the nail on the head that it was the fact that incorporated the entire roster and that at least and and we're watching more of the product because of every all the tournament matches making the network but it stands out even on the full network shows that we get like the double header and cacuta that you still had so much stuff going on up and down the cart outside of the tournament because you had a you already set up your brave and dream gate matches so you would have the previews of those happening constantly you would you would find stuff to do with fooda as it relates to gajadokuro and then just the the stories of some of these teams throughout the tournament i feel like provided a certain level of interest that i i don't

know but by the time that i got to the last block match for heo and johnny voleta it was kind of interesting me the fact that the the story starts off first night oh my god johnny voleta is going to be unstoppable in this and then immediately it goes okay it worked well one night let's the rest of the tournament it's not working out well at all until the final match where it felt like that they were getting back onto the same page until they had one last misfire and did that just having that one i don't know that that that's an e plot that's not even a abc or d that's an e-level plot going through your dragon gate shows is something that just hasn't been around the promotion i mean until well until last year and it makes it easy to keep up with the tournament and it's made it easy that even when you get into the nights that only that you get the full tournament shows maybe the non-tournament stuff might not be the high work rate stuff but you're always it felt like that there were stuff on these undercards that were pushing stories together

and it felt like that you were getting stuff out of it and that just was not the case outside of literally oh we have a title program so we need to do stuff around the title program of that's how uh that that's what all the the booking has been this year essentially has been it's been it's been booked around cacuta cheating and for a large portion of the year there's been two stories there's been cacuta cheating and there's been rio it's an akita fitting the brave gate belt and that's but yeah and that's just not an interesting promotion as we as we have seen with this but when you have things happening up and down the card every show and even when you get these house shows where you're just getting a little glimpse of each place and you're getting just just these two matches from places like amuda and you go like oh all right so we do have evidence that like jacke rea tuck and pull someone like liona to a three and a half star match all right now we have things like this so so there's just interesting stuff all throughout the tournament where sometimes

I feel like you get to the end of a dragon gate league style tournament and it's like the final nights and everything is kind of all kind of set but you still have matches to watch in the block play and it just feels like you're kind of doing homework in a way that was not a case at all this tournament I thought that this was a really interesting tournament up and down and as you said some some teams made definite big steps forward and some teams you know who they were who we thought they were and there was a bunch of that uh let's talk about who was your favorite team on this tour I feel like I think performed the best I think it's zenith I think zenith was my favorite team because they just let them have uh for good uh matches you know like you know that that it's like hey all right kota minora just go out there and rustling it's like great I can do that that like that's not the problem I have and and I mean I really enjoyed the afternoon

uh main event zenith and hamar ink mora I thought that that felt like that after camora got his first win like having to take a a high fly flow to lose when when there's been a subtext that yoshi oka's been putting people away with the nail with the rail gun or like the bone maze what his driver that's not the the darkness driver and not pulling out the high fly flow a lot during this tournament but it takes the high fly flow to put out camora who has an arm breaker on minora happening at the same time and I was I thought that that was an incredible match I was for starts flight on it I think maybe the single best bit of wrestling and throughout the tour was the august 24th show with flamita and sangreous tecajuniors versus coach minora and yuki ochi oka and some of the stuff that flamita and yoshi oka were doing together I thought jumped off the screen more than just about anything else now that isn't to say that that was my favorite match of

the tour we'll talk about that because that happened in fuq woka here but I was complaining to you during our komei rotor review about how I felt like this was the most useless tour that flamita that were going on he didn't do anything of note the the almost cheat code of just putting him in natural vibes had finally worn off we had we had cycled through the interesting things of just hey flamita's a natural vibes isn't this great here's a trio match with you T in case he hears a trio match with with Gucci and star machine Jay like the luster of that had worn off and I was really frustrating leaving rokes I thought he might be going home and I just thought we got nothing out of him I don't know sangreous tecajuniors necessarily was everything that I was hoping he would be on this tour but I do think that flamita and yoshi oka on the 24th sort of made up for what otherwise I felt like it'd been a pretty lackluster trip to japan for flamita it reminded me how great yoshi oka can be and it was a real example in what a great wrestler flamita

still can be yeah I was really really excited for as tecka coming in here and not that I think that he was outright bad throughout the tours and all of that but it kind of was until the final matches that I felt like that he that that the team really jelled like I felt like it was kind of rough going for that team up basically you know up until that that shone kune moto then things kind of turned around for them and sadly that was their second to last match of the tournament but by the way it makes sense look he's stepping into a new environment is the most talented roster that he's ever worked with the pacing of it is ever so slightly different than the current a michi doku pro it makes sense that it took him a little bit to find his footing and by the end of the tour I agree I thought he was a very good wrestler having very strong output by the end of the tour on the whole if I was to individually rank the wrestlers in raid a prairie host this year he probably

had the second weakest tour behind leona because even a horror gooshie and kanda pulled off some stuff that I can't believe they pulled off no I I I hear you with that and yeah uh going back to hakata I think the evening show the tyland draw between the original jemis and uh and and jacquiri ta was easily the match of the tournament and probably a top four match of the year for dragon gate this year that's very interesting because that's not my match of the tournament oh was your match of tournament young guys versus kakuta and lee young vibes versus but do kakuta and jason lee my friend that is my match of the tournament take the baton it's everything that makes all of those guys so great it was textbook kakuta it was textbook jason lee as a heel it was aki picking his spot in thriving in those moments and it was the best gooshie performance that we've got on this year

in a year where we've gotten a number of really great gooshie performances but this was the match of the tournament right now as I tab over to my my spreadsheet I would have this as the fourth best dragon gate match this year behind kaisikakuta kamae and reta versus kai torrents asumu from april doyan tenaka and then I would have this four with big boss shimazoo versus ut from the tenth in the fifth spot but this to me was the match of the tournament it was everything that I would have hoped it would be in terms of not only the structure of the match with kuchi and aki just getting their asses kicked at you know kakuta in particular just being so mean but then young vibes picking their spots and each comeback was a little bit more entertaining I love the shoulder tackles from aki I love they they did a poetry and motion meteor to kakuta at one point where aki was on all

fours gooshie jumped off him hit the meteor that was outstanding there's a great giant swing that kakuta does to gooshie and then they they wind up on the floor at this point I'll go ahead and spoil the finish if for some reason you haven't seen it I think this this is as much of a selling point is anything I think you got to know what's coming here which is they go to the floor the heels throughout all these chairs on the ground it looks like we're just going to get a basic chair spot I expect the match to finish up in the ring at this point instead kakuta goes for a last ride on kuchi kuchi counters her con rana into the chairs he tries to get back into the ring to break the jason lee pulls him off of the apron and gets back on jason gets on the apron and aki blows him out of his shoes almost with a football tackle on the apron that takes all four guys down to the floor and at 19 this all happens in rapid succession at 19 they hit the floor and at

19 and a half kuchi rolls back in the ring breaks the count wins the match by count out I set out for I washed it I can't believe that this company for all the bad creative and all the lazy finishes they've had this year had up until osprey versus omega my single favorite match finish of the entire year I thought this was brilliant and I got legitimately more excited about the finish of this match than any other single thing I've seen in dranguette this year and it was like when we talked about like letting the pressure out of kakuta having these kinds of losses for him and the way that they booked the losses for kakuta throughout the tournament was like wanted like the smartsweaks that jason isn't looking bad in this either like jason ends up you know and taking the falls for the team but ends up only taking like two falls throughout the tournament actually with it and and and I have to say with the way that they've booked out the some parts of the blocks I'm kind of puzzled about and the way that we got to this in my final share but it just

was a genius piece of work you know to go all right we don't want kakuta to to be powerful right now so he's going to need to like have no losses but the thing is we don't want to really beat him up here and they found the exact right way throughout the tournament in this finish I think what's the best example of it it was so much more fitting to character to have Gucci win this match by count out then to even do like a flash pin like that's what type movie does it you know this all they it just worked perfectly and this is when coming out of that show coming out of that match it was the most interested and the most invested I had been in this promotion all year I'm not sure of everything after fuq woke and necessarily lived up to this level they were a handful of matches that I thought were a little disappointing and a lot of matches that I thought were just good but not necessarily great but young vibes versus Jason Lee and kakuta from 823 that was on the night show is to me one of the best drank eight matches of the year and the main event of that show not far behind

yeah so original jimmy's versus jacquy Rita time limit draw just going through the motions just essentially in a way being like the the old territory style of the I know we're going to go broadway here and we're going to have the crowd in the palm of our hand the entire way and even though like we talked about kakutora being someone that needs a little bit of the motivation to get the best case of him out there he has like really brought it in this tournament and especially with the work against Rita in this match in jacquy versus the sumo just a way of working through flows and paces throughout it it was a match that could have gone 40 minutes and and in a time limit draw and I felt like that they could have taken us there to it and then you you got to the two minute left call and they were starting to unload the full clips onto everyone you had a garamaka kari converted into a jacquy knife right at the 20 20 minute call and it just I mean for just strong dragon

system lucha rest tag work I feel like it's hard to find a match this year that I would put up there with it just tremendous stuff all throughout I have the gift on my Twitter but come a leaping off of the shoulder of sussumi a kosca to do a hurricane rana off the top road to from kakutora it's just the guys unbelievable yeah no that there were moments like throughout the the this tour that people did things with a level of precision that just did not make sense to me and this was one of them the other one was going into the closing stretch of the main event in Nara well let's talk about that let's because just quickly uh post fuquoka I guess we didn't we didn't have the h-20 one or 2022 or h-22 footage the last time that we talked about that I would recommend

ishin and kato versus sumo and kagator from h-21 I would throw a soft recommendation at ganky and kanda versus ishin and kato from h-22 I would strongly recommend flamita and sangria s takajunia versus binora dioshioka from h-24 and then I would recommend coming and reach a versus ishin and kato from a 30 for me I would second the kagoshima original jimmy versus team to a four I really like young vise versus you know salnova from naga sakki thought it was the most disappointing match the tournament did not click with me really I thought I thought that this was like humaree and sometimes the ways finally kind of showing his babyface wings here and then it and then it kind of turns into kamora trying to throw the submissions and I thought guchi rolling through getting the pen was a really hot

finish hot finish disjointed match I thought I don't think anybody was on the ray game there I thought I thought I was just a bad night for all four guys I think if you threw them in the ring and quarkin for a rematch I think it would be a million times better I I was not into that match I just felt like it never never really fully found its flow and did you you watch from eight 25 jack ureta versus s and jane leona right yes I would I would not say I recommend that I mean I would almost preferously recommend it for the fact that you can see how good of wrestlers jack ureta actually are not a spare I it's a three and a half star match at least in my mind that's all jack ureta and it almost all the match there is no leona and it's very funny that's it's really a two on one match but yeah let's talk about the 30th the last night of block play team two of four versus jack ureta and zena versus cielo monté were the last two matches of the tournament the block B

match was the determine both of them were into the playoffs at that point was determined one and two it was a super t gray reversal from zena getting the win winning the block and then team two of four finally gets their secret heater to do something right as fooda pulls off the cookie sheet attack to both get a team two of four into the playoffs but also to eliminate jack ureta year four teams and the playoffs are zena cielo monté from the b block and then original jemis and team two of four from the a block original jemis when the block team two of fours in second what i find fast and a few different ways we can go here i i want to start with team two of four i'm not sure if they're capable of having a truly great matches a tag team i'm not sure that this tag team is good for either of those guys and yet i enjoyed a lot of their matches on this tour i just feel like they have a very very hard

three and three quarter star ceiling i i think it's fair and i think it's also thinking of like how much this is not a dragon system style tag team two other than the fact that they can work at pace really i mean you essentially have two power wrestlers or essentially a power heavyweight and then a power junior on a team and that's just things outside of you know shingo and cybercong not necessarily long term twingate champions where like it's not the mold that you expect in i and it's kind of difficult with the fact that they've been going up against at least what i would consider that maybe not top five dragon system tag teams of all time but at least of the era like in the last ten years two of the best tag teams consistently and jacquiorita and original jemmings you know i think what's going to happen is i think this team is eventually going to go their separate way and we're going to go in we're going to go wow look at how great kato has been lately wow

look at how great eshen has been lately this tag team is an effective tag team more than it is a good tag team because if i if i go through what they did on this tour you know i they started in quarkin where i thought the voleta and heo match was an effective car crash style of match i went three and three quarters on them versus kato and sui went three and a half on them versus horgoshin kanda i think i went three on them versus leona strong machine j and then i went three and three quarters again on them versus kame and rita but i'm never coming away from a team to a four match i've had this issue the entire year whether it's here or in all japan i'm never blown away by them as a team i think they're having good matches because they're good wrestlers i don't necessarily think they're a good team and i think when eshen and kato both get away from this team we're going to be much more impressed with their output than we currently are even if in theory they've had a good year yeah and i think that that's kind of the sneaky thing

about team two or four and why it exists because kato we we know that with his age and everything that they in his size that he has been kind of positioned in a way that he was going to be destined for the upper cards and he's at right at about the time where that that he should be getting like that first-room gate shot you know like after this with yamato why not run kaze versus kato at a quarkin you know like after this like this this team is to set up the next step for him and then if that relates to finishing off the ceo mess and then make moving on from that too as like a push like this is not the destination for either of these guys and as i look through my ratings for them throughout this tournament i do find myself going like okay they did not have a single four star match for me throughout this tournament i would say but looking through the matches and looking at my notes on the most of my i'm going like okay this was

fine they held up there and it's never a negative necessarily on them throughout the tournament they're just kind of there it feels like they're fulfilling the role and it speaks to some of the issues that this promotion had earlier in the year where we didn't really get a ton for whatever reason i was i was confounded by the booking but kame and rita were the twin gate champions and it didn't feel like they were being featured or presented in coveted spots in the same way that ish and kato war and i think that worked as a detriment for the promotion because ish and kato just don't have the same ceiling as kame and rita then they won the twin gate belts and it seemed like it was going to be a transitional reign to get to yoshio kame and mnora kome world and then that didn't happen and so now that we're done with block play from rita prehoss and we have a semi-final set we'll see the semi finals in the finals on thursday my question to you is having gone through rita prehoss not knowing the winner yet but having gone through the block play yeah do you still think

it would have been what do you think is the is the right move now should mnora and yoshio k have beaten asian and kato kome world or are you okay with the way the things have played out thus far i am okay if only for that this let zena further get their c lex before this and i think that team 204 versus zena as a twin gate match on uh oed award is a really good third match from the top so we think the most likely outcome here is it's sussu mokakata versus siano and monta and yoshio kome nora versus is isian and kato which you know i said before this two are started that i thought siano and monta were going to win this two was we're going to win this tournament i expected this to be a breakout tournament for those guys i would say that they've been a pretty big disappointment

now that they have it been good at times but i just expected way more from them and there were times where i was really let down in their performances and just their lack of an engagement and i still i it's just like monta is just wrestling parallel to the rest of this roster i find his output and his booking to be so incredibly confusing but but i would agree with you i think it'll be siano monta and yoshio kome nora in the finals this is what i predicted two weeks go with the caveat that i was really hoping mathematically they were going to find a way to do kame and reeta versus siano and monta in yoshio kome nora versus isian and kato and then the finals would have been yoshio kome nora versus kame and reeta that's still what i would prefer i do think that if the original jimmy's go to the finals that would be very entertaining i would be okay with that but i do think the clubhouse favorite at this point is siano and monta in yoshio kome and minora which would mean that yoshio kome nora would get the win over eshen kato it would put the series at one to one and

then you would assume that from there zinath wins and we have our twin gate match for tokyo in front of the hektopascal and that is the crowning of yoshio kome nora yeah but i mean that's what i've been expecting since they lost that kome world i mean i i thought that zanth was wanting this tournament the second that they lost the belt at kome world and they were going to run it back here it's it's the most logical booking there could be i mean that that makes sense i have no argument against that i still just think they could have done that at world and this whole tournament could have been i mean they could have booked it to a tee like this and then had eshen and kato beat yoshio kome nora in the semis and then have either siano and monta your kagga torrentes to beat eshen and kato in the finals and then you have the first zinath defense at tokyo infinity and it's a fresher matchup i don't need to see a best of three series between yoshio kome nora and eshen and kato even if i really like the work that yoshio kome and menorah are doing right now yeah no i mean like that is definitely the other hand of it also you could have pushed match three of the series much further down or not

do it at that you know i mean like you could say all right do you want to keep team two of four strong and and i mean they have been the top tag team in this promotion all year and so they should win the tournament that you also have the fact that in that theory and that idea that you could also say okay ciela monta when the tournament you have two viable challengers now for you have two title matches coming up but knowing this motion they would just shove them all three teams in the one match yeah i mean it's the booking of the twin gates i think it's just been uphorn over the last year but go ahead i the the thing that i think is going to happen and i forget who someone mentioned this and i was kind of in the discord like weeks ago and i was kind of like i don't know about this i think that after zinath beats cielo and monta they're going to bite them into zinath make that four what do you think is more likely by this time next month we talk on october first do you think it's more like that cielo and monta are in zinath or that reofudas and zinath

boy i think you're the walens zinath maybe that's the unit i mean that could be the unit i mean i i was very happy to see as i scrolled down the a spora blog post for cork and coming up that we are getting that tristan moody is still in japan seeing that he we didn't get a whole lot of them throughout this tour so and he's facing food on the in the advanced match so who's to say i mean there's a lot of interesting stuff kind of going around in this cork and that you kind of figure i mean that the the fooda aspect cannot be forgotten or handwaves about how he might play into team 204 losing or team of four winning somehow you know so you know as of right now this is the other thing that happened on the naras show is that fooda i would say at least for the time being i think that's the appropriate way to phrase it is now a member of gaja dole grow he's going to

wrestle tristan moody in the dark match on thursday at cork and hall and it is very clear that they are paving the runway for fooda versus tenaka at the fooda homecoming show which used to be gator of origin it is now to hoku dragongate way which is going to be on sunday september 20th fooda challenge for the brave gatebell of that show last year and lost it looks like they're setting him up to be a heel in challenge for the brave gatebell this year j theorize that maybe this would be a way to get the belt off of tenaka on his blue sky account which i i just think would be such a massive mistake for everybody involved i think that would be i i get the sentiment that just feels lame it's obviously not a one-to-one scenario but it would be in the same way that when ring of honor took the world title off of nijol and put it on gary lenn you could look at it and go i understand what they're doing and i still fundamentally think this is wrong

if they put the belt on food and take it off tenaka i would look at that situation and go i understand what they're doing and i still think this is wrong yeah and i just i don't think it's clear that he's a member of gacha docro eeshan is allowing him but uh kato didn't seem super pleased and he hasn't really interacted with kakuto liar kai it feels like eeshan has him as like his little lackey or he's approved of him in that fashion and i i think based on the cork and show last month where fooda stole the pen from manora and and whatever that was matched to to me that felt like it was gonna pave the way to get fooda into this story to make it seem like he was going into gacha docro but the shwarf here is going to be that he's going to be in zenith because they're going to need a fall post they're going to need more guys even if you throw montane cello in that group which i'm all for even if you throw montane cello in that group you still need a lost post at that point and as odd as it might be re-a fooda being the fifth guy in a unit of five people

is a much more avantageous position for him to be in then re-a fooda as he's been for the five years that he's been on the roster with no unit of affiliation no no direction yeah i mean it's very similar to like katoka getting put into world one as like the assistant at the at the like they and and it just gave him something to do and i give him a little bit more of a cache because i mean he essentially other than i mean bang bang paro he's he's been the bottom guy and passed up by kimura he's been passed up by akian gougi he's been passed up by virtually i mean i mean he's been passed by by his classmates it he just needs the ability at this and the fact that they're doing something with him i know that there is the fact that it's sendi coming up and how they've always kind of made it careful to have him in an important place whenever they run some fast stuff but it just one losing the greatest breakate title and i mean he's he's after 13 he could go for the most

defenses for tenaka though that having then defense 14 be the loss feels kind of bad because i feel like you're so close to shima's 15 key dream gate run oh but most defenses for any title right yes and i mean he's still far far away from shima's dream gate day rain with that one but like man maybe i'm just trying to find new win mills for tenaka to tilt that but like i just hate the idea of the title going to fuda with him and godja doggar i'd be so much happier with him ending up being that fifth fall a lost post in uh zena yeah i i see this being something that has played out through the month where he's challenging as a heal for the brave gate belt and i think by the end of that show however they want to get to it it ends up with he with him and zena and i always bring this up it's not the first time i've done this but you think about kazuma kimura on this raday prairie house tour how exciting he was how explosive he was

mike how agile he is like i don't mean so cool he's so cool that's he's so cool you're exactly right think about what he's done in the year that he's been on the roster i will now read you the card for rea food his debut show opening match opening match kai and espicento versus jacke funky kame in ut match number two debut kagatora defeats to kuma food chawara dragon kid shujikondo and ulti po dragon defeat gamma ganky horgushian kaze bb whole defeats to kumi hiya kawa in one of his first ever matches mochi zuki versus fuda and then your last three matches dragon dia jason lee coach manora lost ray and shun skywalker versus dia and ferno di amante atahyo and kaito ishita noruki doi and takashi oshita winning the twin gates from king shimazoo and susumi kosuko all time underrated and misused tag team and then your dreamgate match was an ice cold bin ke challenging a

pretty cold yomato and a twenty eight minute dreamgate match yeah that was clap crowd that was clap crowd that was november of twenty twenty one get it it's an awesome show it is it is really like i remember watching it live yeah because it was you know i alan was raiding about kai gotor versus fujawara we all really liked hulk versus hiya kawa and hulk and i lost my mind over mochi zuki versus fuda and i never would have imagined that five years later fuda would basically be in the same position but masquerade versus rred to kashio shita's dreamgate charis twin gate champion gammas on the show as we can't those on the show this was another lifetime ago doing seven eighty seven and send i by the way in in fuda i mean he's got they got to do something with him yeah no i mean jeez at least we have one way or another he's getting with nimochi zuki's he's got to spread his wings one way or another and i think him being in a trio were he's able to do

some fast paced trios matches with mandora no shioka or even with c yellow and monta i i think he'll fit in i've never been worried about food as tall there are times where i've waned a little bit i've lost a little bit of faith in him over the years as anybody would the argument with food has never been the talent it's either staying healthy or it's crowd connection or it's his inability to have great matches outside of either with masaki mochi zuki or mochi zuki jr this is this is going to be his chance and we're going to learn a lot about ria fuda in what the next five years of his career could look like this month yeah no uh definitely will be a person to keep your eye on in thursday to see at least him as ecians minion slash part member of godja doggro how that will play out on thursday should we break down the remainder of this uh koe i'm sorry korkin hall show yeah do you want me to break down this car real quick yep go ahead opening match rade perra has 2026 semi finals again this is kagatore tsumi yakoska first place in the a block versus lc

element luiz monta second place in the b block match number two it is your b block winners of coach manora and yuki osuoka versus your aivlok runner ups eshin and yoshiki kato after that match number three ultimate dragon masaki mochi zuki and jiro shimbashi versus don Fuji toro washi and punch tamanaga match number four gankihara guchi kaneechura rai and yosushi kanda versus kai jason lia madoka kakuta yamato 20th anniversary match i got to pull up the dragon gate english twitter account to make sure that i get this wrestler's name right uh his 20th anniversary match is going to be against he de takamon ma yes he'da taki mon ma who will get to in just a second and then after that it is a ten man tag of jaki kame rita mochi zuki jr jianni mon mion valeta and heo against natural vibes kazie strong machine jute guchi and they have aki on this show so aki aki already returning from injury which is nice to see semi made event tenaka homara and kamora versus

dragon kid bibi hulk and the ruku doi main event you are ray de prae house finals it's interesting show i mean that they've managed to carry on the jani and heo storyline within that ten man and will kind of you could blow up the storyline or have them join uh love and peace at this point i mean we'll see one way or another with that uh i i love the fact that they are doing a semi main event of at least i'm looking at the goar site this might not be the actual rundown but that they have uh zeno salnova versus not hulk i feel like this is my man yeah lay him to go out there and give them 15 minutes i think it probably won't be 15 minutes since the eight match out giving them 10 minutes will be a lot of fun the undercard stuff i mean though the one thing i can say is they finally got jiroshin boshin tag matches which is something i feel like i've been calling for all year and that's something that i mean it's it's the touch football match but at least it's giving him something more

to do than jesus standard as seamless matches it looks like we are going to get the old guys challenging for the triangle gate belts at hektopascal which is interesting that'll be drank anything we'll be able to get away with that because you've got your motto going for the dream gate belt and you've got dragon kid going for the brave gate belt they can make a show line story out of it with the old guys going for the triangle gate belts and i would assume that they'll lose all three of those matches admittedly the idea of kondo horuguchi and arcan challenging for those belts of 2026 is not exciting in the least i mean i need to arrive versus reeta get it get in for it man nah i just you know i just want to watch love and peace have good matches and they're not gonna be good it's no but it's you know it might be good but it's not it's not going to be good in the way that i want it to be good it's not going to be good in the way that the kobe world match was it it's maddening to think that this is now the second time this year

that kame and reeta have had titles and we're we're just gonna get nothing out of it again i don't know how that's possible yeah i i i just think reo cito hates them i i agree i mean at this point that's the only thing that can make any sense is that reo cito thinks that they're geeks i agree i don't get it i i think they're good for the company i think they push wrestling forward i would want to feature them as much as humanly possible it's just not in the cards right now so i i think that'll set up you know horgucci con and arcan was at a patrango gate challenge for one side and a uha nation match for the other side i mean i would much prefer strong machine je flamita and uti challenge for those belts which maybe they'll set up with that love and peace six uh ten man but i i have i have no face that'll be the match yeah i i mean that would be a way out of it uh for uha do you think it's just gonna be a singles with kakura we haven't really talked about this on

our off uh i i don't know who he would team with you know you don't wait okay you know fault false alarm you know what i think they'll do is i think they'll probably do uh uha ganky and kanda uh against kakuta kai and jason okay and then you have the at that natural vibe seem versus love and peace and i don't even say this be funny i think there's a legitimate chance that because love and peace of the triangle gate champions that they just don't have a triangle gate match on that show i think that's a real that's an honest to god possibility that you can't ignore i don't see them doing an uha singles match i would be very surprised if they did that yeah especially since this is gonna be a one-off i don't know what the single doing a singles match would really accomplish and you're gonna have eshin and kato busy and so that that leaves those three guys i mean look i would prefer if it were uha mochi and fuji or if it were uha and two younger guys that he doesn't have history with but i don't think that's the direction they're gonna go but i do think it's gonna be uha

into old guys against jason and kai and kakuta which i think will be interesting i i'm okay with that yeah i mean i think that uh jason versus uha will be very fun i think kakuta versus uha will be very fun i'm i'm okay with that i'm on board with that yeah i think you sold me on that and then again i just you know loving peace i can't guarantee them a title match on that show i just i can do it yeah yeah yeah no it's it's not a certainty and hey before i since i'm now looking at the gay or schedules that are out right now uh did you forget like i did that she goes coming in for your motto's homecoming show uh this Saturday i did not forget but it's not gonna make the the show's not airing on the network i don't know if they'll put the shingo match up later but it's not on the network and punches on the match so i don't care about it yeah no i mean that's that's entirely fair about that what did that be more fun sorry sorry to catch you off here it wouldn't be more fun if it was uha hamara and kimura versus jason kai and kakuta don't you think that would

benefit everybody more oh that would that would rock because tannock is in a single spec they're gonna have to find something for those guys to do wouldn't you want to put them with uha yeah no i think that that would be like the a good look for them and especially for someone like kimura that i mean he wasn't a title match on this show last year like keeping him in a level of importance i know he's from chipa so it's not necessary like hometown for him but yeah no i'm with you on that that would be interesting well i think he's gonna take him with ginky horgo shaped because it's 2026 and that's just what we do now yeah we just can't have nice things case but we did have a nice tag league we did i loved right a prairie house i enjoyed it greatly i will have an updated list of my full tournament recommendations after the semi finals in the finals i'll be watching this show live and uninterrupted which i'm quite excited about and although the undercard does look very very rough i am i am very bashful on the idea of yet again another great rade perry

house final so i hope we get that this year yeah you know i think that there's gonna be some interesting things on this show i mean the last like table setting for uh uh oed award of course and you know there's a part of me that's kind of excited about jay's history lesson he's gonna do about this random karate guy that Yamato is wrestling against yeah do you know anything about him he only what jay posted that he was a trainer at the gym that uh that there's this i'm gonna try not to butcher this name uh what you to kushin kai hearts the hearts part of it is where uh Yamato trained at when he had his amateur mmae days before he joined dragon gate i think this guy was one of his trainers at that and they as jay posted on blue sky they had a promise to do a wrestling match one day i i look forward to it it could it could be great it could be absolute dog shit i have no feel for it i'm excited to figure out what that's gonna look like yeah no no it's just the whole world of possibility with that one that i think would be

really kind of interesting with it but it's it's it's a quark and hall show that i feel like that they're coming in with a level of momentum i don't think it's time for us to do our uh ratings of the saviour promotion at this point maybe we do that after od award but it's going to be an interesting September for the promotion it's it's uh this quarkin uh od award the next week on the twelfth and uh sendai on the 20th and koe so it's a little bit lighter uh footage wise they're going to be touring a whole bunch during that though but uh it it's an interesting way that they're kind of moving into fall this year and especially with that first big show coming up after koe world on the twelfth it's going to be interesting to kind of see like the i don't know if it's going to be a referendum of kaisi as champion at this point but it'll be interesting to see at least what the state of the company is for his first title match in eleven days you know i think i think no matter what i think it's far too early to have an opinion on kaisi only because this tour wasn't

about him at all i i didn't i mainly just watched the tournament stuff from this tour i did not pay attention a lot of the amount of kaisi stuff this this quarkin show because i enjoyed rete perre haas is putting me in the same state that i was in before koe world where there's a lot of weight on this show where if they hit a home run at quarkin and i get excited for hektopascal all of a sudden i could i could i could be back in unapologetically there was a chance there's a real chance with this card on paper to this quarkin is a disaster that i'm in a bad mood when we preview hektopascal next week and that that show sucks and that rete perre haas was just a blip on the radar for what is otherwise a miserable 2026 and it feels like the stakes are that high for this quarkin show yeah it's a real interesting time in dragon gaden we'll be back with you on twosay to talk about thursday's quarkin and do the preview for uh tokyo infinity hektopascal coming up next saturday

case was there anything else you want to touch on before we get out of here i don't think so all right you can follow us on social media at open voicegate both on twitter and blue sky if you like to follow case on twitter he's at undersport in your case don't ask him about eddie kinkson but i do not know like he got a you he did everything right in the first five minutes it was on it was you know it wasn't his fault that he had another shitty performance at a big spot like he's done his entire career look at the punches he threw at the first two minutes he did everything right that the punches and the great five minutes that were so great that they didn't even make television just just ignore him blowing spots and getting boot out of the building if you ignore that he did fine think about how bad of a match must be for televisa not to put on the main event of a friday arena mexico show well as as you know want to steam credit pointed out he's good well think about how bad the match could have been which uh is how i will be reviewing every shun skywalker house of torture badges could have been worse you know what anyone

what he wanted to say case as someone who cares for you have that mindset have that mindset oh i will as you as you know this is uh you know reviewing wrestling is nothing more than a tribalistic war where my style of wrestling has to win at all times and although i will preach having an open mind i will be the most narrow-minded reviewer possible with incredibly thin skin i am i am the type of guy that is more than happy to sub-tweet dave meltser all day but if somebody dare questions my opinion that i will talk about how mean everybody is and how this community is a storm cloud and how we should just enjoy things because that is what being a critic is is being honest a little guy your opinion i'm just a little guy why are you picking on me i'm just a little guy who can't stand by his opinion when question once by somebody that is willing to engage with all of that bullshit that is of course i'm talking about me of course uh and so i look forward to because shun skywalker represents a style of

wrestling that i like and that i think is superior i look forward to not necessarily changing my opinion on him but moving the goalpost so that my opinion is always right and so when shun has a bunch of bad matches in house of torture they actually won't be bad matches because they could have been way worse and that is something to think about with shun skywalker and house of torture and uh in the era of crippled eddy kinkston that we're living in which let's be honest before the knee injury it's not like he was uh fucking red bastard you know this is now we just have to move the goalpost we have to move the goalpost what other names you have that you were gonna throw out there because red by seeing got me oh i just it's just it's so it's just the thing that i'll go in a second the thing that fucking gets me from i don't even want to pick on mat directly let's just say let's just there's

a vocal eddy kinkston fan base and typically when you're a vocal eddy kinkston fan it implies that you don't like a style of wrestling say that was represented in the all out made of that or the all in made of that if Kenny omega or will osprey would have been booed out of the building in orey to mexico the take from that camp would have been they clearly went in with a scripted match and it's the job of of a wrestler to adapt in the moment to listen to the fans and to do what they're asking for and when eddy kinkston is in that environment and this is what got i don't care about eddy kinkston have a bad match i've reviewed a hundred of them people forget that during the indie boom i was reviewing every a w show which oftentimes featured horrendous eddy kinkston matches i've done my part of reviewing eddy kinkston wrestling with no way i just had i was just in the i was just hanging out with dr. Keith and we had a very fun memory lane of the good and the bad of a w in that era but you know if it was osprey or omega in that position it would have been they

scripted this match they didn't listen to the crowd they were so worried about getting their spots in with the z that they weren't adapting to what they should have it with kinkston it's i he's a martyr he should have never been put in this position what more could you want from him he did everything that he could oh fuck off it was just so predictable that's what got me i it's not the specific eddy kinkston match i knew he was gonna suck in that spot i mean he's not talented enough he's not a majorly caliber wrestler anymore we're lucky that the best work of eddy kinkston's career just so happened to be on national tv for about 18 months we were blessed with that because most of his career has been horrendous it has been awfully they bad pro wrestler more than he's a good pro wrestler of course he was gonna suck in that spot i don't care about that i care about i saw the response coming from a mile away and it was calculated and it was i roll inducing and i am having a real hard time taking some of those people seriously as critics no matter how many

fucking paragraphs they write that ultimately say nothing god forbid somebody edits that slop it was just so predictable that that was going to be the response well yeah he did his bet okay all right i'll i'll remember that going forward isn't it so obvious that was gonna happen to drum me nuts no it it's one of those things that as someone who has witnessed eddy's entire career in the moment it was always going in like this like it wasn't surprised by the match in the slightest through that was going to be the match it was just the problem was that i also wasn't surprised by the the the lack of critiques or the lack of what i feel to be genuine analysis from others that that that's what bug me i i i knew the match was gonna suck that was not surprised no i i hear you on that but buddy i think that's it for us this week sorry to eddy to riley right i was not that in i kind of forgot about it hey hey hey now you have it out of your system you know you can go to bed and you don't have to think about uh well well how good those five minutes were before he completely shit the bed oh yeah no those punches i'll never forget those yeah those punches that were so great

that they still didn't find a way to put them on television anyways i'm at Fuji hea on twitter we'll be back with you next Tuesday take care everyone hi i'm Andrew rich and if you're like me you look at the state of modern wrestling discourse and think wow what a cesspool that's why i'm here to tell you about music of the mat remix that's right your favorite wrestling music podcast is back with a new format where i bring on a guest and we play songs related to wrestling themed topics it could be a wrestling reference a wrestling concept a wrestling pun things of that nature now you might be saying Andrew that is a very very tenuous connection to pro wrestling on a wrestling podcast network is this just an excuse to hang out with your friends and talk about music and ignore the rest of the wrestling landscape yes yes it is so listen to music of the mat remix on the voices of wrestling podcast network available on apple spotify or your podcast player
