Ford kondigde in 2021 aan vanaf 2030 enkel nog elektrische auto’s te willen verkopen, maar die doelstelling blijkt te ambitieus vanwege tegenvallende marktomstandigheden. Als er na 2030 vraag is naar bijvoorbeeld plug-in hybrides, dan wil Ford dat aanbieden. Steeds meer automerken zeggen langer door te gaan met de verkoop van brandstofauto's.
