Ole Miss Rebels Dominate Gonzaga in NCAA Tournament

0:00On March 21st, the 5th seeded Ole Miss Rebels' women's basketball teams stayed alive in the NCAA tournament with an 81-66 win over. Gonzaga in the first round on Friday. They dominated much of the game, pulling ahead by as many as 33 points, while four players had double figures in scoring. Cody McMahon made history with her 33rd double-digit scoring game this season, passing an Ole Miss record from the late 1970s. McMahon shipped in 13 points along with rebounds, assists, a block, and a steal, saying the strong start sets them up well moving forward. Coach Yolette McFee McEwan praised the team's disruption on defense and celebrated the return of forward C-Rathino, who boosted their depth. Ole Miss, now 24 wins and 11 losses, advances to face Minnesota in the round of 32 on Sunday at 1 p.m. Central Time. A win there since the Rebels to the sweet 16 in Sacramento as the tournament pushes deeper into March Madness.
