Oklahoma Women's Basketball Hosts NCAA Tournament

0:00On March 16th, Oklahoma women's basketball is set to host the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season and the third time in five years under. Coach Jenny Baronsik, the sooners earned a four-seed and will face 13-seed Idaho in the first round on Friday, right here in Norman, they'll also welcome a five-seed Michigan State and 12-seed Colorado State to town for early games. This marks Oklahoma's 26 tournament appearance overall. Things are buzzing after last year's run when the sooners grabbed a three-seed and made the sweet 16 for the first time since 2013. They even handed top-seed South Carolina a tough overtime loss earlier this season and now that powerhouse stands between them and the Elite 8. If Oklahoma advances past the early rounds, they'll head to the Sacramento Regional from March 27th through 30th. The team had hoped for the closer Fort Worth site just three hours away in Texas.
