Oklahoma Women's Basketball Dominates Idaho

0:00On March 21st, the Oklahoma Women's Basketball team made quick work of Idaho in the first round of the NCAA tournament, winning 89-2, 59 at the Lloyd Noble Center. The fourth-seated Sooners controlled the game wire-to-wire, and now advanced to face fifth-seated Michigan State in the second round on Sunday. From the opening tip, Oklahoma built a big half-time lead of 57-35. They ported on in the third quarter, outscoring the vandals 19-3, and putting the game out of reach early. Veterans carried the load with Senior Center Regan Beers posting 18 points in 10 rebounds, Junior Sahara Williams adding 17 points and 10 boards, and Senior Guard Peyton Verholst shipping in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman Alia Chavez, shown with 15 points, while Sophomore's the Avan added 8. The Sooners owned the paint and the glass, outscoring Idaho 38-14 inside, and grabbing 54 rebounds to the vandals.
