Dallas Stars' goalie, Jake Oedinger, brought some Olympic magic to kids from Hope Kids this week. He surprised them at an Amazon fulfillment center in Great Buying Texas, letting each one try on his gold medal from the Winter Games in Milano, Cortina. Hope Kids supports children with life-threatening conditions and their families through special experiences. Oedinger started his Jake's Hope Crew program during the 2022-2023 season. It invites these kids and families to Stars Games. On Monday, the group was all decked out in Stars' jerseys, cheering wildly when he walked in, wearing the shiny medal. The visit turned into a mini-metal ceremony for everyone, making each child feel like a champion. Oedinger said it was a blast, seeing their excitement, and noted how the families have become like his own over the years. Seeing USA grab gold on February 22nd, beating Canada 2-1 in overtime, it marked their
first win since 1980. Oedinger shared that hanging out with these incredible kids always brightens his day, and the Dallas Stars Foundation posted videos capturing the joyful moments.
