NSW Seeks Western Sydney Film Studio for Screen Boom

Meanwhile, Queensland took the top spot with $925 million, up 16%. Film industry voices say the single main studio at Moore Park is overrun by Hollywood blockbusters, leaving no room for local TV shows and mid-budget projects. Directors have turned to makeshift spots like warehouses near train lines and airports. The government named three potential Western Sydney locations, Bungeraby, Eastern Creek and Prospect. They just scrap the old rule limiting sites to within 35 kilometers of the city center to open up more options. Leaders hope the new studio will balance big international work with homegrown stories, ensuring steady jobs for writers, directors and crews across the board.
