The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating why in Amazon cargo planes skid it off a runway at Miami International Airport and struck several vehicles on Sunday. At least five people were killed and several others were injured. Mary Skiavo is a former Inspector General at the Transportation Department. She tells NPR that the weather may have played a part in the crash. This aircraft had come through some weather. There was really ominous looking weather as you see this video off the end of the runway. But we also, when you look at radar that's publicly available about the airspeed and the rated of sand, it was coming in fast. It was descending rather quickly. It was not what's called a stabilized approach. The plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it overran the runway and caught fire. 1:02Trump is promising to put his Super PACs massive war chest to work for GOP candidates. NPR's Mara Liason reports on where that money could go and how much difference it could make with election day less than two months away. Trump's Super PAC MAGA Inc has been sitting on more than $400 million in cash and the president is finally beginning to spend it. I think I have like a close to a billion dollars in the Super PAC and I'm allocating probably $400 million. I'll be spending. We'll be spending. We'll be spending. Yeah, we're going to spend a lot of money because we don't want to lose our country. MAGA Inc made a $10 million ad buy to support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton who's running for Senate. Overall, Republican Super PACs and campaign committees have much more money than their Democratic counterparts. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is heading to South America this week as the Trump administration

The State Department says Rubio will travel to Columbia, Ecuador and Peru to talk about enhanced cooperation in the fight against what it calls Narco Terrorism. The Trump administration has killed at least 227 people in the past year in strikes on what it alleges are drug boats in the Caribbean and the Pacific. Critics say these strikes are illegal and have not had an impact on the drug trade, but Rubio may not face much pushback on this trip as new right wing governments promise to work with the Trump administration.
