Federal aviation investigators are on the scene in Miami after an Amazon cargo plane crashed at the Miami International Airport yesterday, killing five people, leaving at least five others injured. The plane overshot the runway during landing and slammed into multiple vehicles. NPR Shandalee's Duster has the latest. Experts say investigators will likely look into several factors, such as possible mechanical failure, flight crew performance, or weather conditions. Videos posted on social media of the landing show the cargo plane landed hard and fast midway down the runway. So we can expect investigators to be looking into what caused that landing. There were also thunderstorms and winds in the area at the time, but it's unclear whether that played a role in the crash. NPR Shandalee's Duster. A Trump Act super PAC has begun spending money in the toss-up Texas U.S. Senate race. MAGA Inc. has hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, and PR Stephen Fowler reports.

But over the summer, the question shifted from where they would spend it to if they would spend at all. Over the weekend, the super PAC disclosed its first spending, $10 million in Texas. That money is split between ads supporting Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxson and opposing Democrat James Tolerico, who has largely had the airwaves to himself for much of the summer in the tightly contested race. The Trump administration has filed a third emergency request for the U.S. Supreme Court to clear the way to empower the U.S. Postal Service to restrict mail-in voting under the Trump plan. The Postal Service would refuse to deliver mail-in ballots to voters in states where election officials do not turn over voter lists and do not have certain barcodes on their ballot envelopes. Researchers estimate that thousands of genetic variants help shape personality. NPR's Katie Riddell reports on a recent study published in The Journal Nature. Psychologists frequently describe personality using five broad dimensions. Openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and eroticism. A new study identified more than 1,000 genetic markers associated with these traits and suggests that thousands more may contribute a very small effect. Elliott Tucker-Drab is a psychology professor at the University of Texas at Austin and one of the study's leaders. If we were to focus on one and anyone that we focus on would have a very small effect by itself, it's really the effects that work in aggregate that matter. Genetics is only one influence on whether someone is relatively introverted or extroverted, for example, environment, culture, and life experiences also help shape personality.
