0:00Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Wilman. At least five people are dead after an Amazon cargo plane over ran a runway at Miami International Airport's Sunday and hit several cars. Flights were paused as fire crews worked on the blaze caused by the accident. Flights have now resumed, but Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cuddera Stotz says the investigation is just getting underway. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office homicide bureau will be the lead agency in charge of the death investigation portion alongside our local and federal partners as we all have different parts of our investigation to conclude. The plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when the accident took place. President Trump's Super PAC is finally waiting into the midterm elections to support Republican candidates. NPR's Mar-Alyasant has our reports. Trump's Super PAC MAGA Inc. has been sitting on more than $400 million in cash, and the president is finally beginning to spend it. I think I have like a close to a billion dollars in the Super PAC, and I'm allocating

1:02probably four or five hundred million dollars, so I'll be spending. We'll be spending. Yeah, we're going to spend a lot of money because we don't want to lose our country. MAGA Inc. made a $10 million ad buy to support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who's running for Senate. Overall, Republican Super PACs and campaign committees have much more money than their Democratic counterparts, but in many cases, specific Republican candidates have raised less money than their Democratic opponents. That's true for Paxton, whose campaign cash is trailing the amount raised by his Democratic opponent, James Talleriko. Mar-Alyasant NPR News Israel has escalated attacks in South Lebanon, destroying a hospital and killing two young women in an attack on a house. The Lebanese Health Ministry says a total of at least four people have been killed, and more than 20 others wounded. And Paris-Denaraph has more from Beiruts. Lebanon's Health Ministry says Israeli attacks Sunday completely destroy the Randoor Hospital and the town of Nabiti al-Falka.

2:04The hospital had previously been forced to shut due to fighting in the area, where Israeli forces have entered Lebanon to fight the Iran-backed militant group, Hezbollah. In the village of Arab Saleem, a municipality official tells NPR that two young women were killed Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on their home. The Israeli military said it was targeting Hezbollah after the group fired drones towards its soldiers this week. Jaina Raf and Pairnews Beirut The Far-Right Alternative for Germany Party pes won a regional election in the eastern state of Saxony and Holt, but it did not win a majority of votes that would allow it to form a new government on its own. The AFD had hoped to form the country's first Far-Right State government since World War II, the Christian Democratic Union which currently leads the state fell far behind the AFD in votes. 3:05For talks with President Vladimir Zelensky afterward, they said the discussions were encouraging. Zelensky said the talks covered air defense and security guarantees. The Ebola outbreak is still spreading fast across an area larger than France in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but as NPR's Jonathan Lambert reports, there are signs that the virus is receding from early hot spots. The city of Mungwalu was one of the first places to report Ebola cases in May. The mining town in northeastern DRC soon became overwhelmed. But in recent weeks, cases have been on the decline there. Balakonday, a public health specialist with IFRC, credits that in part to engaging the community in the response. When he first came to Mungwalu, people were distrustful. For them, it's not acceptable to talk about Ebola. Ebola is not true, etc. But health officials started engaging with key community members, like priests and taxi drivers, to get the message out that Ebola is serious. Over time, he says those efforts resulted in more people seeking treatment or isolating if they were sick.

For a six-week-an-arrow, Spider-Man brand new day came in first this weekend in North American movie theaters bringing in $18 million. It's only the second movie this decade to achieve that landmark. Christopher Nolan's Odyssey remained in second with a $13 million haul. Both blockbusters have helped Hollywood to enjoy its best summer since before the pandemic.
