Nottinghamshire's New Skate Park Opens This Saturday

0:00On April 7th, Nottingham Shire just dropped a fresh skate park and staple for it on pasture road, and it's officially opening this Saturday with a full day, a free fun. Costing 236,000 pounds, it got funded by a 100,000 pound grant from the FCC Community Action Fund, plus, Stableford Towns Fun Cash and a crowdfunding push matched by Sport England. This spot's been open for riders since December, stepping in after the old Hickings Lane Park shut down back in 2022, ending years of local push for a replacement. Over two years, Brock's Toe Burrow Council ran deep consultations for in-person events, two online surveys, and user group meets, pulling in more than 300 skateboarders, BMXers, and roller skaters to shape the final design. Saturday kicks off with free coaching sessions, workshops, and formal comps aimed at female skaters, and open jams for everyone from skateboarders to quad and in-line rova skaters
