Nottingham's Electric Bus Fleet Hits 5M KM Milestone

0:00On April 20th, Nottingham City Transport just crossed a huge milestone. Their electric bus fleet has now traveled over 5 million kilometers. This comes two years after the first ones hit the roads in April 2024 and by December 2025, all 62 single-deck buses were fully electric and running. They wrapped up the rollout with lines 53 and 54, switching to electric, covering spots like Arnold, City Hospital, the Ring Road, QMC, and Clifton. The whole project teamed up with Nottingham City Council, grabbing 12.3 million pounds from the government's zero emissions bus regional, Area Scheme, plus 17.7 million pounds straight from NCT. Riders love seeing these buses everywhere now. They cut down emissions, clean up the air, and give smoother, quieter trips that feel like the future. It's all pushing Nottingham tour that carbon neutral goal we all want. Looking ahead, NCT's wrapping up with 19 new electric double-deckers on order.
