Hopefully just out a couple of weeks, according to Glenn Goldson, and Rope Hince's injury that has kept him out. There's no indication of what it is still. We know he will not require surgery and he will hopefully be back before the playoffs. So all things positive for the stars. Yeah, that was probably the most positive thing of the day yesterday. I love watching the game last night. It was nice to see J. Gotinger kind of back on his game as he was against Vegas last night. He had some phenomenal saves last night in that game. But the injury news to me, I took that to be a very positive step, especially after, you know,

3:02there was so much consternation over the weekend and understand we saw about Rope to hear that he's not going to need surgery. I think, I mean, I would think, improves the chances that he's going to be back prior to the playoffs. And which is definitely something the stars were hoping for. And the Rope news is good too, that he's already back skating. Glenn Goldson said, you know, like you said, two, two to two and a half weeks when they expect him back. But hopefully that's as you are familiar with in the restaurant industry as am I, you know, maybe over promise or over deliver or what's under promise over deliver kind of thing. Yeah. And I think it is also a good sign that I believe he was ahead of schedule when he was training to skate because I believe it was just early last week that they said to be seven to ten days and he's already starting to skate. 4:02Darryl Ray will pick his brain on the recent upswing in stars play because they have still been red hot. Yeah, I mean, they're still fighting through it with despite all the injuries basically basically being down a line in the forward at the forward spot. They have still persevered in, you know, they're nine, uh, 901 and their last 10. Thank you to the Edmonton Oilers for helping the stars a little bit last night. Knocking off Colorado, uh, the stars. At least, you know, you're right. There are only five points back in the Avalanche but there's still three points ahead of the wild and they actually have a game in hand over the wild down the stretch here. So overall good news from the stars last night but they're scheduled over the next few weeks even on this homestand. It is, it is stacked with quality teams. On the opposite side for our local teams, the Mavs continue their ethical tanking. Unfortunately, they pick up their eighth straight loss. They now have lost streaks of eight and 10 games on the year. They fall to the Hawks 124, 12.

5:04It was at least competitive. Uh, they did tie the score at 97 at one point before the Hawks eventually pull away. And the Hawks by the way, they have the longest active winning streak in the NBA at seven games. So they're trending upwards. They're 34 and 31 on the year Cooper flag 14 points, 12 rebounds, double, double, you get 21 from Clay Thompson and you lose, but you're competitive and nobody gets hurt. So kind of the best case scenario if you're a fan of the Mavs, right? Obviously the players want to win. Nobody wants to see an eight game losing streak but for everybody going just another percentage point towards the lottery point. We'll take it. Yeah, and it was nice to see the fight last night because they did fall behind. And, you know, they were down almost 20 points early in the third quarter before they started their comeback. And it was really nice to see them crawl all the way back and get to the, you know, tie up the game in the ladder stages of the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, before they ended up losing,

6:04I still would like to see a couple some wins here and there just for some success. Cooper last night. Again, inefficient offensively. He, you know, he, he had the double, double, which is nice, but he was only six of 16 from the floor. He's still trying to kind of find his rhythm offensively since coming back from the foot injury. Nice to see Clay Thompson get it going from three point range and Mavirks. That's got to be frustrating for them. They actually shot the three pretty well last night and still lost the game. They went 13 to 42 as a team and that's been their biggest issue. But, you know, the other guy that I've been kind of impressed with since he came over and, you know, as a guy that I, and I don't think he figures into the maps plans long term. I doubt at least. Chris Middleton has really been a positive influence on the court and I think in the locker room with this team. You know, he came out of Texas A&M. He's kind of come back home here with this deal and he surprisingly decided he wanted to stay

7:06with the Mavirks and not take a buyout over the last couple of weeks when he could have. And I really like what he has been providing the Mavirks here since he got, since he arrived. Yeah, just a veteran presence and somebody that can actually be a veteran on the floor. Because you do have Kyrie as kind of a teaching or teacher that can guide these young players. But Chris Middleton actually being on the floor helps a lot. And Dallas with that eighth straight loss dropping to 24th out of 13 league. You know, just one game ahead of Utah for 26. Yeah, it's going to be interesting down the stretch just to see, you know, I mean, everybody's in tank mode in that part of the standings. You know, they have the same amount of wins as New Orleans. And they're, and like you said, only one more win than Utah. Can the Mavirks find a way to know a lot of fans feel this way? Can the Mavirks find a way to out tank New Orleans and Utah and get in that top five elsewhere in the NBA as we continue midweek digest with Ryan Baldwin, Kevin Landrum, Jacob Determore. The Heats take down the Wizards 150-129.

8:09But the story of the game is BAM out of bio who averages 16 points per game for his career. Scoring 83 beating out Kobe Bryant's 81 in 2006 for second most points in the game. Of course, I don't think anybody is everyone to break 100 from Wilts Chamberlain. But I have a problem with how this was done. I think this was one of, if not the most unethical scoring marks we've ever seen in the NBA because he did have 62 through three quarters. Remarkable. It was, that was a fantastic showing. 31 in the first quarter. Incredible. The Heat are intentionally fouling the Wizards up by 25 late in the game to give BAM out of bio more possessions. BAM out of bio finishes with NBA records of 43 free throw attempts and making 36 of them. And for comparison, Kobe Bryant 18 of 20 from the free throw. And I understand that yes,

9:10Kobe took like the last 17 shots in his game. He did. But they were also trailing until like seven minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. And it's Kobe Bryant. Yeah, that was the guy who you expect to lead the team in scoring and to get you a win. Not BAM out of bio who averages 16 points per game. And also the Wizards are like triple teaming and sending BAM to the free throw line constantly. It was almost like a, if we're putting on 10 foil hats, it's almost like the coaches kind of looked at each other and said, hey, we can, we can make this happen. Yeah, the Wizards are just awful. They are flat out awful. They're one of the two worst teams in the NBA probably. And they were bad last night. Now anytime this needs to be said, when you see somebody in a 48 minute NBA game, put up that many points against another NBA team. I don't care who it is. It's incredible. I mean, just getting to the, getting close enough to where the heat

10:12or trying to find ways to get him past the Kobe Bryant 81. Just tells you how incredible the night he had. He hits seven threes also in the game. And he's not a three point shooter. I mean, he was seven of 22. But he still hit seven of them. It was an incredible performance for him to get there to begin with. But yes, down the stretch, you kind of got to go, eh, what are we doing here? If we are fouling intentionally, just to get more possessions to get bam over that mark. It really was questionable. But at the same time, Washington could have done a better job of preventing him. And they, they were trying and just failing with inept defense and constantly fouling him to put him on the line. No doubt. But the, it was really the intentional fouling up 25 to gain the extra possessions that I had an issue with. But I don't see them putting an asterisk in the non record book, because it's not technically a record. The top three book for the NBA and this one.

11:12And as we wrap up, we can digest. I wanted to mention this real quick. We all aware that the US had not clinched a spot in the World Baseball Classic knockout round before yesterday. Yes. You were aware, Jacob Dettamore, were you aware? I was not 100% aware. I thought it, I thought if they hadn't clinched with the win over Mexico, they were, it was just like semantics preventing them from doing so. Well, the person who was the least aware that probably should have been was US manager, Mark Dorosa, who commented before the game, his comments led them to everybody to believe that he thought the US was in. That is not the case. And they lose to Italy eight six last night. Yeah, they were not. And they had to come back from down eight, nothing. Yeah, that was a mental let down last night from their win over Mexico. And so now in the final pool play game, if Mexico defeats Italy by scoring four or fewer runs, the US will be eliminated because they played

12:13and pitched guys that they probably wouldn't have if they had not secured the knockout round already. And that would be a major let down. Yes, that is. That lineup is completely stacked. And if you are Mark Dorosa, someone on your staff has to alert you to this. Yeah, I mean, it's not all on him. But dude, the bracket is not that difficult to follow. It's not. And you know, I, now while I was not super high on the chances of the US winning this thing, if nothing else, just because, you know, you've got guys like Terrick Scoobal. I'm just going to throw my one thing and then I'm going to go back to Tiger's training camp, which I have a problem with. But the fact that you weren't paying close enough attention to put the right lineup out there to secure your spot in the quarter final is a major gaff on Dorosa's part. And that is your midweek digest.
