The education authority just announced it's largely restored with over 414,000 accounts for pupils, teachers, and staff up and running again. Earlier this week, police arrested a 16-year-old boy in the Portedown area on suspicion of computer misuse linked to the hack. He's out on bail while they dig deeper into the case. The attack hit at the start of April, right during Easter break, locking kids out of study materials when they needed them most for GCSEs and A levels. It caused real chaos, forcing some to head back to school early. The authorities' own investigation pinned it as a targeted hit on a few schools where some personal data got compromised, but they've contained it. Now, call volumes to the help desk are back to normal school day levels.
