Nored Returns to Butler as New Basketball Coach

0:00On March 25, Butler University has a new head coach for its men's basketball team. Ronald Nord, a 2012 graduate and former star player there, takes over the job. The school's athletics director, Grant Landecker, announced the hire on Wednesday, March 25. Nord's shown as the starting point guard during his playing days at Butler. He helped the Bulldogs reach back-to-back NCAA national championship games under coach Brad Stevens. He wrapped up his college career with academic all-America honors that same year. Over the past decade, Nord built a solid coaching career in the NBA. He's worked on staff for five different franchises. Most recently, he spent the last three seasons as an assistant with the Atlanta Hawks. Fans can catch Nord's official reintroduction to the Butler and Indianapolis communities this Friday, March 27. The new event at Hinkle Fieldhouse is free and open to the public. This hire brings a familiar face back home.
