He thanked Noem for her service, and says her new role would be special envoy for the shield of the Americas, a new security initiative in the Western Hemisphere. Noem is faced growing scrutiny, after what current and former Homeland Security officials perceived as serious missteps, including her decision to pause TSA pre-check during the current DHS funding lapse, which was later reversed, her alleged romantic relationship

This comes after he admitted to an affair with the former staffer who later died by suicide, in an interview released last night with a conservative talk show host. I made a mistake, and I had a lapse in judgment, and there was a lack of faith. And I take full responsibility for those actions. The House Ethics Committee is investigating Gonzalez for sexual misconduct and inappropriate favoritism over the scandal, which violates House rules. While Gonzalez says he'll cooperate, he insisted that he would stay in the race. Police arrested a man suspected of killing three women in Utah, two on a hiking trail, and another in a home.

3:05That's according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. The Utah DPS says the suspect is 22-year-old Ivan Miller from Iowa. Authorities tracked him in one of the victim's vehicles through southern Utah and to northern Arizona, and eventually into Colorado, where he was taken into custody. Investigators aren't sure why Miller traveled to Utah, or why the three women were killed. A local official told CNN the suspect appeared to have, quote, no connections to the victims and no connections to the area that they're aware of. The grizzly discoveries of the bodies in Utah yesterday sparked the manhunt in multiple counties, prompting schools and businesses to close. Coming up, a pop star's new legal troubles. Officials say that the California Highway Patrol pulled her over around 9.30 p.m. local time, and that she was booked into jail around 3 a.m. and was released about three hours later this morning. According to a rep from Britney Spears camp, they are saying, quote, this was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. They go on to say that her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan for her well-being. Now, Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4th. That is a for us.
