3:07And let me in particular focus on the $220 million ad campaign, many of which feature you very prominently. An ad campaign that's more expensive than the whole budget for one fight after another or any Hollywood blockbuster film. Uh-oh. So let me ask you, you said that the president approved this, this fast expenditure on a media campaign that largely profiles you. How do you know that? Did he approve it to you personally? This media campaign was critical in telling the world and this country that we are enforcing the laws in the United States of America that if you're in your country illegally, then you should leave. Now, if you want the chance to come back to the United States, some day in the future, if you don't, you will be detained and will be removed and never get the chance to come back. What the fuck is wrong with that now? Excuse me, Madam Secretary, how do you know the president approved of this $220 million contract? We had conversations and worked with OMB to make sure that the funding was there.

4:09There's me, I just want to clarify. So you had conversations directly with the president where he approved this $220 million ad campaign that significantly features you. Sir, this campaign was talking about making sure that people knew that our laws were being in the position. We continue to go through the process. It was a competitive bid. Campy and I had nothing of choosing. Excuse me. So the president approved this expenditure. Sir, I've been explaining this to you how it when it was a competitive process. Well, career officials, that's an otherwise security. You don't want to confirm the president's role in this and I can understand why. But you say it was a competitive process. And yet, this contract went to a company that didn't exist two weeks before they got the contract. Oh, how interesting. Sir, I can't say to that. I don't want to name that company. You said you can't speak to it. But let me ask you this. Are you saying it's just a coincidence. It's just a happy circumstance. It's just a saying this, a fortuitous event that 143 million of that went to a subcontractor. Go check it. That you worked with extensively as governor in South

5:10Coder or during your campaign. That is just coincidental. The same process was followed for this media contract and any other media contract that's happened. Just a coincidence. Just a department of home and security. I had nothing to do with no political. Nothing to do with it. No, no, no. So who's a contractor? Just a coincidence. And we don't have a legal process for weighing in on some contractors. It doesn't exist. Excuse me, just a coincidence. Also then, that this 143 million dollar. Excuse me. I'm trying to ask questions. You're trying to say that this was a political decision and it absolutely is not. I'm just asking you. So it's just a coincidence that 143 million dollar subcontract went to the husband of your press person. Also, someone that Corey Lewandowski, one of your special government employees, worked with extensively. So that was all a coincidence, right? Because you had no knowledge of this, no involvement. Media company that gets the contract. And on the people around you had an involvement. The ability to choose subcontractors. We don't weigh in on who subcontractors are. There's not a legal process for us to determine what subcontractors

6:13are a part of a contract that goes out for a competitive bid. And only career employees at DHS were in on the shoes of those major contracts. That neither you nor Mr. Lewandowski, nor your press secretary married to the husband of the person who got this 143 million dollar. We were not a part of the decision making. Can you state for the record that none of you that I've just described had any role played, any part made any communication with any government agency that was involved in deciding who would get that contract? To the best of my knowledge, none of us were involved in deciding who got those contracts for the Medicaid. We're any of you involved in advocating, communicating, or expressing a preference in any way, with the government, excuse me, makes a sense of question. We're any of you involved in any way in communicating, expressing a preference in any form, manner, verbal, written with any government agency that was involved in the contracting process. The same process was followed for that contract that is for all media contracts that have gone forward. To my knowledge, there was no involvement whatsoever

7:14of anybody that is on the political up 90's side of this position and that media contract. Thank you, Mr. Chairman, I yield back. Okay, so that was at the hearing, was that the first one or the second, the first one, the first day was the Senate, the second day was the House, all the days run together. Hi, welcome to a Thursday. I'm Nicole Sandler, you may be wondering, why did I open the show with that? But I know if you're listening to the show or watching this program, you already know the breaking news. Yeah, Chrissy Nome was fired and the way Trump, I even just hate things, does these things is by social media because that's what a president does, right? God, everything about this piece of shit is just amoral and unnatural.

8:16Well, he did it by, you know, his social media company, which I understand, they're looking at selling because it's tanking, because nobody goes there except him. Here's what he wrote just about an hour ago. Yeah, I mean, I was getting the show already and then all of a sudden this happened, so I had to change plans, but Greg Palist will be here in about 10 minutes, which was always planned, that I'd have a chance to open the show and take care of any new business that I needed to deal with and such as Chrissy Nome being fired and we haven't even gotten to the other part of it, which is she's already been replaced by someone even more back shit crazy than she is. So the nice thing is we won't ever have to look

9:16at that manufactured face again. But oh, he started it with, is this, I don't know, I just saw one of his shits and it's about announcing the other guy. It isn't about the firing of her. It shows you how much time was spent on El Dumpo, but he did, apparently he, and I don't know, so because I pulled the wrong thing, apparently, I don't know what excuse he gave. I know he thanked her for her time at Homeland. Yeah, so there's that. But a great piece by also in Superstang and his writing partner, who is Andrew Perez, who are now at Zeteo, he says he has the reason or they have the reason. And let me just read a little bit of this to you. They write, known wasn't fired for putting masked federal agents on the streets to racially profile and kidnap people

10:19or for running a department that has repeatedly violated American's constitutional rights or for overseeing agencies whose employees have senselessly murdered U.S. citizens in cold blood on video. No, instead, known was apparently fired for telling Congress under oath that Trump approved her departments $220 million ad campaign, a suite of ads in which known repeatedly demonized immigrants while lavishing praise on the president. And it goes on from there. They say it was not the only reason she was canned, but it certainly was a last straw of sorts. She has, after all, been pissing off other senior Trump appointees for months now and some of her high-level colleagues have been leaking against her for a while.

11:23The imagery of that is just kind of gross. Leaking against her for a while, trying to drum up support for an ouster. Okay, in fact, we had heard, I had heard, reports yesterday that El Dumpo was going around D.C. Asking people, should I fire her? You think I should fire her? Because he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. Anyway, the result is she's out. So you might be wondering, who pretell is in? Well, let me play, again, I didn't have time to really find some of the clips I wanted, but I've got a couple. This is only the most recent clip of this moron, who's gonna replace Christy Nome

12:23as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. I guess the good news, I could say, is he's a Republican senator, so that makes the margin of control of the Senate. The Republicans have of the Senate smaller, but yeah, he'll be replaced with another one of them. So, anyway, this happened just, I think yesterday or the day before. Again, the days run together for me. All right, we'll go to the videotape. Whoops. Oh, to eliminate other possible alternatives to leadership. This is worth, and we're taking out the threat. And if you're part of the threat, then you have your target. You can see this is worth. We have declared war. They declared war on us, but we have a war in the Secretary of State. We have a declare, just now he said this is worth. They called it war. When I was saying it, okay, well, that was a misspoke, but I was saying that they declared war on us,

13:23but war is ugly. It always has been ugly. But we're at a, we're taking out a regime that's been trying to attack us for quite some time. But you're not conceiving this as war. We have declared war. So if we haven't declared war, then I don't see that. The president has asked us to declare war yet, but they have declared war on us. We're just simply fighting the threat that's been at our door for 47 years. That's really? Okay, so support journalism, okay. So yeah, so that was Mark Wayne Mullin, the man with two first names, Anna Mullin. Oh, Mullin, I'm sorry, not Mullin. Anyway, that's the guy who's going to replace Kristi Nome, heading up the Department of Homeland Security. Yeah, you know, there's a saying, be careful what you wish for. You know, something about the evil you know

14:24because as we thought, you know, great, Kristi Nome's out, ding dong. But, you know, you could easily be replaced by someone worse. And just to punctuate that, I've got one more short clip. I want to play for you before we bring in Greg Pallist. And you're going to love this one. I think this was only about two years ago. It was a, I don't know, a Senate committee hearing on something. Anyway, let's go to the videotape. On what Mr. O'Brien just said about the right to work states versus forced work states, I should remember working pretty hard in long hours, but it's like he's self-made. What a clown fraud always has been always will be. I should set this up for those of you listening to the audio stream and not watching, responding to a social media post, Republican Senator Mark Wayne Mullen challenged labor leader.

15:27Yeah, so yeah, 15 bucks a month. Labor leader, Sean Mullen, Sean O'Brien, sorry, to a fight during a Senate hearing. Okay, so the guy he's talking to is like the head, I think it was the head of the AFL CIO, Sean O'Brien. That's the guy you hear him talking to, okay? Let's go back. It is like he's self-made. What a clown fraud always has been, always will be. Quick, the tough guy act and the Senate hearings. You know where to find me. Any place, any time, cowboy. So this is a time, this is a place. If you wanna run your mouth, we can be too consenting adults, we can finish it here. Okay, that's fine, perfect, you wanna do it now? I'd love to do it right now. We'll stay in your butt up, yeah. This is a Senate hearing. Oh, hold up, hold up. Stop there. Zeyes, solution every polling. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. You know, you're a United States Senator. Sit down. Thank you, Bernie. Sit down please. No, he doesn't.

16:27Hold it, hold it. If we can, no, I have the, I'm sorry. This is the polling said, you'll have your time. Can I respond? No, you can't. This is a hearing. Thank you, Bernie. Anyway, so that was Mark Wayne Mullen, who read, I don't know, a threat by the teamsters president. That's who Sean O'Brien is, you know, talking shit to this moron, probably over social media or text or something. And Mark Wayne Mullen decides it's appropriate to read that exchange in a Senate hearing and challenge this labor leader to take it outside. Let's fight, let's be real man. I'll punch you in the face. Thank God Bernie Sanders was chair of that committee then. Yeah, so anyway, that's our new secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

17:31Aren't you proud? Well, anyway, let's move on. That's the breaking news for today. Oh my God. All right, well, we had the first primary election of the 2026 midterm elections on Tuesday. And you know, it's interesting because I'm watching some of the corporate media coverage of the election and probably the most, you know, celebrated contest in that. The one that we were all like paying attention to, because we had two good candidates. And frankly, I would have been okay with either one of them winning. But the Republican Party stuck its nose into this race in Dallas County. Well, it's a race in the state of Texas for the Democratic nomination to be the candidate to run for US Senate against whoever the Republicans put up.

18:32And it's between Jasmine Crockett and James Tallerico. James Tallerico kind of knew on the scene. He's a state assemblyman who got, you know, made a great speech and got national attention. And he's got, he's the real deal. So there was some interest in him. And he decided to throw his hat in the ring. And of course, we know Jasmine Crockett. She's a firecracker, she's great. So then just a couple of weeks ago, Stephen Colbert wanted to bring him on his show. And all of a sudden the Republicans started screaming about the equal time rule. Now that was something that was in place, you know, was really used and paid attention to, like back in the 80s, until Bill Clinton's Telecommunications Act of 1996. And then all the rules relating to broadcast

19:35were just kind of, you know, thrown out and ignored. The ownership rules, the, you know, equal time, the fairness doctrine, all of a sudden that stuff didn't matter anymore. And when they did, the equal time rule was in place, you know, when it was a general election between, you know, a Republican and a, a Democrat who were vying for the same position, it wasn't used in a primary between two candidates of the same party. And really, what the fuck do the, what does the Republicans have to do with this anyway? But they fought, they said, you can't error that interview with James Talleriko because of equal time. And so they didn't error it. And they put it up on social media, where it got probably at least 10 times the views and exponentially more attention than it would have gotten had Colbert just error the interview. And I said at the time, the only person that's hurting is Jasmine Crockett.

20:39Okay, and that's what happened because then they, they fucked around with the votes, changing the rules in Dallas County, her home territory, her congressional district that she's represented so well. And so basically all the votes from that, that county were messed up and there was all kinds of shenanigans back. Which we covered early in the week. And so shocker, Talleriko won. What do you have won without them messing around with the elections? Who knows, maybe, possibly. And frankly, again, I don't have a horse in this race. I like both of them. But so every bit of coverage that I saw from the corporate media just reported it as, you know, he won. He beat her and it's over. And, you know, how did her race fall apart?

21:41And none of them, none of them mentioned the manipulation by the Republican Party. And, oh my God. And the chair of the Texas State Republican Party who happened to be, he's the one who changed all the rules about where people could vote. That made it so that they'd go to their polling place and they're told you're on the wrong place. What? It was Alan West. And people who've been with me for a long time, I remember in 2011, when I was living in South Florida, he represented, well, he was the congressman from my district. And I was the thorn in his side. I did mornings on the, the, the, the Air America affiliate in South Florida, which no longer exists because, of course, Clear Channel needed a fourth sports talk station in South Florida, but that's another story for another day. Alan West, I went to a town hall meeting

22:42to ask him a question. And because I tried to ask him a question, he had me thrown in jail. Yep, I was arrested, I spent the night in jail, and he made some lovely comments. Oh, I hope she enjoyed herself. Piece of shit. So anyway, it all is, you know, two degrees of separation here, actually, one. So all this, I tell you because our guest, who you know well, has been working on the topic of voter suppression. And voter suppression comes in many shapes and sizes and forms and colors and devious schemes. And I think this was one of those. Now, we haven't talked about this before, but I'm so happy to welcome Greg Pallist back to the show. He is, as you know, an investigative reporter whose work you've seen on, well, at the Guardian in Rolling Stone, but mostly overseas because, of course, the media here in the US does not like

23:45to print or carry Greg Pallist's work. In addition to his other films and a number of books that you have read and seen, and we've talked about on the air, he is a film producer as well. And his latest movie is Vigilante's Inc, which is so good. It should be made into a movie. It's something everybody should read or should watch. And we've talked about it so many times on this show, but I bring it up because it's all about how they steal your votes or keep your votes from being counted. And so much more. We'll get to all of that, Greg Pallist. Sorry, everything got turned upside down like 20 minutes before I was gonna hit the air. And I saw the news about Christy Nome and so I'm all scattered. But I'm so glad you're here. Good to see you again. I'm glad I'm here with you too, Nicole. And now that McMulloch is ahead of the Homeland Security,

24:45I just feel safer, I don't know about you. You have to sleep with Laura with the Cori-Luandowski as well. Is that kind of part of the job? I guess. Well, did you notice during the hearings, both days, the guy sitting behind her with the permanent scowl on his face, that was Christy Nome's husband. That's her husband, she's still married to this guy. No, and they asked her point blank under oath, did you have sexual intercourse to Cori-Luandowski, which is a violation of federal rules? Yes it is. And one of them has to resign. So I guess Trump, as he loves Cori-Luandowski, I'm surprised he's not sleeping with him. But no, no, I'm had to go. No, not at all. You know, does she never answered the question though? No, she refused. It's garbage, it's tabloid garbage, and how dare you go there? Just answer, yes or no, it's an easy question. Did they even think that they left in separate cars? Probably, or they left in the same car and then two blocks down the road, they, you know.

But I didn't want to release it before the primary to not unduly influence things. And I would remind people that Stephen Colbert doesn't like congressman Crockett. It's bad.

26:46He had her on three times. Right. And may I remind, talk about the fairness rule. Excuse me. How about Fox News? Excuse me, Tom. Right. How many times do they have? How many times do they have that Trump on and every freeco, every freeco in his caucus? And I never heard them say, oh, and now we're going to bring on the day. Equal time. Yes. Apparently it's equal time for Stephen Colbert. It's not enough that they fired him and now have this. And I don't use it term lightly. This crypto fascist Barry Weiss who is basically the in-house sensor for CBS over 60 minutes and everything else. They're going to start having to do, you know, and they do these toilet paper commercials. I think that they ought to have Trump on as an A-hole to give a response being so you complete that when you need to. But so here's a, you know, so I want to tell you about Texas as well.

27:47If you watch the film, if you if you watch vigilante's ink and you've got to. Yes, you must. This was a special edition put out for a memory of my one of my closest friends of my life, Jesse Jackson, Reverend. And so in the film, you'll get to meet Ken Paxton, who's leading the race for the Republican nomination for Senate, which is great for the Democrats. Right. And may I just interject for a moment to show how illegally they work or fix things. They had a primary. Neither Ken Paxton nor John Corn in the incumbent got over 50% of the vote. So they go to a runoff for the Republican nomination to run against now. James Tallerico. So, so they have to have a voting in Ken Paxton. OK, but they have to have a runoff. And Trump says, I think I need to stop this. I'm going to make an endorsement.

28:47And whoever I pick, the other guy needs to just drop out. Don't you agree? And he's asking the people. No, no, that's not how it works. Well, you know, we've tried democracy and what did we get? So, or a good imitation of democracy. So, which is what you have in Texas. So, let me tell you something about Ken Paxton as attorney general. OK. And you'll see this in my film. He's in my film. Yes, he is. And Ken Paxton stopped the city of Houston, which has, and the Harris County, which has the biggest black population America, not Atlanta or Chicago. I'm talking to Houston as the largest black population of any city in America. And Rodney Ellis, who's also in my film, he was, he tried me. It goes during COVID and when Trump ran for reelection 2020. And Ellis said, well, I don't want people to die waiting seven hour lines and getting COVID. So, we're going to mail out just like they did in Georgia,

29:49by the way. We're going to mail out ballots to every person in Houston here in the county. But that would be two and a half million ballots. And Ken Paxton, as attorney general, went to court and successfully blocked Rodney Ellis from mailing out ballots, even though his buddy in Georgia just on the same thing. And so, the result, according to Ken Paxton himself on the Steve Bannon show, he said, if I hadn't blocked those mail-in ballots, Trump would have lost Texas. Think about that, Texas. Because the truth is, when I've talked to Jasmine Crockett to all the people I work with in Rodney Ellis, who is basically the lead's Harris County, Houston, it's a blue state if you let people vote. That's right. And Ken Paxton knew that. If you let people vote, it's a blue state. And so, that's what Taloriko is up against. And again, like you say, these are two very good candidates.

30:51I think the Democrats were so hungry to finally get back that sentencing that they made what voters say was a practical choice. Remember, he's a very, he's a seminarian. He's white, he's clean cut. But this is how the party thinks that he's the safe one. Yeah, and he probably is, but we'll see. If Ken Paxton's in the race, this will be interesting, because remember, he's still attorney general. And he's still going to have control over the elections counting his own votes. People in that position have resigned when they run for higher office, but he's not, because he wants to keep his fingers in the till. So, Axton, again, it's Paxton himself who said Trump would have lost if he hadn't stopped those black people in Houston from voting. It's just that simple. Wow, wow. Yes, you know, there's so much. And we learn a lot about the many ways, many things that are that make up the wide-ranging thing

31:53of voter suppression. It's not just, you know, what we used to scream about that, you know, there was a problem with the vote counting or the machines or the this. No, you showed in real time exactly how they are making it. So, that people who are registered and eligible to vote and they go to vote, and they find out that all of a sudden there are names not on the voter rolls anymore. That's right. There's two big things that are happening through three, really. Okay, so under the so-called Save Act, which is actually in effect through an executive order. Number one, if you're going to register to vote, you have to prove your citizenship. Ladies, yes, the nine million of you have taken your husband's name. Your proof of citizenship is a birth certificate or passport. Now, if you have a passport, does it have your birth name on it? Or your husband's birth name? And if it doesn't, you're going to have a conflict

32:53between your proof of citizenship and your driver's license or your prior registration. So that's to begin with. What about passport? By the way, do you know where your mom puts your birth certificate? It's got to be original. No copy jazz, it's got to be original or certified copy. Because it's very easy to fake birth certificate. But why would you need it? They have yet to prove that there, when they went after, just so you know one of the stories I did in, I think it was, Obama was president. So I think it was near 12 when the state of Florida. Where I lived at the time. Yeah, the state of Florida demanded that Obama turn over the list of people who have been deported and Trump is demanding the same thing, but nationwide. But he's authorizing it. Obama tried to stop it, but a court ordered him to turn over the list. And he said, this is not a list of people who are voting twice. So guess what they found on the list of deportees? They found a guy named Jose Garcia.

33:54Oh, no, that's such an unusual name. And the Rodriguez, who are deported. And so they took out every Jose Garcia in the state, removed them from the voter roll saying that they were deported and somehow they swam the Caribbean to come back just to Florida, et cetera. And nobody else has that name. You know, Linda Rodriguez, really? Yeah, so what happened is that they removed 180,000 people from the voter rolls. 180,000 people saying that these were deportees who come back and say, oh, we're not really removing them because we're saying that they were deported. All they have to do is go to a federal court with their citizenship papers and we'll let them vote. So a few thousand people were able to do, take off a day of work to do that and show their papers. But Rodriguez or Garcia, you had to show your papers. But if your name is Coke or Trump, you don't have to show your papers. Because you're not gonna be, I mean his, he was deported, his grandfather was deported, but that probably doesn't show up.

34:55Now, the thing is, of the 180,000, exactly one out of 180,000 was proven to be an alien voter, happened to be an Austrian Republican, maybe with a little mustache, I didn't check, an Austrian Republican and that was it and they removed 180,000 people. So this is what's coming nationwide. This is why Florida's a purple state and it doesn't have a damn thing to do with Cubans being there because the big in-migration is from Puerto Rico, quarter million people into Orlando. But Trump doesn't realize that Puerto Rico is part of the United States and we saw that during the Super Bowl. Yes, when he talks about the president of Puerto Rico, I hate to tell you that you're Donald. You are. You're the president of the Puerto Rico. Shouldn't be, but it is. Yeah, but you know, yeah, he does, you know, I'm laughing, but it's damn tragic, especially when there's a hurricane, he's throwing paper towels to people.

35:55Remember that? So all I'm saying is that they cannot win it straight and that's why the film Vigilante's ink, because I want you to understand what's coming up. Now, another thing that's coming up and the biggest thing is Vigilante vote challenges, which is why my film's called Vigilante's ink. And by the way, it's narrated by Rosario Dawson worth watching just for that. And so I can, you'll see in the film that a group out of Texas again has sent lists of names of voters to remove from the voter rolls on what, you know, things like, oh, they've moved their dress or whatever, but it's very extraordinarily targeted to Democrats and people of color, young people and students. And when I say that they've targeted people, I'm talking over one million people are going to be challenged in the upcoming election. Now, they rolled this out in Georgia

36:56and they challenged more than 300,000 voters, but luckily, luckily we were able to block that by running, for the most part, by running in 2020, by running a massive, massive public education campaign. We had Rosario Dawson on bill boards. I was all over the state of work at NAACP, black voters matter. And of course, Reverend Jackson, and we were able to get 100,000 people re-registered. And if it weren't for that, and then we did other work to get, and I'm not partisan, I'm a journalist, but I do believe that the voters should pick our president, that voters should pick our senators. And that year, Reverend, so you had two progressive Democrats, War Knock and Ossoff, elected Angel Biden took the state. They said officially by 11,000 votes, remember we just tried to overturn it. I only need 11,000 votes. That's all you need to find them. And you know how you find them. Let me explain how you find them. You disqualify ballots. In Georgia, they were disqualifying ballots left and right.

37:57If you mail in a ballot, and there's a signature on it, and you registered with a middle initial, and you left it off the outside of the envelope, you're done. If the signature, if your name that you put in isn't exactly as it's on your driver's license, they'll disqualify the vote. Even if the, even if your driver's license misspells your name, please always check. So what they did was they challenged all these voters. You'll see in the film, there's one woman, this Republican official and the lady in the red dress, if you remember. I remember who she personally challenged 32,000 voters personally. And you're thinking she's not a good government official. This, she's just a self appointed vigilante vote hunter. Greg, so how does she know 32,000 people? Well, that's what I asked her. I started out very polite. She didn't know who I was. Foolishly, when I was filming her for this film, and I said, so you're challenged here, 32,000 voters, right to vote.

38:58She said, and then I said, I showed her some pictures like this black woman and a young guy, and I said, do you know these people? No, have you ever spoken to them? No, ever called them? No. You challenged their right to vote. You didn't know who the heck they were, but you challenged their right to vote. And you'll, and so she's flipped out because I also said, do you understand that, according to the head lawyer, the NAACP, I spoke to, this is a violation of the Ku Klux Klan law. Of 1873, and I said, do you understand the Ku Klux Klan law? She goes, no, I'm Canadian. So she said, and then she chased me out of the house, because she had, she and her husband chased me out of their house. They had loaded ammo all over the, loaded guns all over the place, and they had an AR-15 loaded right next to the door. And so they threw me out. You'll kind of enjoy that scene, because there was in the end no bloodshed, it's kind of funny. And by the way, when you talk about, you got arrested for asking a question,

39:59you'll see that happening in the film because I question Governor Brian Kim, and the, you know, for fixed basically, he also purged the state, forget the vigilante challenges. Wrongly purged, 336,134 people. I have the exact number, and I have, by the way, I have the names and addresses of every one of those voters wrongly removed. And I asked the governor, when he got off a tour bus, not expecting to see me, I had to track down his darn bus, and I asked him, are you just, you know, you're removing black voters, so you can win this election. What you don't see on the film is that he had me arrested by the state police. Oh my. And, and then they had to come up with the reason, because he wouldn't answer my question, so I was arrested, because I asked him a tough question. And so they said, the owner of the barbecue, of this barbecue joint where his bus was,

41:01had complained that I was trespassing. And he came out and said, this boy in trespassing, it's about time that someone asked the governor a real question, so they had to let me go. But you'll see all this stuff in the film, and it's funny, it's entertaining. Yeah, in fact, it's also heartbreaking, so I want you to watch it, it's important. It's all those things, just like your books are as well, but it is entertaining. You can have a party and show your friends who may not believe you when you tell them that, you know, actually, come on Harris, would have won that elections in 24, if not for all the votes that were taken away from citizens, people who were entitled to vote, who were citizens, who were registered, who had their votes stolen. I do have a trailer, a cute option that I want to play, so that people can see, and the woman in the red dress is featured prominently in it, just so you can get a taste of it,

42:02because you wouldn't believe it if we told you this, just like, frankly, if we were to go back like 15 years and say, this is what's gonna happen in 15 years, you know, no one would believe you, but if you presented, if you wrote a screenplay, it would be the most dystopian picture of the future that you'd be laughed out of offices in Hollywood, because that's never gonna happen here. Well, if you remember the standing joke of the Simpsons was that of President Trump, so it was like a national joke, and we're live, we're live, we're the punchline, unfortunately. Is this an attempt to remove a lot of Democrats, or a lot of people from voting? Get out of my house now. Motherfrog, law enforcement is going to the house as a place of employment and making people afraid to go out and exercise their rights. I'm going to clear a way to do this. I'm going to clear a way to do this. And today to come out and not be able to vote, embodies me to my core. My life is on the line. I could go to prison. If I just commit suicide, just to be open. Stop voter fraud. They rated a voter registration office and tried to send all of these college kids to jail. Call our voter fraud hotlines.

46:15And I give an account to sign the controversial election bill. He signed Senate Bill 202 back. If you go back to the bill signing, you will see gum imp. It's sitting under a painting of a plantation. Have to do something. If we don't get it back, you know, Vimper. How did the 280-year-old dynasty turn slavery? And suppression into profit and power. Brian Kemp is preparing to ban book. Who's book? Ban book. That is. Are you removing black voters from voter rolls? Just so you can win this election. Brian Kemp. Vigilante. Georgia's vote suppression hitman. And eight-year investigation. The documentary came out in spring of 2024.

47:18Greg Pallist, it is brilliant. And I will post the trailer. I'm cutting off the credits, of course. Executive producers, Martin Sheen. Who else? Yes. What does it mean? Martin, George DiCaprio, that's Leo's dad. And also Steve Nemeth, Maria Floria, who won the Oscar for Best Documentary. And so this is all-star broadcast. And we have updated it for the 24-electrozone now. That's why we went to Texas and Arizona and Michigan and Nevada, just to show you that it's, you know, the evil comes out of Georgia. That's why they test drive all of their voting shenanigans because it's such a close state. It's purple state right on the line. So they desperately need that edge. But they moved it to Texas because the GOP knows, if sometimes the Democrats forget, Texas is a blue state, the state of Jim Hightower who won the statewide office, the state of Lyndon Johnson.

48:19Yes. Also, I got it. Why am I drawing a blank on her name? The brilliant former governor. Yes, and Richard's the great former governor. Oh my god, she was amazing. Yes, and, but, you know, so you have to understand. This is a blue state if people get to vote. And that's true of Georgia. Absolutely, we saw that when they sent out ballots during COVID to everyone. And there was less of a fight over who could vote. The Democrats swept it. Right. And so, and so, you know, here is a Democratic party often forgets. They think that these are redneck red states. Oh, Obama won Indiana. You, the issue is vote suppression. And it's not about, you know, fixing the voting machines or spiders from space, from Elon Musk, with computers, all 49 out of 50 states use nothing but paper ballots these days. That's not the issue. It's who gets to vote, who gets challenged, who gets purged,

49:21whose votes get disqualified, which people have to remember. When you mail in that ballot, not for mail in ballots, they'll use every excuse to knock out your ballot. At least one in seven ballots gets knocked out for technical reasons. So be careful, vote early, vote in person. If you can, otherwise, if you can't, make sure that you do mail, get a mail in ballot. In Texas, you have to have everything but a cardiologist report in order to get a mail in ballot. Wow. Except for the, except for the, except for the governor who needs a Proctologist report, but then he's a big behind. But any rate, I have to lighten it up, man, because otherwise, you have to. Graham, Graham. You, you have to, you, and you do it in the film because it is an entertaining, funny film. But Greg Palace, you've always done that. You do it in your books. You, it, you make it entertaining, which is the only way people will pay attention. And that's good. It's the only thing he wants me to do while I'm doing it, because you're, you're going to see a lot of people like, like,

50:23if you, when you see the film, you'll see that black man who is major comat oil turner. Yep. A soldier assigned to California. And they, they challenged his vote. They wouldn't let him vote. He had a fly, 5,000 miles round trip, go to a federal court to get his single vote counted. Wow. And he did that as you'll, you'll find out why in the film. Yeah, he would do this. But this, this is you're talking about a top Pentagon official who's denied the right to vote. And he knew exactly why. That's right. And he take a look at that film, the African American. You know exactly why he was being stopped. And he went to court, but for his one vote, but Trump was able to snatch Georgia through these shenanigans in 2024, but also Texas, yeah, Arizona, you know, Arizona, Nevada. You have to look at the purchase. I mean, what they're doing in Arizona, because as you know, this like the, the BS that that, uh, Trump is winning the Hispanic vote, as you know, from the vote this week, you got slaughtered in Texas.

51:27And they knew it was going to happen in Arizona, unless they removed Hispanic voters. Well, you know, I live in Arizona now. Well, I'm in Maricopa County. And I probably shouldn't say this, you know what I'm not going to because I don't want to get her in trouble. I know somebody who works in elections in Maricopa County who keeps it above board. You know, she understands you separate your personal feelings from the job. The job is, the job is to make sure we accurately count every vote. The job is to make sure we have the best, you know, elections that are, you know, pristine that we count the votes. Maricopa County, Maricopa, which is Phoenix, by the way, for people who don't know, is one of the better systems within the state. Yeah. But the problem is, is that these purges are coming at this, at this from the state level. Yeah, and they shove these purge lists down the throats of local officials. I got to tell you in Georgia, most of the Republicans voting, local voting officials, most of them were horrified.

52:30In fact, they refused to, most Republicans refused these bogus challenges in Georgia, but under the new laws, they can't, the locals can't, the local elections officials can't challenge the state decisions from the most part or challenge these vigilante challenges. By the way, it's called vigilante's ink because the last time a mass vigilante challenge, that is citizens who are challenging other citizens who are right to vote, was 1946, when the Cluclux clandered it, and they did it, they incorporated under the name, the Cluclux clan incorporated itself out under the name vigilante's ink. And so we are returning to the Cluclux clan plan in many states, including Texas, Indiana, Georgia, Michigan, several states, Florida is big. Because again, you know, Obama won Florida twice. And if you can't, if they don't challenge those Hispanic names coming in from Puerto Rico,

53:30if these are American citizens, it's like moving from any state within 30 days, you're allowed to vote. Yes. But go ahead and try it. Right. It's the problem. And Greg Pallas, again, the trailer we showed, you saw the woman in red who challenged over 30,000 voters registration, people she didn't know, she knew nothing about. And you know, what the trailer didn't explain, you need to watch the movie, but for a quick explanation, there are, you know, clubs, I will, I've told everybody, I've gone to the local Democratic Party Club here, because I'm not a journalist, I am a, I'm a commentator, I'm a talk show host. So I do have opinions, that's what I do, but I am. So I went and it was well attended, but I found out that the Republican Democrat, the Republican Party meeting has ridiculous amounts of people who buy the bullshit. And what they do, and please correct me if I'm wrong, because I learned all this from you, Greg, is that they distribute lists of names to the people

54:32who go to these clubs and say, these are the names you're going to challenge, and they tell them how to do it. Yes, and that's how they know, yeah, it's deeply disturbing to use the clan plan. They literally hand people who don't know anything about anything, a bunch of lists, and then they submit, these people don't do any check, they submit these lists without even looking at them. And these lists are provided by this text group, which is a Trump front called Trudevo. They're the people that put out that horrific, bogus, racist film, 2000 mules, they call 2000 black men mules. That was the next to Sousa, right? That's right. And they had a recant, they had it, now they're being sued to affair thee well, and you'll see in my film clips from that film where they're justifying the challenges to the vote by saying, look at all these black men, here's pictures of black men, because by the way, every male voting station, Dropbox in America has a video camera on it, the video cameras locked or otherwise, you can't vote

55:35in that machine, so everything is filmed. They kept showing black men just doing nothing but a voting saying, well, look at them, they're stuffing balancing, and one guy, they showed like three times. They said he voted 27 times, and did so. It's the felony crime. He took $10 from George Soros and Stacey Abrams to cast to commit this felony crime on camera. Right. And it turns it out that the guy on camera is, by the way, his name is Mark Andrews, he was a Verizon executive, just putting in his belt and wife belt, and they called him a mule, that he's committing a felony crime, so they showed other people too, but he finally said, I have enough ensued. The problem for that is he was basically, as I understand, chased out of the state and fear for his life. I mean, if they're gonna go after Marjorie Taylor Greene and her family, I'm no fan of her, I can tell you this, no one should be threatened with their life because of a position that they take, and there are other people that have had a lead this day, you'll see a woman Helen Ho, who was head of 10,000 Koreans vote,

56:40and she's a lawyer, and they threatened her with felony indictment, which they didn't drop, because she'd photocopied registration forms, because the state was pretending that they're losing forms, thousands of forms, so she made photocopies. Uh-huh. To prove that they weren't losing. Yeah, when they said, so the state said, oh, we never got your registration form. She said, well, I have copies here. They said, well, we'll be right over, and they kicked in her door, they took computers, they threatened a bunch of elderly Korean Americans with arrest, including her, so she left the state, you know, and this is the problem. So Greg, you said that, now the Jasmine Crockett interview that you've been sitting on until after the primary, she had just seen the film. This is what I, and the number of times we've spoken about the film, I've always asked you, you know, are you getting it to the members of Congress? What are they saying about it? And what are they doing about it? What are they doing? And when are we gonna see that interview?

57:41Yeah. Well, we wanna get people to see the film. So Jonathan Jackson's Congressman, I mean, he's mourning his father right now, we'll be hosting a showing of the film for the Congressional Black Caucus. With Jasmine Crockett. Cool. I hope she doesn't have to give up her seat in the house, probably does for this room, I don't know. She does, because she missed the primary. She, you know, she, yeah, it sucks. She, I have a feeling she, we will see a lot more of Jasmine Crockett. Oh, yeah, no, she's a great way. She's awesome. She's awesome. You know, I don't care what Trump says about her being low IQ, she says that about every black woman. Yes, every black woman, you're right. And she is a top rated trial lawyer. I would not mess with her, Mr. Trump. I don't know, yeah. Okay, so back to seeing the film and showing us. Yeah. And yeah, so I hope if, I don't wanna run out of all your time, but I hope that, okay, I do want people to again go to YouTube and see that film.

Here are the numbers. Just so you know, I was a professor of statistics. And I, so I went through the statistics that the US government itself keeps and just calculated, well, let's remove the vote suppression factor. In that case, Harris would have had three and a half million more votes, would have won the popular vote by about a million, and would have taken five more states. It was all over except for vote suppression. And I gotta tell you, I worked all over the world. Yes. I have seen, did see vote suppression years ago in Mexico, and I've seen it in some African states, certainly in Russia, but you know, when I work in Europe, people do not understand this idea that you tell people you can't vote or take your name off of voter registries. Most nations like Switzerland, they don't have voter registration.

59:43They assume if you're walking into vote, you're a citizen, why wouldn't you be able to vote? They encourage people to vote. They make it as easy as possible for people to vote. They want everyone to vote. It's opposite world here. The Republicans don't want anyone who might be inclined to vote democratic to vote. So here's the problem. Here's why we still have vote suppression. Since I first took on this topic in the year 2000, when Al Gore beat George Bush, but he only did so by removing 58,000 black men from the voter rolls in Florida. And that was the first major public investigation. That's how George Bush won it by George Bush. He took it. He took it. Right. And then the Supreme Court says, stop counting. Now, stop counting. Right now, no more because so many votes, hundreds just so you know the number. People don't know the number. But I'll give it to you. If you have another free film out there called the best democracy, money can buy 179,000 votes

1:00:43were disqualified. And I even thought this is after the voting, the balloting, 179,000 ballots disqualified, almost all of them in the black counties. And what happened here is that the Democrats constantly refused to acknowledge vote suppression. In fact, the only time they seemed to have brought it up is when Stacey Abrams, of course a black woman, a Yale law graduate, threw it in their face. And one of the things that the Democratic Party was always complaining to me about, and I said, I don't care, I'm not a Democrat. I'm not any party. Is that if I tell people that their vote can be suppressed or their ballot won't get counted, that they'll stop voting. And Stacey Abrams proved in Georgia that that was not true. That, in fact, it angers people and motivates people. You say they're trying to steal your vote. You know why? Because it's valuable. That's right. They're taking your vote because it's valuable. Do you let anyone pick your pocket and take 500 bucks out of your wall?

1:01:44Right. No. And your vote is worth more than 500 bucks. I can tell you that right now. And so don't let them steal your vote. And don't steal your own vote by not voting and not checking your registration. And now, like start today and do it monthly. Because online, online, the boat or dot gov, right? You can do it. I think right from the VOT vote dot org has every state or your own Secretary of State's office. But you know, you can protect your own vote. Yep. And check it. Just doing it once today is not enough. By the way, we're in overtime. So that's fine. No, no, no, no, it's okay. I'm just letting people know. The whole thing will run. We may be cut off on the Progressive Voice's network. But they'll get the whole podcast. It's on YouTube and it's going out on my streams, you know. So yeah, we're okay. This is great. 1:02:45Right. And again, keep checking on that registration just because you do it today. Doesn't mean they're not going to swoop in next month with some shenanigans and try to steal your vote. So it's an ongoing thing. And tell everybody else, they need to do it too. Because I know we say it every election. This is the most important election of our lifetimes. Everyone is.
