Nobel Peace Prize Winner Machado Returns to Venezuela

0:00On March 2nd, Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Carina Machado announced she will head back home in the coming weeks. The 58-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner shared the update on her social media Sunday. She traveled out of the country last December to pick up her award in Oslo and has been staying in the United States since then. Talk of her return picked up after the United States captured former Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, on January 3rd, Machado faces an ongoing investigation back home. Interim President Delci Rodriguez insists she must answer for backing U.S. military moves against Caracas. With tensions high, her plan trip could shake up the political scene even more.
