A few months ago pundits were asking “why is Mr Trump escalating a trade war by threatening high tariffs on major trading partner’s imported copper and pharmaceuticals?” My thinking is, “why not?!” The economy, the market, and policy developments have been a wind in the President’s back. The threatened downslides have not materialized and the naysayers look pretty silly. Three months ago the stock and bond markets were in a free fall. We were told a recession is coming we should empty the store shelves! None of that came true. Unemployment went way down, stock market went way up. But it’s just torture for leftists to say Mr Trump was right. So what do leftists have have left? They’re sending their useful idiots out for “no kings day!”
