Yeah, I said I wish I never would see Austin Matthews again on my fantasy team, but I didn't mean like I actually wanted him to get injured for the rest of the season. I was just frustrated at his lack of production, but I made my top pick disappear and now here we are going into the playoffs and we'll see how it goes. I'm sure there's a lot of people listening that are right there with me. I'm your host, Alan Dubrovsky, and with me to break down the impacts of the Matthews injury, the Jake Sanderson injury. We're going to talk about the good side, the bright side of injuries, the on bright side of injuries. There's so much.

There's too much silly stuff happening around then, but there's always silly stuff going on. I mean, Austin Matthews injury, crushing. It's a good thing. Elon, Austin Matthews managers like yourself have been compensating for what he hasn't been providing you all season long. You're ready for this. I mean, I was telling you to Ryan, and it was kind of like, yeah, he's been a really disappointing first round pick, but he's still giving me like third round pick production. You know, it's still like a big loss to my fantasy team. It's definitely, I could have named a few other

If like John Tavares was out for the season, I prefer that, but I'm kind of hoping John Tavares could like turn into the new Austin Matthews, though I guess early returns aren't that amazing. We'll see how it goes, but yeah, we'll get into everything. But yeah, it is kind of a little bit silly season for some teams. The Florida Panthers are randomly scratching people left and right. I'm not sure like who's actually hurt, who's just like getting a break, like Lundell missed a game, Ryan Hartz, like now missing a week, but as we'll get to all of that, we're presented by doberhockey.com, great website, and that's where I used to prep the show over at Frozen Tools, so they know what they're doing over there. The plan for today is yeah, I've just got a bunch of injuries, outries, we're going to have hot and cold streaks, but as the keeping Carlson tradition, as we get into these teams with the main story, we'll get into some side stories as well and try to help our listeners be successful as we enter fantasy playoffs. We're thinking very short term at this point. We're not being like, oh, I know this guy's cold, but you should add him because maybe in like a few weeks, he might get his feet under him. Like now we don't have, we don't have a few weeks. We're going to be focusing all of our advice and answers on what we think is going to happen over the next couple of

4:19weeks, and hopefully we'll be able to help you out here or at least have some fun. But yeah, let's start in Toronto. Matthews out for the season after this Radco Goudasse Collision, Goudasse Five Game Suspension. I obviously a lot of discourse about whether that was too little. I think the answer is clearly yes, but whatever, not for me to say and I maybe I'm a little bit biased. In the meantime, Toronto is playing today after losing to Buffalo yesterday. I mean, we all know Toronto's already been a disaster ever since the Olympic break and maybe even before, just like can't win a game to save their lives. They did win that game actually when Matthews got hurt against Anaheim, but yeah, it took that loss to Buffalo. We'll see how they do today. They were rolling with Tavaris Nielander, Michele, as a top line, and also Matthias Michele on the top power play recently. And I guess he's like the first person I need to bring up as like a potential beneficiary here, because Michele had already been on a hot streak. Right? He had that one goal to assist game versus Anaheim, but even before that he had scored in three games in a row,

5:20had assists in a couple of games before that. All of a sudden now, Matthias Michele is taking top power play and top line. Of course, top line, top power play in Toronto isn't what it used to be. And I will say I still have my concerns about Matthias Michele based on all the other times this season. We've brought up Matthias Michele when he was doing something only for him to completely disappear and get zero or 0.5 fantasy points game and game out. But I think this time it might be for real. Yes, I think going into my fantasy playoffs, I'd be kind of interested in top line top power play Matthias Michele. Yeah, I think you just have to keep in mind that top line is not the Austin Matthews line in Toronto, right? Like we're going to be interested in Matthias Michele. By the way, this isn't the first time Michele said good deployment this season. But he didn't do much. That was me trying to see nicely. He did nothing. So often last time, but you know what, Michele to be fair has not been on a run. Like he's been on lately. Yeah, that five game points streak. Then he went it snapped, but he answered back with three points. And I said, he's not on

6:25the Matthews line, but he is on the Nielander line. So Michele, Nielander and Tavarez. That is a nice place to be trying to produce from including on the top power play where Michele has a couple power play points. But I guess being on the top unit is pretty new just in the last game or two. So let's let's see what more Michele can do. I'm interested. Even like scheduled is always is pretty funny the next couple of weeks in terms of just there's some a lot of clustering for teams. And you went over all of that on matchup maximizer. I'm sure. So Michele is an interesting guy to look at as someone who, hey, yeah, suddenly he's in a good spot to produce, which he's been before. But he he's never quite produced like this at any other point this season. Yeah. So we'll see. It's just like he is the main guy that you have to look at with this Matthews injury. Another name on Toronto. I wanted to touch on really quickly Morgan Riley was bummed from the top power play. I see that he got back on the top power play. Today, I guess he'll be there

7:28because OEL is actually away because he's having a kid. So congratulations to him and his partner. But Morgan Riley, regardless, is part of this in seven games. I do wonder going into these fantasy plans, which by the way, the leaves for the next three weeks, three games, three games, three games. Like kind of the worst schedule you can have over these next three weeks. I guess like St. Louis does play two times next week. So maybe in the very short term, depending on who you can fit in when maybe St. Louis is worse. But I don't like, you know, Michele is like, yeah, could be interesting. As like a streamer, like we said, but at the same time, maybe you can find someone better with a better schedule. But on the flip side, yeah, if you're riding Morgan Riley, I wonder if and you have like other options at D or maybe you can drop Morgan Riley for like a forward that plays four times next week. I dropped a match a maximizer earlier today. And I noted that the busiest day next week is just 22 teams playing. There's like a ton of teams playing four times. And depending on your roster makeup, you may be able to fit people in on every single day. So if you can drop Morgan Riley who plays three times for a forward who's actually producing that plays four times, I'm at a point now where I can't I don't really see a reason why Morgan Riley should like go on a big run

8:31all of a sudden. He's been quiet for quite a long time. And he's just lost Austin Matthews. Yeah, I think maybe you can let him go. I agree. I don't think being on the top power play is reason enough to want to roster Morgan Riley, especially considering that may or may not actually be something that lasts. Morgan Riley has six power play points this season. And remember, he started the year on the top unit. He was there for I'd say he's probably gotten a solid 40 games in on that top unit this year and hasn't been able to do much with it. So Elon, I'm with you. I'm trying to move on from Morgan Riley and find a better lineup piece if I can. And yeah, and you know, for for what it's worth. And I think it's obvious. Matthias Michele would be a better lineup piece just to be perfect to share about that. Yeah. Yeah. If you can fit in the same number of games, for sure. I guess I'll keep on the Toronto train here. First of all, Joseph Wool has played three games in a row for a while. Looked like they were going 50 50 with Stolars, but Wool's been

9:32getting the net and actually the last three games. He's been pretty good. All things considered only one win because it's the Leafs now, but two goals against four goals against the two goals against all like 900 or higher save percentage. So I do wonder if you're looking for some volume who knows like if it'll continue or not. But if you can get like three games in a week from Joseph Wool, that might be a pretty good goalie stream. Also another very deep cut for you, but they called up this guy named Bo Olivier, I think, Grool. And he's played now three games for the Leafs this season. He scored one goal, a shorthand goal, one of the games. That was cool. But I think the main stat line there is six hits, three hits and five hits. So in a Banger's league, add him to the list of your, I don't know, Klappka. And I don't know. You listeners that are in hits leagues know who are the types of players we're coveting. And Bo Grul seems to be right up there. And also by the way, 19 minutes of ice time yesterday. So with Matthews out, maybe this Grool character is going to be able to get like increased deployment, which obviously gives more opportunities to throw hits,

10:32but maybe even more opportunities to produce some offense. He had two shots in that game against Buffalo. So just to name to keep in mind. And I promise Brian, that's all I've got on the Leafs today. All right. I'll just toss in John Tavares, right? Because he's also stepping up to a top line role with Austin Matthews out. He's on a 66 point pace after an 81 point pace, the year prior. He had a 67 point pace, the year before that. And an 82 point pace, the year before. So if you're one who believes that we're just going to see this pattern forever, prepare for a point for game pace next year from John Tavares. But I won't prepare for that. Although for what it's worth, Tavares is underlying numbers this year, nearly identical to last year at five on five. But as I prove, we predicted, as I predicted, he was shooting 17% last season at five on five that has regressed closer to his 10%, 11% career average. And that's why Tavares is on a 66 point pace and 71 point pace. And the 82 point season, a couple seasons before that, he had 39 power play points this year.

11:36You can have to round up to say that John Tavares is pacing for 15 power play points, which is obviously not ideal. Tavares is still good. This is age 35 season, though. He's heading into age 36. And so I think what we know about John Tavares is you need something extra to be happening on top of his play, which has been solid, but is also inevitably going to decline. Also minus 26 this year. We don't usually cite plus minus stats. But I think it's sometimes when they're just that that out there. I'm not saying I don't know what it means. But it's you know, when you really piled it up like that, it's just oh, that's okay. That's too bad. Yeah, but look, like Tavares though, like he's the top center on the team now. So step up, step up for me in my fantasy quarter or semi finals. Brian and I both have buys. By the way, for those of you who didn't listen to short shifts this week, I did a squeak by at the end of that matchup at the end of last

12:37week's episode. So it's a bright and I kind of chilling next week, but not really because I'm already thinking about all the drops I need to make, including actually we have an outjury. I'll just jump to that quickly. Troy Terry is apparently back today out of nowhere. It's like, first of all, he got injured out of nowhere. It was like, oh, Troy Terry's not playing today. Like what? Oh, okay. And then he turned out to be out for like two, three weeks. And then just as without any fanfare, he's apparently back today for Anaheim. And I have him on my team. So I already had some ideas of moves I was going to make next week. And I guess now I have to keep in mind that we have to take Terry out of I R first. Do we have an actual updated line combination? So Tampa Anaheim's just started this game today against the Montreal Canadiens. It looks like they're about five minutes in. And Terry is on the top line with Carlson and Criter. And then Grandland was Seneca and Killorne. Okay. Cutter Goche down on the third line with Paling and Veal. I think we're at a point now. We're cutter Goche. I don't really care what line he's on. I'm not worried about it. Like I think he'll probably still figure out how to take 20 shots in the game and like score a couple goals. So we'll see how that all shakes. I don't know. Obviously this will be a new situation where we'll see how Anaheim

13:37figures things out. It's also a big game today for the ducks because John Carlson is coming into the lineup. So this will be really fun. I wish that we had the result of this. We had something to talk about here. But yeah, it's going to be very interesting to follow up. I guess with Anaheim, the main thing is Jackson Lakom has been so hot. 12 points in the last 12 games. We talked about when they acquired John Carlson. How is this going to affect how they deploy the defense? I don't know if there's been a power play yet or not. But I assume Jackson Lakom is going to say there hasn't been one yet. So maybe we'll keep you updated. Champs can let us know in the chat here. If there's any power plays, we can see who's the power play one defensive quarterback. By the Mason-McTavish healthy scratch today to make room for. Choi Terry entering the lineup. That's pretty surprising. I think we already called him a snoozer a couple shows ago. So if you're still holding Mason-McTavish, and that's kind of on you at this point, but that should be maybe the final nail. Unless you think it's one of these things where he's going to be extra motivated to come back and be strong after getting scratched like this. Okay, but one more thing I'll throw to you, Brian. I know I'm talking a lot here. A couple cold streaks. Surprising ones over on Anaheim.

14:40Leo Carlson, pointless in four games going into today. Beckett Seneki, pointless in five games. I know you've got Carlson. I've got Seneki. Are we worried about these guys? Or now is Choi Terry's back? It's all going to be just fine. I mean, I hope. I don't know that Choi Terry, Choi Terry's been good this year. I don't know if he can have that big impact. I agree with you, by the way, on Kato Goche playing with Paling in Ville isn't great, but I'll take Kato Goche anywhere in the lineup. Curious with Mason-McTavish. It seems like a message, right? If Jeffrey Ville and Janssen Harkins are playing in Viterano even ahead of McTavish, then it's like, yeah, I think you messed up, man. I think it's going to be good for you to watch some games from up high. Get a sense of how things work again. As far as Seneki and Leo Carlson, yeah, rough time to go quiet. And I'm scored eight times in their last four games. They were shut out twice and had two four-goal games. So it's kind of been feast or famine. But Carlson and Seneki, really, I'm getting in

15:43on any of it. I don't think this makes Anaheim unique, but I was just checking out their schedule. I made them a little unique, but I don't know how unique. They've had a lot, like, pretty condensed schedule since returning from the Olympics over two weeks now. And they haven't had more than a night off between games since the Olympics. And are playing back-to-back today, the second half, and had another back-to-back about a week ago. That's a lot of hockey. And I'm looking ahead at the Anaheim schedule. After today, they'll have two nights off. So I'm going to hope that Seneki, Carlson, the crew rest well, get some extra sleep and do better, starting as of March 18th, which will be there for a game after two days rest. Yeah, and for you and I, we actually could just wait for even the March 24th before we really care about what they do. But maybe for some others listening, they'll need those guys to go in a little bit sooner. But yeah, so that's

John Carlson and a new team. By the way, John Carlson's old team, Washington Capitals, they've got a replacement coming in. They just signed Cole Hudson. I'm seeing. Who's apparently had this incredible year in college. A lot of people, oh, by the way, the name might sound familiar related to another NHL defenseman named Lane. And I've heard rumblings on some podcast that Cole Hudson might be better than Lane Hudson. I don't know. I'll believe it when I see it. But definitely, I don't think it's like going to make a big impact this year. You know, he's just like going to come in and we'll see what kind of impact he can make. I'm not going to be like, oh, watch out for Jacob Chikren. Cole Hudson's Cole Hudson's coming up for next year. That's going to be a name that we're probably going to be talking about a lot in the offseason. It'll be fun to see what Cole Hudson could do over with a new, you know, spot open for him over on the Washington Capitals, taking over for John Carlson, who we're going to see his first game today for the Anaheim Ducks. But okay, Brian, next injury. Let's go to the Ottawa Senators. We're staying in Ontario and Jake Sanderson, we talked about I think last episode, but we didn't have the full scope of the injury, but we're staying weak to weak. So

He's really excelled with his role that he used to have for many years. As the top power play quarterback and main defenseman on the team, no points so far today, even though Ottawa's beating San Jose 6 to 4. Those five four last time I checked. What a crazy game. San Jose, you know, who's in net for San Jose today, Brian? Yeah, I do. It's Lohan Poua Soi. Yeah, he hasn't played a game. It's like 2024, I think I saw. And yeah, not a great return to the leagues. Letting six goals now on 23 shots. No points, like I said, for Thomas Shabbat, but yeah, the Sands are feasting right now. Not that Linus Almark has been doing much better. Almark had a good game yesterday. Generally team NHL teams. You like you bench, you rest your goalie after they just played the night before, but I guess the Sands decided to be bold. Didn't give Rhymer. Didn't Rhymer get a shout out his last game? Yeah, but like we know if they if they want their best chance to win, it's probably

So I think it's just unfortunately, you know, you don't like to say like, oh, he really benefited from Sanders and being hurt, but like he really did benefit from Sanders and being hurt in terms of fantasy because he's getting that top power play and Shabbat's had some really good games lately, including a score to a couple games going to Anaheim, a couple assists earlier against Seattle. Uh, so anyways, Shabbat's good. Get him in your roster. Here's another name. Someone in Ottawa who's really gotten going after being cold for a little while, Shane Pinto, who still continues to hold deployment. That's not very appealing. Like third line, playing with a Mario Nick Cousins. Like, he's using a Mario on the score sheet. So maybe I'm under rating Michael Amado at this point. Uh, but Shane Pinto is on a little bit of a running at two assists against Anaheim yesterday. He had a one goal to assist game against Seattle while back. Like it's been a good run. And I remember this from earlier in the year where Shane Pinto was going off and just like exploding. And I remember some people made some pretty crazy trades. They're

20:54able to sell really high on Shane Pinto. And I think you and I were like, he seems really awesome, but also if he's not like a top six player, like how much can you really expect? He's not on the top power play, but he's doing it again. I think at this point, if you have Shane Pinto in free agency, we saw what he was capable of before. Isn't it just prudent to go for him and ride it out as long as possible, regardless of his deployment or are you going to say like, no, no, it's going to end tomorrow. Yeah. I mean, that's always the Shane Pinto advice. And honestly, for a three C, you're not going to do much better than Shane Pinto. Um, he's taken two or more shots in all, but one of his last 13 games of Shane Pinto knows how to contribute. He also throws hits. He blocks. He does it all. He's a great peripheral contributor, especially when you're not expecting the points to be coming as they have been lately for Pinto. Um, but a 53 point pace from the third line, uh, and only two power play points to pretty, pretty good stuff from Shane Pinto. But our advice, usually with Pinto is you can try and catch him while he's hot, but it'll likely

22:01Peter out and potentially will Peter at the day you add him, but you'll only know if you try. So if you're looking at some off, if you're looking for offense in a deep enough league, yeah, you could go for Pinto and see if he can give you another few games of this, but we know it never lasts. Oh, and for Tom and for Thomas Shabbat, by the way, replacing Jake Sanderson, I just need to remark on how classic this is this is such classic Thomas Shabbat. He's on the top power play. No power play points, but it's okay. He's just going to get you a bunch of five on five points. Don't worry. Thomas Shabbat is going to get his points, but he will refuse to do it on the power play. Uh, he is playing like one of the reasons he might be picking up a couple more points at five on five. He's playing up not quite a 30 minutes again, but between 25, 28, which Shabbat hasn't really been doing since, uh, Jacob Shikren and Jake Sanderson entered the picture the last few years. Uh, but yeah, Shabbat seven points and seven games entering today. Just don't ask him to get

If I, is it worth holding a Jarrou for this one game against the Rangers, or should I just like take fewer games from someone who's like, you know, more likely to get points? Like, do you have any fate? Like, he's Closureoo. And he's on the top line. It's kind of weird how little he's producing with his, I don't think he's washer. He wouldn't be on the top line, right? Um, I think he's just the best option for the way the Sends want to roll their line up. I would move on, Elon. Like, you're like, he's Closureoo. And I think that's the mistake because like, he has been productive. Sometimes in the later years of his career, uh, but not this one. Like, uh, I wrote in my notes, vomit emoji. If I'm counting on this guy in fantasy, uh, yeah, he might be like top six, you know, line one, a one, b, whatever, uh, second power play playing 13, 15 minutes most nights. In Jerusalem, 11 games, he's only exceeded a single shot on goal once. He randomly took five shots

25:09against Montreal a few games ago, but he's 38 years old. He's in the twilight and, uh, yeah, was you grew the name brand value just isn't there anymore? Like, he's no better or different than other scrubs that like we, you know, regret when we need to bring them into our lineup. Like, Vladimir Tarasenko is another example that comes to mind who like, I think we've fully moved on from expecting anything, anything Tarasenko like from him. Uh, so yeah, I think you can do the same for Klojiru. I see that he got an assist tonight in the 11 minutes he played. Uh, I don't know if that was on the seventh goal because it wasn't there, uh, like 30 minutes ago when I last checked. So Elon, I, please, I mean, you do what you want, but I don't want Klojiru in my playoff fantasy lineup. Okay, I don't know. There's no one else playing that day. Um, I guess there's some Rangers. We'll actually get to a couple a little bit. Uh, but yeah, I guess you're probably right. Shams is saying that Batherson, he needs to be more like Batherson who has two goals today on

I was just they were having visa issues forever, but Seattle traded for McMahon from the Leafs and decided to plop him right on that top line with Benures and Eberley. McMahon also played. I guess they're just rolling like two even power plays at least in that game against Vancouver. So McMahon, it looks like by the names, it wasn't the top power play or like it looks more of a second power play. It was McMahon with Wright, Capocaco, and Ellie Toven, and while there was the other unit, it was Benures, McCann, Stevenson, and Eberley. But regardless, if you look at the actual results, Bobby McMahon,

31:26two goals, one of them on the power play and an assist, four shots, four hits. That's what you like to see. This is the Seattle Kraken. So I know every week we seem to talk about someone new on a hot streak, but look, he's on the top line. He's had a three point game to start. Is this like a pause the pod type of situation? Even if Seattle has like not the best schedule or is it like cool your jets? Don't go nuts dropping someone awesome or someone like okay for Bobby McMahon just because of one good game. Like what's your sense of how this is going to work out the rest of the season? Yeah, I know you know the answer and that's just how you're team it up. This is a cool your Kraken kind of moment for Bobby McMahon. It's not like sure, it's exciting. Two goals, one assist, three points, a power play goal, four shots, four hits, 18 minutes, and Bobby McMahon's Seattle debut. Two things, he plays for Seattle. The other thing, it was against Vancouver. So like let's let's yeah, so like let's see. All right. But what I'm I mean, I'm going to try and

32:30be interested for a minute and say like, hey, maybe if this is a top line, then yeah, Benures, I really have three assists. They get interesting. But I doubt it. And I'm like, oh, so where does Jared McKen fit in all of this? By the way, he's playing with Ali Tollvenon and Chandler Stevenson on what I guess is the second line. McKen's on a 70 point pace, but only four points in his last nine games. He's missed a lot of time for injury this season, 25 games. He's got nine games without a power play point. I have him. And that point's only league that we we talked about earlier. I'm pretty sure I'm about to drop him, especially if this McMahon, Benures, Eberley line seems pretty solidified. Like yes, sure. McKen, McKen, Tollvenon and Stevenson could could find a way to be productive. Like all those guys do go on runs. But I don't know how much I like McKen anymore. Yeah, no, that's fair. I think that the Seattle is hard to get too excited about anyone. And there have been times where McCann was kind of an exception. But yeah, he's not on the top line.

33:34But he seems to be able to produce kind of from wherever he is and like get the production we generally expect from him. But yeah, I think that's something to watch and see. I guess we don't really have as much time to watch and see as we normally would when we're at this point in the season. I am also interested, like you mentioned, Brian and Benures. He has now five points in his last four games after his three points yesterday. Again, it was against Vancouver. So that's boosting the numbers. But you know, there have been times earlier in the season where Benures was looking like, Oh, he's finally breaking out. And then he went super quiet again. And now once again, three goals in his last four games, now a new line mate. So it'll be fun to see if maybe this could be the time where Benures can get some sustained production going. Let's go to our next outtory here over in New York. JT Miller is back for the New York Rangers. He didn't get any points in his return versus the Minnesota wild, but still slotted right in on a line with Cho check and Will Cooley and also on the top power play was a band jet Cho check left for New Year and Adam Fox. I'd imagine JT Miller managers are very excited to have him back for their playoffs, even just because the Rangers have one of the best schedules of the fantasy playoffs. And it would have been so

34:35disappointing to lose out on one of your top picks from that team just because of an injury. So yeah, Miller's back. We'll see how he can do. Like I said, nothing in that game back. But you know, he's not the only interesting New York Ranger. There's a lot of changes in his penair and has left the line up. First of all, turns out Alexis Lafernier is a superstar. After all, I guess he's up to now seven points in his last four games. And that's including going pointless against Minnesota in the four to win. But before that, Lafernier had a goal and an assist against Winnipeg on a hat trick against Calgary. He had a goal and this is versus Philadelphia. A couple of those goals have been power play goals. Lafernier finally be able to produce on the power play. Brian, what is it? Is this 2023-24 again when Lafernier ended the season strong? We were going to the following season thing. And this is it. He's a star now. And then everyone drafted him. And then he was absolutely terrible. Or is this time? Is this time? It's for real. Like I said about Matthias Machelli. Yeah, I feel like the real test with Lafernier here is going to be if he does keep this up the rest of the season. How excited will we permit ourselves to be heading into next season?

35:37I don't I definitely don't think I can be as excited as I was last time Lafernier did this. But he's on a tear for sure. Nine goals in his last 11 games. He had 10 goals in 55 games prior to that. The nine goals in his last 11 games also exceeds half his entire 82 game total from the 24-25 season. He scored these nine goals Lafernier on 28 shots. Three of them coming on the power play, which by the way, he's now up to five power play goals. The most he'd ever scored was three power play goals, which he did in nine games. So hey, you love to see it. He's up around 18 to 20 minutes. He's definitely seeing more time in like the final quarter or third of the season. This rangers iteration that we're seeing in this time. And I would love to see him continue. You know what I give? I give a lot of credit to me because of bandage ad. Honestly, he's really good, huh? And like he's been someone new. Well, I mean, he's been someone who's been

36:39up and down and disappointing at times too over the last few seasons. But I really feel like he's the one super reliable ranger who's getting production, especially now that Penerin's gone. It's like it's a bit for me. I'm looking at the depth chart and I'm seeing and the line combos and I'm seeing who is playing with me because of bandage ad. And right now it's Lafernier, which is great. It's also Gabe Perot. He's having a great time. He's not taking as many shots as Lafernier, but he's in on the action. He was bumped off the power play, the top unit in JT Miller's return. So got a power play assist anyway. But again, I love that Lafernier and Perot are getting some new opportunities. I don't love that Perot's bumped off the top line on the power play, but I like that Perot and Lafernier are both playing with subanage ad at five on five. Yeah. Again, like with the rangers, it's just like anyone doing anything is worth grabbing, especially for us having a buy next week because in the semi finals, almost every team is just like Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and maybe a Sunday. It's like super full on those busy days. And then the rangers just

37:44miraculously have like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday skip every busy day. So any ranger you add, you're getting all four games as opposed to any other player on any team. You're getting two at most and probably just one or zero. So it's like you and I both grabbed Gabe Perot. I think mainly for the schedule. And now it's like, yeah, nice. And he's also just producing as just a viable guy on my roster that I maybe would consider keeping even if he didn't have a great schedule. So it's been a nice bonus. And I hope he'll be able to keep it up even though he's lost his power play time. And yeah, for Lafernier, for sure, I give credits as a bandage ad like a bandage ad as a star player, for sure. I also just think it's cool that like with Panarin gone, it's like maybe Lafernier is going to start being looked at as like, you're one of the leaders on the team. You're not a kid anymore. You're 24 years old. You know, like, I'll be interested to see if next year he can come in and say, no, you're like, you're on the top power play. It's not in question. It's not like you're trying to earn it. Like you're one of our good offensive players. And that will show up, you know, show what you can do. I think about because it's been such a weird, usually first overall picks go to crappy teams, right? It was just like one of these strange things that don't generally happen where he went

38:44to a team that was actually a playoff contender already. And they got Panarin and it was like third line and second power play for most of the first few years of his career. So I, you know, obviously, it's someone we have him in our dynasty. So I'm hoping that it's bright times to come for Alexis Lafernier now that he now the Panarin's gone holding him back or tell me Panarin. By the way, a couple other Rangers I'm looking at right now, Thai Cartier over on the third line has been producing pretty well lately. We talked about on short shows with Brian. I was like, oh, maybe you and I should add them to our dynasty team with Brian. And then we're like, oh, maybe I'll add it at the side of the show. And then before I edit the show, we ended up deciding to just go for an add Thai Cartier after he did score a goal in that game. Then in this, that was against Winnipeg. Then the next game, an assist for Cartier against Minnesota. That brings Cartier to seven points in his last five games. I had imagined if you like dive into it, it's like going to be unsustainable. You're not going to expect a third liner. He's no Shane Pinto, right? You're not going to expect him to keep up this type of production, but he also hits. And again, the Rangers just have a good, really good playoff schedule. Like it's not only the semi finals, the Rangers also play four times

39:45next week. So I don't know. I'm starting to look at Thai Cartier as someone that maybe people should start considering. I'm happy we got him in our dynasty league. On the flip side, Will Cooley's been super cold, but he's still in the top six playing with Cho Check and Miller in the last game. So I know you've been telling me all throughout the season to drop Will Cooley. And I've been to stubborn and never did. So I'm definitely not going to do it now. And I just hope that when the time I've been waiting for this like semi finals, it's going to be when the time comes, he'll do it. The semi finals is going to be a really big moment to see if suffering through the season that Will Cooley's had for you is going to be worthwhile or not. And like, I'm not going to claim to be right when we're like, it could go either way. It's really odds are a little better than a coin flip. I think that he helps you, especially with those four off day games. I don't know if he's any more likely to help you than Thai Cartier, who yeah, as a Ranger has been great. He did nothing in his first few games as a Ranger. But now he's on this five game point streak. Two goals, five assists.

40:47It's taken only six shots over that time. And his minutes are pretty limited, right? No panel, no power play time at all. 13 to 15 minutes of ice each night. But this is, you know, Mason Marchment left Seattle started producing Thai Cartier left Seattle started producing. It feels like, you know, Seattle's one of those teams where if a player leaves and goes somewhere else, I'm curious to see what they look like in a team that allows their players to do a little more offensively. So we'll see what the next few games bring from Thai Cartier. But I'll stand by that comment I just made where I think Cartier has nearly as good a chance as Cooley, if not the same chance of helping you in your semi-final. I mean, look, like if you go based on recent production, it's a no-brainer. If you go based on the line combinations, it also a no-brainer in the other direction because Cooley, like I said, played with Cho Check and Miller and Cartier with Labba and Connor Sherry. Labba's had his moments too.

41:49Is it thanks to Labba? I don't know. Cartier is doing well or vice versa? I don't know. JT Miller is also confusing, right? Like, is it good to play with JT Miller? It should be. But it seems to change like night to night shift to shift. He's been, he's frustrating too. I have him like still in IR, ineligible in a league. Like, and it's a shallow enough lead. I'm like, I want to bring him out. I need to make a couple more moves. But like though, I have to decide if I'm really going to bring him in. Although, I guess, yeah, love. All these guys we're talking about have been better than JT Miller lately. Labba with three goals in his last four as well. Okay, Miller just came back for one game. I'm giving it going into the injury. If I remember right, he was also pretty quiet. Okay. Fair. Yeah. Well, I'm just I'm just fact checking myself. Yeah, he had a couple assists. What in how many games?

42:49Four. He had in four games heading into the break. Okay. Since the Olympics, he has two assists in three games before being injured and then nothing. It's time. And he's taking no shots either. The Rangers do have a good schedule though. So that would be a reason to hold. Yeah. That's a reason to hold for sure. I can get four extra games out of him. All right. So next outjury, Mark Stone. This was another one that was kind of like surprising kind of like a Troi Terry right in C coming at all. Then I was like, Oh, Mark Stone's back today. I was like, Oh, he practiced in a non-contact Jersey that morning. But I guess he healed a lot since then. So nothing in his return versus Pittsburgh. But then yesterday against Chicago to assist in the four nothing shut out. Also four shots from Mark Stone. He's Mark Stone. He's awesome. Went right back to that line with Ikel and Barbershev, which I think is great for a barbershev, getting access to now stone and and Ikel on the line is better than just Ikel and Braden Bowman or whoever else was there. So maybe something to look at. Also, Vegas went back to the five forward power play with

43:50Stoneback. So make of that what you will. We've seen that for a lot of the season at this point. Nothing new. Another name though. I wanted to make a couple other names on Vegas that are interesting me. First of all, on the negative side, Tomash Hurtle is now pointless in four games. I feel like this is a situation where you probably don't drop him though. You're talking about potentially dropping JT Miller. So maybe we're at a point where you have to consider dropping anybody. Like I like Hurtle's deployment. Like he's on the top power play. He's playing it even strength with Marner and Darofi Ev. And he's and he's Tomash Hurtle. I guess you told me I shouldn't say that like he's closed your roof. But I think Hurtle is not that old and he's a pretty good player. So I wouldn't be worried personally. But do you see anything under the hood? Or are you like, we're like, yeah, what's your sense with him? And then on the flip side, I will say Mitch Marner. I feel like a lot of people don't talk about this. It's been like a super disappointing season for Mitch Marner. All I know is whenever I play him in fantasy, he seems to do really well. And Ryan, we're playing him against the Rambling Unicorns. He's on the Rambling Unicorns and our Dinosaur League matchup. And Marner doesn't seem to be having a bad season at all considering he just had two multi-point games in a row up to 10 points in his last six games. So I guess Marner

44:54just saves it for me. But yeah, still I guess up to 69 points in 66 games now, which is an 86-point pace, which is far less than his 100-plus point pace as he's had for the past five seasons. But I don't know. I still think he's really good. I think I expect a strong finish for Mitch Marner. I'll just say. You heard it here. Elon thinks Mitch Marner is pretty good still. And you're right. Elon Mitch Marner still is a very good hockey player. He's on the 86-point pace, but yeah, is maybe about 15 points shy of where we'd like him to see. But if five on five, Marner has been great as great as always. But he's down a minute at five on five. So he doesn't see quite as much ice as he did in Toronto. And the Powerplay points haven't been there to supplement. He's pacing for nearly 25 Powerplay points, but had 33 last year, which I haven't figured out yet if Marner can do better on the Powerplay in Vegas. He's only been involved in 48% of the goals scored while he's on the ice. Whereas in Toronto, he was involved in 60 to 70%. Now, some of that might be how Vegas

45:57runs their Powerplay. Some of that might also be bad luck. So we'll have to keep watching to see what the deal does with that. Ezra Tamash hurdle. You know, Elon, he's still good. I'm looking at his numbers this season. He's on the same point pace he's had for like the last five years, six years even. One thing where he's really been hurting, where he, okay, let me start with the positive. He's got 23 Powerplay points, which ties his career high that he said last year. So he's probably going to break that. The reason why that hasn't been enough to take hurdle over 70 points this season is because his IPP is down. He's less involved in the goal scored while he's on the ice down below 60%, which is unreasonably low. And he's also shooting just five and a half percent at five on five, even though like everything else is held pretty steady compared to previous years where he shoots 10 to 12% on average. So I would expect like, you know, if you go into the draft and you and you see Tamash hurdle falling to the level of a 60 65 point player, I'd still snap him up

47:01because I still think he could be a 70 plus point player over the course of a season. And I think he could still do that over the rest of the course of this one. Yeah, I mean, I guess like we are seeing a new situation for him now with Martyr and the picture D'Ruffi have now scoring all the power play goals. And if that's changing how things work, but in general, yeah, you'd think when you're in on the ice for so many goals, you'd expect to get in on a little more of them. So maybe it's just been a bit of bad luck, which I guess with the IPP, that's always the question, right? Is it bad luck or is it like they've changed the way they play on the ice? But for now, I'd give him more time as well. By the way, one more name I'll bring up on Vegas, Aiden Hill hasn't playing a lot for a while. Looking, they were just alternating games with him and Shmeed, but it's been four starts in a row for Aiden Hill, including a shutout yesterday against Chicago had only two goals against in the win before that versus Pittsburgh. I'll let him two goals against Dallas, the game before that three goals against Edmonton. Like he hasn't been that badly. There was a stretch where it was like this guy is terrible and every game was giving his fantasy managers negatives. And I definitely don't want to be saying I expect him to not give negatives moving forward. That's all behind us because who knows with goalies, but if Aiden Hills out there going into fantasy class and you

48:06want a volume goalie, it seems like he is one right now. Like he's played four in a row. The coach said like he's our starting goalie, so and he's doing well lately. So what else can you, what else can I say, right? Yeah, I think it's good to just point out that he's playing well lately. Let's hope this predicts some positive future results, but Aiden Hill has been anything but consistent for most of this year. So just keep it in the back of your mind. But if someone got frustrated and dropped him, could be a good time to see if he fits on your roster as a free agent. All right, next outjury. I guess a lower level name, but still high level production coming from Gage Gonzalves over on the Tampa Bay Lightning. He missed some time, came back to go right to align with Jake Gensel and Braden Point and not a bad return for Gage Gonzalves because he had a goal against Columbus, two goals against Detroit. And then an assist yesterday in the one, the four two loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. That makes four points in three games for Gonzalves. Like I said, if he wasn't doing it this from like a good line, I'd be like, I need to see more before I'd be interested in this guy. But look, if you're playing with Gensel and Point,

49:07you're that's those are two amazing players who get a lot of points and even strength. He's right there with him. He's producing. I would definitely take a look at Gonzalves going into next week's matchup. If you can fit him in Tampa Bay plays four times. It's a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, which I mentioned on matchup maximizer. Generally is like how many games you're really going to fit in. But if you could fit for the Thursday, Saturday, which is possible, I would be down to get four games from I don't know. I guess it's the second. I guess any line with Kuturov has to be the first line. So then this would be the second line. But it's a good line. He's doing well. So this is a guy I would definitely be interested in over in Tampa Bay. Gage Gonzalves. I concur. Okay. And then some other names there, by the way. So they got Corey Perry, not sure if you recall from the trade deadline. Looks like I already got up to that. So he got up to the top power play. So it even strength. He's not playing huge minutes. But I mean, I'll take a top power play and he did have a power play assist. A couple of games ago against the trade. And I'm like, I said, I'll take like I won't actually. Sorry. Oh, I'll correct myself. I'm not interested in Corey Perry. But I think he's like potentially someone who could do something. But I definitely prefer a Gage Gonzalves, even if he's not on the top power play

50:11at this point. Then a couple negatives to throw at you. Brian. First of all, Brandon Hagel is pointless in three games, which I think is too little to be too concerned about, but just mentioning it as maybe people are sweating a little bit going into their playoffs. And I'll just say like, I wouldn't worry about it personally. I was doing an ad for our sponsor, the gambling company, which I guess you'll hear that ad when he gets inserted when he listened to the show. Probably you probably already heard it. And I was supposed to like look and look at some lines, you know, in comment on it. So I said, oh, look at the Vesna odds. And I said that Vasilevsky is currently the front runner to win the Vesna, according to these gambling odds. And I was surprised because we've had Vasilevsky on our dynasty team. And he's been pretty unreliable over these past few weeks. He hasn't been that good. And yesterday was another example. Three goals against some 34 shots against. That's not terrible. We took the loss against Carolina. I don't know. He's fine, but overrated. I don't know. I don't think that Vesna is going to win the Vesna. Also, I should say Darren Raddish has slowed down a little bit. And again, it's like he, I think

51:13his dad died. He said he missed a game going to his dad's funeral. So that's obviously going to mess with someone as it should. But yeah, he missed that game. Then pointless in the next two games. Again, it's like a very small cold streak. So maybe not to read too much into, but just pointing it out a little bit concerning going to fancy class. If you have like Vasilevsky, Hagel or Raddish, you're not seeing much in the past week. Yes. I agree with you on those counts. I'm trying. So Darren Raddish, I said in our discord and our patrons only discord that I kind of, like for me, that I would take some pleasure. And I know it's not nice. But anyone who got to the playoffs, thanks to Darren Raddish, let's see you win without. All right. Let's see what would happen. That's jealousy. All right. I'm saying straight up. It's jealousy. But it would be interesting to see how well those managers can fare after losing the guy who might have been a huge reason why they ended up where they did. No shade way to go, way to get down Darren Raddish before I did.

52:19And then for Vasilevsky, for Vesna, that's funny. Yeah. No, I wouldn't say so. He's been okay, but not top of the table. I was looking at the candidates. I would pick just based on five on five, say, percentage and Delta Fenwick, say, percentage, like who's, you know, saving the most goals that would have been scored against an average goalie. Logan Thompson, Ilia Sirokin and Jeremy Swaman stood out amongst the group. And interestingly enough, Philip Gruber, Stuart Skinner, and Scott Wedgwood all hanging around to. All right. Well, when you say, when you said Stuart Skinner, now is like, I don't care about the stat anymore. With the small example size. Yeah. Hey, Skinner's been good in Pittsburgh. He wasn't the problem in Edmonton. I don't think so. He's been okay. He had a good, good couple of weeks, for sure. But anyway, yeah. Okay. So of all those names, you said,

53:22I think Sirokin strikes me as like, if I was picking like which goalie I would want on my team for a playoff run right now, I think it's Sirokin. I don't know if that's how you pick a Vezna winner. But yeah, strikes me as just the scariest goalie of the moment. And you look at what he, like he's carrying, like he and Jeremy Swaman are both, you know, working to carry their teams into the playoffs. So, and like the aisles, I think, have really surprised this season. So I'll give Sirokin a lot of credit for that. Yeah. I had Swaman down. I could just bring him up now. I had him down in a hot streak section here. He's been really good this year. And I feel like we haven't talked about him that much on the show. But like Swaman had a really bad year last year, where the Bruins like underperformed. And I remember we put him like not too high. And Schmork-Oli's board was like, oh, maybe good, like sleeper guy. He would have been an amazing guy to get as like you're goalie in the 10th round or whatever, a couple draft. Then he's been incredible. And like, yeah. So I don't really know what there's to say about Swaman at this point. Obviously he'll be drafted higher in leagues next year after a really good season. David Pastor next doing well. Since I'm on Boston, I'll just give you the run down there. This second line

54:24of Arvetson, Zaka, and Middlestat has been really good. Apparently the first line like Pastor Knox doing his thing. He's been awesome. But Elias Lindholm was struggling. And he's been bumped to the third line. So I was going to ask you. And I guess I'll do it right now if maybe Elias Lindholm is potentially a snoozer pointless in four games now off the top line. Maybe he'll get back on it. But even if he does, he wasn't producing there. So that's a name going to a pretty decent playoff schedule. It's not the Rangers, but Boston does have a good playoff schedule as well. I wonder how much Elise should be giving to Elise Lindholm, especially like let's say you have like an Arvetson in free agency. Arvetson seven points in the last six games. Why hold onto Elise Lindholm if you can swap for an Arvetson who's been producing though. I guess Lindholm does get top power play, but he hasn't been doing anything. Yeah, I'm in kind of a flip side situation where I have Arvetson and Lindholm became a free agent. And I was like, oh, and I was like, no, I'm not gonna. I'm gonna stick with Arvets. Like at this point, like I don't know over the course of five, 10 games, whatever's gonna happen. And if it were a 20 game decision, I might make a

55:24different one. But the way Lindholm's playing lately, I, yeah, I'll stick with my Victor Arvetson for now. Yeah, makes sense for sure. By the way, Shams is pointing out that Tampa Bay hasn't scored a lot of goals lately. A lot of one and two goal games for the teams that could explain a lot of these cold streaks. So I don't know if that's like good news or bad news. If you have a struggling hagel or radish, you know, is it like, well, they've sucked. So like no one was getting many points or is it like, what if they continue to not score goals? I don't know. How do you read into that stat, Brian, when you look into a player having a cold streak and then the team has also not been scoring many goals? Yeah. Well, you know, I mean, I did that already this episode for Anaheim, right? Where it was like, oh, yeah, a lot of guys I called, but the teams only scoring two goals per game. So that, to me, might explain why people aren't getting points. So I'm not going to judge a player based on when their team is all cold. I'll wait till they're starting to score some more goals. I'm not sure how intentional the strategy. This is by Tampa to like not, like if we saw that they were shifting to become like a defense for a second and third type team,

56:29that would be something else, but I also don't get the sense that that's true either. Okay. Okay. Fair enough. Fair enough. Let's go next to the St. Louis Blues. Have an outjury. Colden Paraco is back. He hasn't done too much. I don't know what there is to say about Colden Paraco, but I do want to talk about the Blues, who by the way, first of all sticking with defense, we spent a long time after that Justin Falk trade talking about like a sick Broberg or Mayu, who's interesting. And you said like, I don't know, Broberg top power play still doesn't interest me much. Mayu, maybe we'll see turns out we blew it because we should have just mentioned Cam Fowler because he's the one who's been going off lately. Cam Fowler now has seven points in the last six games going into his game today against Winnipeg, which I guess is over now. And he didn't get a point to make that seven points in his last seven games. I will say he's kind of like a machelli for me, like even when he's producing, I'm like, yeah, but I'm not going to add Cam Fowler, am I? So I would need us both to turn the key before we're getting excited about Cam Fowler on keeping Carlson. But again, seven points and seven games. That's that's pretty good. It's pretty

57:34good. But I'm with you. I'm going to I'm going to need more to be excited by Cam Fowler. But you're right. We have to give him credit. He was hiding in plain sight while we talked about Logan Mayu. I'm trying to see. I think this was easily his most effective stretch of the season. I'm not even seeing he hadn't pointed. Okay, he pointed in consecutive games January 23rd and January 24th. Other than that, he hadn't done that once this season before going on the six game points streak that I think is over because the game against Winnipeg is over. Yeah, it's over. But nice little run there for Cam Fowler. Elon, would you still prefer Logan Mayu? Look, I don't want either of them. St. Louis only plays also two times next week. So I think you dump your St. Louis defenseman. Then we can reassess when St. Louis plays more games later on in the playoffs. You don't need to be holding anyone though. You do need to be holding on to I think unless you'll tell me if you disagree. Even though it's frustrating that the Blues only play two times next week and

58:34a playoff matchup, but there's no way at this point. You can drop the top line of Rob Thomas, Dylan Holloway or Jimmy Snuggaroo. These guys have been insane. Thomas is now up to 14 points in his last 10 games, even though he didn't get a point against Winnipeg. Holloway now nine points in his last seven games and scored a goal and had six shots in the game today. And then Jimmy Snuggaroo, who probably people got out of free agency like just a week ago or so. Maybe now he's probably taking everywhere. If not, I would say pause the pot. And I don't just say pause the pot going to playoff matchup for a guy playing only two times, but 10 points in Snuggaroo's last six games. He's shooting a lot. He's doing. He's kind of looking at like the stat line, seeing a little cutter gochie-esque like a light light cutter gochie. I don't know. Tell me if that's too crazy. I see a shot game there, which jumps out to me. I'm really into all those three. And the only one that's likely available to you is Jimmy Snuggaroo. So I would take a look also getting top power play time. The top power play has basically been those three. Pavel Buchnyiewicz and then yeah, like Groberg or some defense and that doesn't do it. Yeah, it was Groberg last game. So that's a reason to let go of my U2. If you're just like holding out hope. But I am with you, Elan. We've talked

59:38a lot this season about how Robert Thomas might be the only roster ball. St. Louis Blue, Agile Hofer to that mix and at Jimmy Snuggaroo and Dylan Holloway to that mix. I will hold them for their two games thinking that they I think it's pretty possible the rate they're going that they will outperform a streamer who gets to play one or two more games than they do. Both this upcoming weekend and the one that follows. Yeah, for what it's worth. If you make it to the finals, St. Louis has a good schedule that week. I believe it's a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. So something to look forward to, but you have to make it there. Of course, on the flip side going into a two game week, I don't know what I'd be doing with a Jordan Cairo who is not on that top power play. It is not on that line is now on a cold streak of only one assist in his last four games, or you can say two points in his last nine games, depending on how you want to look at it, it doesn't seem to be working for Jordan Cairo. So he would be a tough guy for me to hold going into a two game week on this cold streak and not on the Rob Thomas line or power play.

1:00:40Agree. I think he's been streaky enough. Like show you might kick yourself up for two games. I think you just I think you have to cut him loose. Yeah, I remember Lewis dropped it from his couple team a while back and I remember thinking like I don't know if I do that and then after he dropped Cairo Cairo was doing well. I hope Lewis made the playoffs. I know he's like in a must win week this week, so we should probably check but hopefully he made it and then he can be like satisfied that he did at least make the right call for the weeks that are going to matter the next three weeks. Okay, so that is St. Louis. Yeah, you mentioned Joel Hofer, though to be fair, Biddington's also been really good lately and Biddington did get the start today, so I know like you and I think that the St. Louis Blues should just be rolling Hofer more often, but I don't know if they're actually going to be doing so. I have Hofer and a couple and I'm hoping that he can get like that in that semi-finals St. Louis plays three times. I would really like if Hofer can play two of those times if Biddington plays the first game, I'm going to be sweating a little bit. I have to decide whether I'm going to hold Hofer just for a potential only Thursday game and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday match up, but I'll hold on for now and hope for the best because every time he's played, he's been incredible.

1:01:44Hofer is up to in his last six games, he's 501 with a 948 save percentage. He's been insane. Congratulations, not even a good team. Not even a good team, although it seems like St. Louis is playing a loser lately than they had been before. I think we talked about it after the trade deadline, right, that sometimes teams can loosen up and just let their hair down a little bit. So I think Joel Hofer and maybe some of the other St. Louis Blues are reaping some of the benefits of the trade deadline and all rumors about player movement being behind them. Yeah, that's fair. Okay, so let's do our next outtory here. Another defenseman, I brought up Pareko. I didn't really talk about him in that much, but Mikhail Surgachev missed some time for the Utah mammoth, but he's back and he played against Chicago and got an assist. And then he played against Pittsburgh, didn't get a point, but still overall Surgachev had been pretty good before he got injured, so you're excited to slot him back in. You know, right back on the top power play there with Keller, Schmaltz, Gether, and of course, Barrett Hayden, who it's like, ah, frustrating because he's taking that spot that Koolie or Paterka could be taking, but I guess Hayden wins those face offs, doesn't get any points, but he's clearly there for a reason.

1:02:59So yeah, not too much advisable there. Like, I guess it is interesting to take a look at what's been going on with Mackenzie Weeger. Like in that last game against Pittsburgh, it looks like Surgachev was top power play. Jersey was second power play, got like 30 seconds of power play time. Mackenzie Weeger got no power play time, and he is now pointless in four games, Mackenzie Weeger. Not that many shots, not that even that many blocks, or I don't know. I wonder if Mackenzie Weeger has become, it's tough to say, but this trade really didn't work out too well for him. And I do wonder if maybe he's someone holding you back, and you could potentially do better out of free agency, which is pretty crazy. And I wouldn't be surprised if he could at least up those peripherals, but I would be considering dropping Mackenzie Weeger. I'm curious what you think about him right now. Yeah, I'm also not seeing a whole lot of reasons to want to hold on to Mackenzie Weeger for, you know, all of what you described. He's just not needed the same way. I think Utah is, I mean, he's playing on the top pair with Mikhail Surgachev.

1:04:00And he's playing big minutes still like over 20 minutes a night and all, but one of his games is a mammoth so far. But again, it's not that he's not needed. I just think he might, maybe he's not needed in quite the same way. Or maybe he's like Colton Paraco. Yeah. And maybe it's also too soon to tell. I mean, one thing that's clear about Weeger in Utah. He's not even on the second power play. He gets zero power play time. He still has the PK role, but in Calgary, he was getting, you know, well, they have their news on power play one, two, one A, one B, whatever. Utah, none of that. And that always helped him, you know, put up a couple points, couple shots. And that, that opportunity's gone in Utah. So I agree, Elon, I think Mikhail Surgachev, ought to be on snoozer watch if the limited peripherals he's offering don't increase. And that's not enough to help your team. Yeah. And I mean, hey, it's no Austin Matthews injury, but still like must be pretty frustrating if you drafted this guy in like the fourth or fifth round of your draft.

1:05:05And now you're considering dropping him going into your fantasy playoffs. So sorry to the Mikhail Surgachev. Because that was a bad draw, getting a guy who ended up getting traded to Utah like that. Not that he was doing incredible in Calgary, but it was pretty good for stretches. I should mention Nick Schmaltz by the way, Brian got an eight by eight contract extension as a 30 year old. I didn't know that Schmaltz. I mean, good for him. For sure, he's having a good season 59.67 games. I have him in a cap dynasty league where once the contract starts, I'm going to be on the hook for this contract unless you buy him out. And you have to pay the whole penalty, depending on his contract, which is quite high. It's going to be a tough decision over the summer, whether to hold on to Nick Schmaltz. Like, I guess at this production, he's worth eight million. If he's a bit like a 70 point guy, but I don't know, as he gets to be 34, 35, 36 years old. I don't know. The contract might look rough though. I guess the cap is going up. So maybe because I'm thinking for fantasy, but also for the Utah man with themselves. I wonder if they're worried that it's going to look bad later. Or maybe they're like, yeah, by then eight million is going to seem like what four million is now. And he'll still be worth it. Yeah, I feel like it's, I mean, you have to pay to, you'll have to buy some sub prime years to be able to keep a player round.

1:06:13And there's so few options out there that Schmaltz, I think, holds a bit of a hammer in this kind of situation. 72 point pace this season. It's the third time in five years he's paced for 70 plus points, the other couple season 63 points. So it's, you're not going to lose. Yeah, I don't think you're going to be tossing away money on Nick Schmaltz. But my feeling is like right now he's getting paid just about six million. I feel like eight million is going to feel like six million. At least by the, if not at least by the time that Schmaltz is finishing in the twilight of his career, if not sooner. Yeah. By the way, on Utah, I will mention Schmaltz is kind of cold right now in Keller. They're both pointless in three games for what it's worth not enough to get to upset about yet. But Dylan Gunther has been going off two goals yesterday, six goals, three assists in his last seven games. So Dylan Gunther as the great season continued. I remember like he got drafted higher than I expected him to in my couple draft. I remember I was expecting him to go in the fourth round. And I would take him then and I ended up getting taken to the third round.

1:07:14And I was, I regretted not just jumping on him sooner. And I still continue to because Gunther is having a great year. And I'm curious, he's now up to a 73 point pace. We'll see how he does when it's all said and done and what people are going to be expecting from Gunther next year when he goes into only his age 23 season. But okay, let's go to our next outtory here. Travis Kineckney is back for the Philadelphia Flyers hasn't done too much yet. Only one goal and no assists in his four games since returning. But obviously if you have Kineckney, you're just getting in your roster and hoping he'll do well. I don't think you can really get too nervous about a star player like him. There is a guy on Philly. I just wanted to mention playing on a line with Kineckney and Christian Dvorak, a new player in the league named Alex Bump, who now has three points in five games after scoring a goal yesterday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Brian, who the heck is Alex Bump? Should we be interested in this person? Yeah, well, I need to not confuse him. Do you remember Alex True?

1:08:15Yeah, it's another Alex, whose last name is a real word. And you asked me about like in very early stages of his career. Alex Bump, fifth round pick, 133rd overall, picked by the Flyers in the 2022 NHL entry draft. He's 22 years old out of Minnesota this season, which is his first full pro season. Not bad, 26 points and 36 NHL games with the Leahy Valley Phantoms, 11 of those points were goals. It's like no huge pedigree here, Elon. He had a good college career, but at Western Michigan University, which I don't think counts as one of like the premier destinations. There's not a lot to go on aside from that. I guess he's someone you can keep watching. I guess my like question and return is how many how many flyers can we have we? I don't know. How many guys have we really seen develop in Philadelphia over the last however many years?

1:09:20I mean, that's fair. Meets golf was in free agency in my couple differentions last week. And like Owen Tippett has had nonlinear progress. Like Zegris has been a bit of a revelation this year, but he was maybe closer to a finished product and higher pedigree. So I don't know. It's new to me to see Philadelphia flyer like evolving into gaining relevance in his career. And like they've had like Cates in Fariby and all these other Morgan Frost, these guys that we were hoping would become something and didn't. It's not say Alex Bump won't, but just maybe it's a bit more of an uphill climb for him compared to most. That's that's it. That's all I got on Alex Bump. Okay. Well, someone to keep an eye on. Like I don't think he's like someone you grab right now and don't want nearly maybe in a dynasty. Take a look if he's out there. That's minor's eligibility seems like he's doing better than what you'd expect from a fifth round pick, getting top six deployment and producing a little bit here. Another young prospect that's been called up, though it looks like he got called up and then got injured in the same game.

1:10:23Igor Chernashovs, that's two bags. He was on the top line with Celebrini and Will Smith for a moment, but looks like Chernashov has a concussion and didn't play today for San Jose's game against the Ottawa Senators. So that meant that Colin Graf got right back up on the top line with Celebrini and Will Smith and Colin Graf scored a goal today, which is his third day in a row or third game in a row with the goal. So I think once again, I'm into Colin Graf like as like Celebrini. I don't know how much more we can say about McLean Celebrini, but what is he up to now? Is he up to 100 points yet 95 points in 65 games, 35 goals. So he's probably going to get like 110, 115 points by the time the season's over. He's insane every game. It's like a multi-point game. Actually, only one assist today. That's actually very strange that San Jose scored four goals today, and only one assist from McLean Celebrini. I'm assuming that's the point that Colin Graf scored the goal. I was just about to ask if you had the back score of, is that the Graf goal? Yes, exactly, yeah. Graf from Celebrini and Sam Dickinson, who's a very high pedigree defense prospect.

1:11:24I don't know what are people thinking about Sam Dickinson right now. Is he still the future power play quarterback, defenseman for the team? But regardless, Colin Graf becomes interesting, of course. I see Wenberg was hurt today also, so or didn't play like he was hurt going into the game. I don't know if we haven't update yet on how serious this Alex Wenberg injury is, but Alex Wenberg, he's kind of like a Barrett Hayden, and that he's taking a top power play spot, even though he's not someone really worth rostering in most leagues. So with Wenberg out of the picture, it's almost like nice to see who got the opportunity and look at that. It's William Eklund, who got PP1 today. And I know you were just saying on a recent show how like it's been frustrating that Eklund hasn't been able to get there. So I guess for what it's worth, he was there, didn't get any points, only two shots. So we'll see what happens in the next game for the San Jose Sharks. They did lose 7-4. I don't know how much of that was to be blamed on Laurent Braswa, who didn't have an amazing outing. But yeah, right now, I'd be interested in obviously Eklund on the top power play is good. I like Graf on the top line, and Tyler Tafoli had a good game.

1:12:25I don't know, scored a goal hadn't assist. I know that Tafoli also, because I watched the Habs game yesterday. Hazard says San Jose and Tafoli went pointless, but he did assist on a celebrity goal that ended up getting called back. For what it's worth because of one of these offside calls from like a minute before. So some interesting sharks, for sure. They're a high scoring team, they're doing well. Yeah, some interesting sharks. I feel like you summed it up pretty well. And we talked calling Graf on the last episode also, where we said, yeah, we like him with celebrity. And that's pretty much the deal. Yeah, so maybe go get him. I don't know. The thing is San Jose schedule isn't too incredible. They play next week only Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, which are like light-ish days. But maybe you have better options in the following week again, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. So yeah, too hard to get like too excited about a shark in terms of the schedule. But calling Graf is like, but also who knows if he'll stick on the top line. Maybe sure to shop comes back soon and gets that shot again. We'll have to wait and see. Yeah, actually, I will just one add one player in Tennessee who you haven't mentioned yet. And that's Alex Nadalkovich who has been playing pretty well.

1:13:27And we don't have a whole lot of information about Escarov. And when he'll be back, right? Like he's sort of out. And I get the sense that maybe they're going to take, I mean, San Jose is in a place where they could push for a playoff spot. But I also assume they don't want to try any funny business, especially if Nadalkovich playing well. So if you're looking for a starter, like in the leagues that I might even be looking for a starter, he's out there. And I think he could be an interesting pickup towards the end of the season, especially if you've been rolling with one or two spot starty goalies through most of your season. This is your chance if you want to try and find a starter. Yeah, I mean, it's worth a shot next week for what is where San Jose plays Edmonton and Buffalo on Tuesday and Thursday. So kind of scary starts, but maybe it could work out. As you recall, Brian, last week, I streamed into Nadalkovich for a game where he gave me negative points and almost cost me that critical matchup. So he left the bad taste in my mouth the last time. But I even streamed in Philip Gruber for a couple of games this season.

1:14:28So even I'm able to get over past gripes if it looks like someone might be able to turn things around. Speaking of goalies, Jacob Fowler got the game today for the Habs after winning his first game after getting called up. So it looks like Montenbo was just out of the picture completely. And it's now just going to be a matter of who's going to get starts between Dobesh and Fowler. So far, it's been too straight back to backs this week for the Habs. So we haven't gotten a sense of who they would play if they had two games without, you know, with a rest in between. So we'll have to find out if the Habs are planning on just like alternating now, Dobesh and Fowler for a bit. Or if one of them is going to get the bulk of the starts so far today. It's 2-2 for Anaheim versus Montreal. So we'll see how this game finishes off. Leo Carlson, Brian, another goal. And another assist for Triteri. So here we go. All right. I, for what it's worth. I mean, before you even said the score, I was going to say, I think the Habs won a role with Dobesh as their starter and Fowler is just there because they really can't trust Montenbo.

1:15:29And they knew they needed someone else on the back to back. But it looks like Fowler gave a goal seven and a half minutes in and then 30 seconds into the second period. Anaheim's taken, I mean, you'll know more, right, when you're listening to this. Anaheim scored twice on 15 shots. So I don't think Fowler's there to steal starts from Dobesh. I think he's there to spell Dobesh. And there's a chance Dobesh plays badly enough that it's like, oh, Fowler's looking pretty good. It's all up in the air, but if I had to guess what direction the Habs are planning to take. It's Dobesh starts, you know, say two out of three or even more the rest of the way down the stretch so long as he can handle it. Yeah, and I mean, who am I to like, I have no idea. Like what you're saying, like I respect your opinion, but also I think we both know that I'd imagine your level of confidence isn't like 80% here, right? It's like, that's your hunch of what they'll do. Yeah, it's like a 50, 51% hunch. How about that? Yeah. Yeah, no, that's where I am as well, but I do agree with you. It would make sense for them to run with Dobesh see what they have going into the playoffs if they can trust the sky or not.

1:16:33So the Florida Panthers had some outjuries, but also some injuries. I just don't even know what to do here with the Florida Panthers. So here, I'll just give you a rundown. Lundell and Verhaegi are back in today after missing a game. Sam Bennett, day to day. Do we have lines for today? It's March 15th. Yeah. So oh, Sham's just retweeted recently. So the line's day. Looster, Ryan and Lundell and Kachuck. Bennett, I guess, isn't playing. Yeah, I don't know. At this point, Sam Reinhardt is not in the lineup. I feel like if you have any Florida Panther, I'd be nervous going into these next few weeks. Seems like they're just already going into silly mode. Like I said at the start, Brad Marshall. I think we still don't have any idea. Like is he coming back this season? Or is he just going to take the rest of the season off? The last treat we have is no final decision made yet on Brad Marshall. And that was yesterday. So final decision for what? That was my question to you. Was that about the one game or about the rest of the season? I have no idea. I don't know what's going on in Florida.

1:17:33I think that this might be a game by game. Looks like on the positive side for where Seth Jones is potentially coming back soon. Maybe next week. The latest tweets at Seth Jones likely returns on this trip. So what is this trip? Florida plays at Vancouver at Emton at Calgary next week. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. So we'll see. I don't know. Just don't bank on Panthers, but maybe you'll get lucky. And one of your Panthers players comes back when you need them. And we'll see how the game works out today. They're currently losing one nothing to the Seattle Kraken. We're seven minutes into the game. So I don't have a question for you about Florida. And then I guess one final outtory here before we get some hot and cold streaks. Crosby is practicing. Maybe we'll be back soon. I don't think we have a definitive answer. But we do know that if getting Malcolm has served his suspension. I believe it's been five games. So he'll be back next week, just in time for the quarter finals. 1:18:35Because like this isn't, uh, this isn't like guesswork here. Okay. I will check my math. Balkan missed one, two, three, four, five games. He's missed five games. And it was a five game suspension. I'm going to lock it in. Balkan Monday. It's happening against the Colorado avalanche. Crosby, I don't know yet. You're calling your shot. Yeah. I mean, Crosby's the one where we could be like, oh, maybe I'll be back. I'm not sure. We'll see if he's, you know, done what he needs to recover. Chinatown has been great. Yeah. And so is Anthony Manta still producing six points in his last four games. Uh, most of those goals, four goals in four games. Uh, of course, on 11 shots. But at this point, I feel like that's been Anthony Manta's season. Uh, he's shooting 20% this year. He shot, like he shot 20% two years ago. Also, when he's split time between Vegas and Washington, I don't before that in his entire career. Anthony Manta was like a 12% shooter top.

1:19:37So I don't know that he suddenly unlocked something new or different. But it is super interesting. If you add up like his last say 150 games, he's shooting like 22%. Uh, that's, it's a small sample. It's like 250 shots. But he's doing it. So I'm, I'm not going to doubt him at this point. 63 point pays for Anthony Manta. Uh, he did recently, well, with his most recent goal, Manta tied his career high with 25 goals, which he set. Yeah, back in Detroit, 2018, 19. He had 25 goals in 67 games. This time around he has 25 goals in 66 games. And I assume he'll break it before this season's done. I'm curious to see, like for me, with Crosby and Malcolm out, it was like, okay, what can the supporting cast maintain? And Manta and Chinacov maintaining. So we'll see how Crosby and Malcolm returning impacts them when we were actually more concerned about how them leaving would impact them.

1:20:39Yeah, that's a very good point. And yeah, I think Chinacov, my guess is Chinacov is going to be the one that's going to be fine. And yeah, it'll be fun to see the deployment and the power plays. Yeah, whatever. What is back? Let's take a break. We'll come back. I got some fun hot streaks for you. So Brian, let's start our hot streaks over in Nashville, where they're not going to be making the playoffs. It doesn't look like, but it is fun to see what we've been seeing from Matthew Wood, who is not a nobody, right? He was a 15th overall pick back in 2023, getting his first big opportunity in the league this season. And he had a run earlier in the year. Remember, he had a hat trick back in November that we were excited about. But all of a sudden, lately, we're at five points in the last four games for Matthew Wood. Looks like Nashville's playing Edmonton right now, so I don't have the final result here. But this is a guy playing on a line with Marsha Soe and Reed Schafer.

1:22:40So I don't know if that's like the bottom six. I get it's not incredible deployment for Matthew Wood, but at this point, he does seem to be getting points every game he scored against Vancouver in the last game. Assist versus Seattle the game before that. A goal versus Buffalo the game before that. A couple goals against Boston, the game before that. So Matthew Wood is interesting, or if you want, you get your choice for Nashville of who you want to grab. If you want to grab a predator, you can go, it sounds so weird that they're called the Predator's brother. Right? If you want to grab a predator. You want to grab, well, when you say grab and predator in the same sentence. Yeah, exactly. Okay, but you can go wood or another player that kind of interests me at the other end of his career. Jonathan Marsha Soe, who I know people are going to like roll their eyes and go, I don't want him. He stinks, but look, like Marsha Soe has been playing. I like for today's game online with Wood and Forrestbrook. Actually, Wood, forget those lines I just told you. That was just like early line comedy, so that was on Frozen Tools. According to the tweet from the beat writer going into today's game was, yeah, Forrestbrook, Wood, Marsha Soe. It's a great spot for Wood, but also a great spot for Marsha Soe, who's generally been on the top power play. I'm assuming he hasn't been bumped from that.

1:23:40And going into today, Marsha Soe was on a little run. Three assistants, last three games. Nothing incredible. But if you've got a guy playing with Forrestbrook and on the top power play, that's generally someone I'd be kind of interested in. Brian, any interest in either or both of Matthew Wood or Jonathan Marsha Soe going into a fantasy playoffs if they're out there in free agency? I mean, I've been so conditioned to not care about Jonathan Marsha Soe or anything he does. So I'm really tempted to just say no thanks to Marsha Soe. Matthew Wood is someone that we have been actually a little more interested in this season at times than Jonathan Marsha Soe. He's all goals, lately four goals in his last four games heading into today. Those four goals came on 11 shots. Yes, that's almost, I think that is exactly what we said about Anthony Menta. Hey, if he's getting a bit of a bump in deployment, I'm interested. He's generally played like, he's been up and down between eight and 12 minutes most of the season. He's still only playing, like you can only count on 11 or 12 minutes

1:24:41a night from Matthew Wood still. Whereas Marsha Soe played 17. So look, my heart says Matthew Wood. My head says Jonathan Marsha Soe. And I think that's where I'll land. Ryan O'Reilly, little colder lately. I'll just point that out. Like he's still. Foresburg also. Yeah, Foresburg has been colder. O'Reilly has been like productive, but just not in the same way we've become accustomed to. You know, who's still producing is Steven Stamcoes. He's. Yeah, what is he is? 63 point pace is what he's up to this season. If you not get the first quarter, I'm not going to calculate it right now, but better, better than 63 point pace. So what a find and free agency for those of you who picked him up at the right time. Yeah, and he'll be a fun guy to try to project next year. I hope people are good to be drafting Steven Stamcoes high. I feel like there's a lot of people who drafted Steven Stamcoes high-ish. This past season, that feel like it was one of their worst picks. And now hating, seeing someone else getting that production from Stamcoes.

1:25:42So it would be tough to do it again. Maybe for those of us who grabbed him out of free ages, you'll be like, oh, I'll take Stamcoes. But it'll be neat to see where he ends up getting drafted. We still got the rest of the fancy playoffs to go to see what Stamcoes can do for the rest of the season. Let's go to another younger player over in Dallas. How about Maverick Bork? He's been playing on the top line with Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson to pretty incredible linemates. And Maverick Bork quietly ate points in his last seven games. He had an assist yesterday against Detroit and assist against Edmonton the game before. A couple of multi-point games before that against Chicago and Colorado. This is not a nobody also, just like Matthew Wood, a first round pick a late first. But I remember that then he went into the AHL after he got picked and like really opened a lot of eyes, like leading the AHL points or something. It was last year there. And now Maverick Bork has come to the NHL. It's had a quiet start to his career. Only 25 points in 73 games last season. Nothing noteworthy this year until this current run. And at this point, it's like, it's not generally too hard.

1:26:42I feel like to do this job of doing a fantasy hockey podcast. And you have like, okay, he's on the top line. He's got eight points in seven games. Kind of interesting. I don't know even what Brian could say. He's also been cold for a long time and he's not established. But how can you not be somewhat interested? I'd be more so interested. I think that Matthew Wood, just because he's playing with Jason Robertson and Y. Johnston. I agree. That's an amazing company for Maverick Bork, who has had his moments. And honestly, more often than not, throughout the last, say, quarter of the season. Yeah, he's gone a few games without points here and there. Actually, but really, over the last 13 games, he hasn't gone Maverick Bork consecutive games without a point, which is a nice feather in his cap. And definitely the most consistent production we've ever seen from Maverick Bork. Some of those games, they're a while ago now, but he had five shots in. But for me, Elon, the big sell is that he's playing with Y. Johnston and Jason Robertson on the top line.

1:27:45And he's consistently seeing 17, 18 plus minutes a night when, for most of the season, especially the first half, he was seeing like 11 to 15 minutes nights. This is a real bump in minutes, a real bump in linemates. And the production has followed from Maverick Bork. So yeah, I'm interested, like, I'm trying to situate Maverick Bork versus like Jamie Ben, who, you know, has more name value and has been similarly a productive, like Ben hasn't gone consecutive games without a point now. Also, in 14 games, it was pretty cold. During that stretch, he went many consecutive games without a point. But Ben is playing fewer minutes with Dushane and Sam Steele. So between the two, I think I'd prefer Maverick Bork. But that has the top power play. Yeah, the floor for Ben is better, but I mean, even with the power play, Ben has five power play points this season in 44 games.

1:28:45They've all come in the last 12 games, all five of those power play points. Now's the time to go after him. And yeah, that does coincide. I'm just checking in almost exactly with his arrival on the top power play. Okay, so that makes sense then. Yeah, okay. I think it's close. I think it's close. I don't know. I'm going to call them roughly equal. I would definitely take Ben ahead. I just feel like Ben is not available to most of us. Like, also, I just think Maverick Bork is on the top right now. But I think he has a lot more of a precarious... You're right. Like, he can go back to the bottom six. You're right. I think Ben's pretty locked in. I'm going to join you there. Ben has stickier deployment. He's more likely to hold what he's got than Maverick Bork. So, okay. All right. You talked me down. But okay, but we don't have to choose between Ben and Bork. At least for me, I got Bork in free agency. Ben is not in free agency. So, I don't have to compare them. I'm just interested in Maverick Bork. Because if someone wants to give me Jamie Ben, though, I'll take him. But okay. So, next young player.

1:29:45This is someone I wanted to check back in with you. And it's been a few weeks now. So, we get to see what Luke Hughes is doing over in New Jersey. And he's been doing pretty well since he came back from his injury. We're now at... What are we here? Six points in seven games since returning. Five points in his last five games. For what it's worth. He had a couple of really big high shot games in a row. There it is. Actually, if you look at his shot count. So, yesterday against L.A. Not much. Just one shot. He did pick up an assist for what it's worth. Luke Hughes. Before that, the shot counts were five, four, four, four. Kind of doing what you would want from a stud defenseman with a super high pedigree. That was drafted fourth overall in 2021. We're considered one of the top prospects in the league for a couple of years. I think that Luke Hughes is starting to have that strong end to the season that we saw last year as well. We'll see if he keeps it up. But I like Luke Hughes. I wish I had him. But I don't. Anywhere. But yeah, he's looking really good right now. Same. Fourth quarter, Luke Hughes showing up again. Yeah, hopefully next year he could just stay healthy. We could see we could do for a full season.

1:30:45Hopefully he and his brother can stay healthy. And we can just see what these players can do on New Jersey with a fully healthy squad for a whole season. We'll see if it can happen. The next young player I want to jump on is Frank Nasar over in Chicago who was also injured for a while, missed some time. And before he got injured, he was kind of cold. We weren't sure exactly what we were going to see when he returned. He's been great. We're looking at eight points now in the last six games for Frank Nasar. He's back on the top power play. And it looks like three of these eight points in the last six games have been from the top power play. Also, Nasar is not playing with Bedard. But I would say playing with much better linemates aside from Bedard. Like he's got Bertuzzi and Tara Vineen. Well, Bedard has been playing with Ryan Green and Andre Burakowski. So I guess they said, Bedard, you're good enough. You can play with other guys. We're going to give Nasar our two other best wingers here. And yeah, Frank Nasar is definitely also someone I think is probably not available in Fragency. If he is, I think he'd be a positive odd guy to me. I would be really surprised if you could do better than him in Fragency.

1:31:45And a lot of leagues at this point. And Nasar is also going to be a fun guy to try to project next season. Because he's been a bit up and down overall. So when it comes down to just a 52 point pace, but I have a feeling he's more than a 52 point player next year. I think I would expect to be more like a 65-ish point player. But that's just my current gut feeling. We'll have a fun summer to look into it. Yeah, Nasar has been amazing. I agree. Go ahead and pause the pod to add him. He's back to being as exciting as he was at the start of the year. When Nasar first made that impression on us. And yeah, I think he's absolutely draftable next season. My curiosity is, will he ever get to settle on the line with Connor Bedard? And I think the early answer is not a five on five. I'm not expecting Nasar to be on the line with Bedard next season. So I'm looking for Chicago to keep adding to their forward ranks and developing so that Nasar does have some... Like right now, Bertuzzi and Tara Vinein. It's like when we said Bedard was going to get to play with those guys.

1:32:46It's like, finally, he's got so many others to play with. So it's kind of funny that they end up being Nasar's compliments, rather than Connor Bedard's. But I'd still like, he's doing great. He's going to take a step forward. I would like to see his teammates get a little better too. Yeah, it kind of reminds me of Celebrini and Michael Misa in San Jose. I'd imagine they're just never going to play with each other. And we'll see how good Misa can be as a second line center. I'd guess pretty good. And I think that Nasar's going to be pretty good over in Chicago. A bribe, I lay some scoreboard watching. Mattias Michele assisted on a goal from Morgan Riley. So we totally, I guess, called that... Well, we did say that Michele is someone to look at. We also said that Morgan Riley. What was it on the path? Sorry, did you say it was not the path strength? I mean, from Michele and Tavaris. Okay. Even strength. Also, I'm seeing Bo Grul scored again. We called him out earlier in the show. I think we just... I think it's Groo. Do you know that it's Groo? I don't know. I see an L there. But maybe it's Groo. It's French. Oh, I got you.

1:33:46Groo. We don't know. We should be putting him in our lineup in Dynasty. We... He's doing this from our minor spot right now. We could use this goal. What are we doing? Well, there's a Max Games play limit. It's only we can just play every game. I think at this point, I'm making the executive decision here. Groo is getting in on all of his three games next week. I want these Groo games with his hits. He's scoring goals now. Come on. Good job for this guy. Now I kind of want to look at more scores here. Montreal is now up 3-2 against Anaheim. Troy Terry just scored. It's 3-3. What a return for Troy Terry. What a return for Troy Terry. I would have put him in my lineup if I knew what was happening. I turned on the podcast with Brian. And then someone wrote in the chat or something like, Oh, Troy Terry is back today. Or maybe you said Brian, Troy Terry is back today. I was like, Oh, look at the time. It was 701. Oh, well. That was good for him. Yeah. Good job. Here's a name. I'm excited to throw this hot streak to you, Brian. To get your take on whether, like, how badly we blew it.

1:34:46And then you specifically had him in free agency. I won't point out I remember. But Ajay Kopitar. All of a sudden is on quite the run. Ever since, I guess, Panaren arrived. Is that fair to say? I guess I'd have to look deeper into the numbers here. But seven points in seven games for Ajay Kopitar, playing on the side with Panaren in campaign. Yesterday he broke the record for most ever points by an L.A. King. And I think that, you know, they've already, now since this last season, I'm very excited to see what he can do. And if he was in free agency, I'd be all over Kopitar. I think I had him in free agency at one point as well. I guess it was a bit earlier in the season, but it's not only just empty points. Like he had two goals on five shots yesterday against New Jersey, scored on three shots the game before. Like we're seeing more shots than we've seen in a long time. From Kopitar. So this guy is, yeah, we're seeing a Taylor in the chat here. Kopitar ending his career on a high note. And I would go for him. Honestly, I've read a point now where if I had buy field and Kopitar was a free agency, that would be a very easy swap for me. Buy fields were doing nothing. Seems like a total snoozer at this point. While Kopitar is like, he's possessed right now. And also he's got incredible linemates.

1:35:47Like Panaren, we know who he is. And campaign has also started to go off on another gear. Ten points in his last eight games with Panaren there. So Panaren's arrival has been great for Kopitar and for campaign. We'll see if next year it's good for someone because Kopitar won't be there. Could it be buy field maybe? But for this year, if Kopitar is out there in a free agency, I think I would jump on him. I don't know. I'm curious to know what you think. Because I know you were like really anti-Kopitar while I go back. No, I'm pro anti-Kopitar. For at this point, one really curious thing for Kopitar. I mean, I think they started working to get him this record. Like, you know, the way that the caps were working and what get Ovechkin, the goals record. Right. Like I see that in Kopitar's numbers lately too. He's taken three or more shots in four of his last five games. He'd only done that six times all like in the in the prior 45 games this season. So I think it's get on say the puck. Let him shoot. Let's see what he can do.

1:36:47Two power play goals against New Jersey to help establish. Or entrench his new LA King's franchise record. But yeah, I'm into Anse Kopitar. Elon, I'm in a league where I was so mad. Someone traded Anse Kopitar to get Sebastian Aho earlier in the season. And like it was such like an obvious like one side of deal. Anyway, there was someone else, but like it didn't matter who they were. And then Kopitar was dropped like a month or two later. And now he's still a free agent. And I have Gabe Valardi on my roster. And maybe we can hop to Winnipeg. And I'm trying to decide. You've been asking me about Gabe Valardi all season. He's like my wife. No, I will. No, I love. Sorry. I hate Gabe Valardi. I like Gabe Valardi. I feel like you're always any time I talk to you. He's been so good. I could drop Gabe Valardi. Should I try to trade Gabe Valardi? Oh, I feel like it was. I think, yeah, at the trade deadline. I was trying to move on from Gabe Valardi because I saw he was vulnerable

1:37:49of being moved off the top line. And he has been. And has been been cold. And yeah, Valardi. He did. He was off the top line. He got back on for like a game. And now he's off again. He's been so quiet, just two points in his last eight games. Both of them goals. One of them on the power play. So it's like, Valardi, I feel like if he's going to get something, it's going to have to come on the power play. If he's not on that top line in Winnipeg. And yeah, I'm just. Like, well, you know my feelings about Anzacopital. I think you, I think you called me Ron Valardi. I feel, yeah, I'm certain to think that Valardi might be, might be his newser in a shallow enough league. But like, I haven't been cook up full too. And I think, I don't think a couple of shallow enough to drop him. Like, I'll, I'll hold on. Like, because we talked about Jamie Ben being worthwhile on the Dallas top power play. So if he's worthwhile, then Gabe Valardi definitely is. But in a shallower format, think a couple.

1:38:49Yeah, I think you're. I think Valardi's in snoozer territory with his deployment and the way he's been playing, which is sad to see. He's barely shooting. It's like he's going back to his early LA days when he was emulating the way that Copa Tarr has played most of the last couple of years. Barely shooting, barely pointing. Look, yeah, if you're in a league where Copa Tarr is in free agency, then I definitely think that Valardi is a snoozer, because Copa Tarr is on the top line with Kempe, Empadarin, and producing. And Valardi is on a line with Cole Perfetti, and I don't even know who. And that producing. So I think it's a pretty straightforward swap there. Adam Lowry. Yeah, I think you can make that swap and not lose any sleep about it. But yeah, let's go on to our next. This isn't really a hot streak, but it's just a mention that the coach of the Edmonton Oilers came out and said that Conor Ingram is their starter. And that's just how it is moving forward, until I guess he sees something from Jari to convince them that they should play Jari more games.

1:39:49So we'll see how that works out. But definitely if Ingram's in free agency, I think you want the starter. Right? He's struggled at times, but he's also been okay at times. We'll see how this game turns out. We're almost on the first period, and it's one nothing, Empadarin over Nashville. So far so good. Six shots, six days for Conor Ingram. No jinx here. But that is just an update. The goalie update, that's worthwhile. I would take Ingram over Alex and Jelkovich. I'll put it that way. You brought up in Jelkovich earlier. Even if it turns out that Escarov's injured long term, I would still take Conor Ingram first. But who knows with goalies? It could be rough. It could be good. I'm with you. And I think that we'll just say out loud too. And I think we were a little bit ahead of the Oilers basically coming out and saying it. Like Tristan Jari forget it. Didn't work. Yeah. Move on. You saw the goalie update. I'm not going to go there. Big time. And I think we were pretty much on the show here. I have a cold streak and it just wanted to ask like, if you have any idea what's going on with Tom Wilson, I don't think there's any good to do about it. I think I already brought this up in the last episode. You did?

1:40:49I just wanted to continue to express my disappointment in Tom Wilson. Who has pointless in his last three games so did nothing this week. I assume that you just have to hold on. I see he played like 23 minutes in the last game against Boston in three to two loss. So what are you going to do? He plays big minutes. He's on the top power play. so well to start the season. I wonder if he's heard or there's something going on, but I guess why would he be playing so many minutes, but I guess you can just play a lot of minutes while heard. Very disappointing. I'd love to see Tom Wilson make up for it to me in the semi-finals. Yeah. Tom Wilson has been playing with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Hendrix Le Pierre lately, which I don't think is great. He's seen like 23 minutes for a forward as wild. That's what he saw against Boston on Saturday. I don't know. I was going to say maybe with Dubois isn't working out, but before that, his centerman were like Justin Sourdief and Conor McMichael and Lil' Nates Alexei Protas. So I'd say Dubois isn't a market downgrade, but maybe things just aren't working out

1:41:52quite as nicely with Dubois as they were in Dubois. He's been sort of inconsistent too, right? So I, and also Washington clearly, they sent away John Carlson. I think that's probably got an impact too. If not on the ice, then in Team Morale, like Ovechkin had some things to say after the trade as well. So yeah, I don't know. I hope Washington can pull out of it and Tom Wilson can pull out of it. I don't think he's doing anything necessarily worse or wrong, but I think he's definitely having a harder time. He lost the gold medal, right? There's one thing he lost John Carlson. He lost his shot at the playoffs. So I don't know. Maybe it's just like a bit of a demoralizing time if I'm just guessing because in the numbers, there's not enough to really see, but yeah, I'll just, I'll put that out there. Some tangibles, like different line meets and some intangibles, like a bit of a tough road for Tom Wilson lately. Well, Conor McDavid

1:42:56lost the gold medal. He's still doing fine. So some people, maybe he just needs to have a higher moral character. Tom Wilson, get over it. Start getting me some fantasy points. By the way, Brian, another goal for Bo Gru on the leaves. Who? Okay. Well, did we even do like who is he? Do we know who he is? He's, he was in Anaheim in their minors for a while and he's a second-round pick of Anaheim in 2018. 50 points in 57 games with the Marley's this season. Similar numbers last year with Hartford of the AHL 37 points in 47 games. He's 26. He just turned 26 a month ago. He's from France. Bo Gru was in the Olympics for France. It's a good question. I don't have that in front of me. Do you imagine if he wasn't? Yeah, I'd be embarrassing. Yeah. You couldn't find room for this. It'd be embarrassing for the French basketball team.
