The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their offseason by signing two offensive linemen, Widerian Lo and Bret Toth. But things got interesting when two of their own free agents started visiting other teams. Earlier this week, Spencer Berford checked out the Los Angeles Chargers. Then on Monday, teammate Ben Barch made a trip to the Detroit Lions. Berch is a 27-year-old lineman who got drafted in the fourth round, pick number 116 by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in. 2020 after playing college ball at St. John's in Minnesota. He spent his fourth year with Jacksonville before the 49ers grabbed him off their practice squad. Over the last three seasons, he suited up for 14 games and started four with San Francisco. If Berford and Barge both end up leaving, the Niners could lean on Toth or their 20-25-7th round draft pick, Connor Colby, as top, choices to start at left guard.
