Averaging 11.5 boards per game, good for third in Division 1, he has 18 double doubles through 33 games. His scoring jump from 6 to 11.2 points, and he earned southeastern conference defensive player and scholar athlete of the year honors. Florida finished 26 and 7, grabbing the number one seed in the South region. His journey started far from Gainesville at an international tournament in Mexico City back in 2021. A Washington State assistant coach spotted his raw athleticism and hustle there, despite needing work on skills like shooting and passing. That led to a commitment with the Cougars in November 2022, after they wowed him with a campus visit full of Nigerian touches.
