From the Daily News Now Network, this is NFL News Today. Subscribe to keep up with every headline, every game. One of the NFL's longest running player Duos is splitting up. Running back Travis Etienne just agreed to a new contract with the New Orleans Saints during the early free agency window. That ends his time, playing alongside Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence after nearly a decade together. The two first teamed up back in college at Clemson. Lawrence arrived as a freshman in 2018, joining Etienne, who had started a year earlier. They helped lead the Tigers to a national championship that year and reached the title game the next season. Both declared for the 2021 NFL draft after their final college year. Jacksonville took Lawrence with a number one overall pick and used the second first round selection to grab Etienne. They spent the next four seasons as the Jaguars key offensive weapons. Lawrence shared a heartfelt farewell on social media. He posted photos from their Clemson and Pro days, writing that they've come a long way over an eight year run and that the best is yet to come for.

Both. In Jacksonville, Etienne topped the team in rushing yards while Lawrence led in rushing touchdowns. Together they powered the Jaguars to an AFC South title before a close wild car playoff loss to Buffalo. Now each heads into a new chapter.
