NFL Players Rate GMs: Seven A's, Four F's

0:00With the NFL today, March 6th, the NFL Players Association handed out report cards based on surveys from 1,759 players rating their general managers. For the first time this season, seven GMs earned top marks of A including those from the Panthers, Broncos, Colts, Rams, Bikings, Seahawks, and Commanders. These grades cover 17 categories and were not meant to go public after the league won agreements to keep them private, but they leaked anyway. Meanwhile, 11 general managers scored an A-minus from teams like the Ravens, Bills, Bears, Lions, Texans, Jaguars, Raiders, Dolphins, Jets, 49ers, and Buccaneers. Most of these squads made the playoffs recently, showing players approve of their roster building even for newcomers on struggling teams like the Raiders and Jets. In the B-plus range, six GMs landed there, including the Falcons, Packers, Chiefs, Chargers, Patriots, and Titans. The survey happened between November 2nd and December

Lower down, four GMs struggled with grades in the sea range, or worse, the Steelers at C-plus, Bengals and Browns at C, and Giants at a lone D-plus. Players seem frustrated with roster moves on teams like New York and Pittsburgh, where results haven't matched expectations. With free agency nearing, these player views could sway moves, though exact grading criteria for GMs remain unclear, unlike for coaches and owners.
