3:07but when she finds it, she finds it to be taken already So what does she say then? 不好意思 这是我的位置 Okay, in the beginning we have a set phrase that each and every one of you should know because it's very common and very good to use it's excuse me or sorry 不好意思 Excuse me and then she goes on and says this is my seat so how do we say seat again in Chinese? 位置 and how would I say my seat? 我的位置 Okay, in the front of this we have two other words the first word is this one and then there is a verb following which is to be so this is like this is my seat 这是我的位置 Lin, is it normal to have your seats assigned and cinemas in China? Yes, of course Okay, because I think there are some countries like the US where you don't assign seats to your customers

4:10but for instance in Germany it's very common to have that or normal and so it is in China so this guy sits on the wrong seat and after being told so he's like really? 是吗 so here we just have the verb to be and a question particle so actually if he translated literally it's just like is it? 是吗 and we use this to express like some kind of doubt or a surprise so he's like really oh let me check 我看一下 so here we have this eye and to look 我看 and then after that we have a phrase a two word phrase what is that? 一下 okay if you look at this separately you have one and down but together we use this to express like a certain or a short amount of time so here it's actually like I'm investing a short amount of time and look at something 我看一下 and you can find this a short amount of time 一下 together with many other things as well

5:12so for instance I could say if I'm very tired what would I say like 我睡一下 I'll like take a short nap or let's say we've both been hiking like for hours and hours and my legs are like oh god so tired or they start hurting and I need to sit down for a moment 我坐一下 so like sit down for a moment and rest a bit or if your mother or somebody else a friend calls you and you want to go over for shortly what do you say? 我去一下 you can use this for example as well to excuse yourself when you're like in the middle of a conversation with some friends and you're like oh like I need to go somewhere shortly 我去一下 so while the guy is checking his ticket the woman has her ticket already and is showing it to him 你看十五号 so here it starts only with two words and the first word is you and then together with look 你看 so here she just wants to draw the attention to the ticket

6:13yeah you look and you can use this short sentence pattern with knee plus a verb for other things as well so for example if you spot a rainbow somewhere and you want your peer, your friend to look at it you're like oh look a rainbow 你看彩虹 and this works as I said with other verbs as well so for instance if you listen to a nice tune somewhere a song somewhere and you're like oh listen up 你聽 or for example it works with smell as well if you have a nice pasta for example 你聞 嗯 that's good so it's mostly used for a kind of command but it's not really aggressive it's more like a spontaneous sharing of information or of something that's happening so you draw the attention to that one okay and then after that she's like okay look at it and she tells him the seat number she has on her ticket 你看十五号 okay so for numbers we can use the number as an accounting and then just add how in the end so yeah here we have number 15

7:14十五号 what would be for example number 10 十号 and so on and so forth the guy then notices that indeed he's set down on the wrong seat 啊 我做错了 so here we have a phrase that is made up of two words the first is the verb to sit down and this is combined with the word fault or mistake 做错 做错 so we use this to say that he's set down wrongly and then we have a particle after that which is it 了 we use this 了 to indicate that something just changed or that's like a spontaneous reaction to him noticing that he did something wrong okay and this is all combined just with the subject i and then it's i set down wrongly 我做错了 and we can use this verb plus做 structure to indicate other things that can go wrong for instance what happens to me still

8:15sometimes is when I write my address in Chinese that I misspell it 写错地址了 写 is to write and then写错 is to write something wrongly so yeah I wrote my address wrongly or let's say I want to call a friend and I'm like way is this joy 不是我是庆林 做你打错了 oops so打 is to call somebody so打错 is to call wrongly so I just call the wrong person and you may hear that when you call anyone on the phone you're like no you call wrong 你打错了 okay I have another idea Lin how would you tell somebody that his answer was incorrect 打错 so here we have the verb to answer 打 and then again错 wrongly you can actually say that something is correct as well using a similar structure just the verb and then the word for correct
